The Paradisus Chronicles Book 1: Vengeance

Chapter 9: The First Vordonian Leader That I Have Ever Met.

"Now I do not care what you think of what is going to happen if you want to make it past this female Vordon, then you will have to

play along with me". Cindy whispered to me. As I was waiting for her, I saw that the Vordon was smelling out the area that was

around me, but she seemed to be focusing almost entirely on the area that was in

between us.

"Stop trying to hide from me! I can smell your scent. I will eventually be killing

you if you do not reveal yourself to me; if you save me the trouble of having

to hunt you down, I will spare the only female that I sense in your group."

"I am very happy to have met another female. There are just some things that weak men will not understand. In the end, do you think that I could become a member of the Vordon race? I am truly tired of all these men who think that they can

entirely rule my life." Cindy said to the female Vordon while I saw her

starting to cry.

"Well, I am sure that we could use a strong-willed woman like you in our ranks. There is a way for us to transfer your mind into a female Vordon body. Also, if you help me survive this, I can ensure that you will become at least someone of importance after we get out of this event."

I knew that Cindy was trying to get the Vordonian to drop her guard enough for the two of us to be able to kill them. In the end, I thought that she was laying it on a

a bit thick even for this kind of situation.

"What are you going to be doing with him? If you need help putting him in his place, I could give some tips on how I think that you should treat this man that is under you." The female Vordonian said as I saw her walk over to where I was standing and watching them.

As she passed by me, she spit in my face, and then she looked away from me as if she was disgusted by my manly presence.

"Yes, I could always use your help with handling the man that is under me," Cindy said.

I wiped the spit away from my face after she walked away from me with her back to me. It took every ounce of self-control for me not to try and kill her right now where she stands for being so rude to me just because of my gender.

"Well, if you need to know, I have a present for you Vor…"

"I do not care what you have to offer me. Anything that a man could give me is useless; in the end, I only value the opinion of females". She said as she continued to walk

away from me laughing as I opened the bag that was on my back to give her

my present.

"Then if you do not care what I have something to give you; then you will be okay with receiving my present," I told the female Vordonian as she started to walk away

from me and laughed at me.

I then pressed the top bottom, which powered up the blue grenade, and tossed it at the center of the ground at her feet, which flash froze her body entirely in a set of ice.

Cindy then walked up to the frozen statue and softly knocked onto it as I walked up to it. "How dumb does your entire race have to be for something as simple as a frost grenade to be what takes your highly advanced race down in combat," I said to her as I looked at her with an expression of superiority on my face.

"Also, if you need to know the truth; then I will be happy to tell you that my deal with you is off. While I find your proposition to be amazing; I can not agree with leaving my new life that I can have as a member of The Terran Collective." Cindy said to the Vordonian and then I saw her grab something out of the bag.

This item was a pistol that was made from silver metal. It had a long single barrel and the grip underneath it was where I saw Cindy load in a clip of non-elemental

bullets.

As she loaded that pistol, I was able to recognize which type of pistol it was that I

saw Cindy holding. That pistol was a famous assassination pistol that earned the

nickname of "the Whistler". This pistol had earned its name because of the sharp

whistling sound that it would make when non-elemental ammo was shot through it.

"Here Danny; are you wanting to be the person who defeats this Vordonian female for

her insults to you?" she asked me as she handed me the pistol.

"Yes, you are right that I want to put her ancient ideals to rest, but I will not do it

with a gun," I told her as I nudged her hand away. I made my way to where the

Vordonian was frozen, and I placed my bare right hand on it.

The surface was cold to the touch. It made a sharp shiver form at the top of my

spine, and even though it was getting colder by the second I did not even try

to remove my hand from it.

"Wait Danny; how are you going to take care of her without any kind of weapon?"

I formed a massive grin on my face so that Cindy could tell that I had a very twisted idea

that I had just thought of.

"So, I have a question for you Cindy?" I asked her as I ran my hand along the surface of

the ice.

"What is your question?" she asked me as she started to slowly back as if she was afraid of me because of the look on my face.

"I wonder have you ever tried to see what a talent that was meant for helping out Terrans

would do to members of other races?"

She looked at me with an expression that told me that she did not ever think about

anything like that.

"To be honest; the thought had never crossed my mind. I was always told that our talents were given to us to level the playing field in our current war since we are the second weakest race in this galaxy through technological means.

"While that is the traditional teachings of our culture, I discovered something during my four years of education as a healer. During the final year as a healer, we are given our private room to heal other people of our race and a lab to

experiment in.

I tell you this so that you understand what I am about to tell you. I used the room of

experimentation to find out if I was able to heal the bodies of the other races

that we are at war with. In my studies, I discovered that if my healing talent

is used on another race, it causes that bodies to decay into a pile of ashes like

it was a touch of death.

In the end, I have never used it because I was worried about what the catch for using such

any overpowered talent would be."

I stopped in front of the ice and I could feel the energy building up inside of me before it left the tips of my fingers that were still touching the ice. The energy left my body and passed through the ice until it contacted her body.

As the healing energy contacted her flesh her veins under her skin started to turn

black. Then the body started to crumble until it became a pile of ash.

After that, I felt a wave of dark energy rush across me. Then I felt a very intense chill rush down my spine and I heard a mysterious female voice that mesmerized and drew my attention

entirely as she started to speak to me.

You have unlocked the dark intentions that I was keeping dormant in your heart. If you do something like that ever again, I will not be here to contain the curse that comes with the

use of such a dark power.

The presence that I was feeling vanished and it made me feel very uneasy like I had just been visited by a divine being. If I had truly heard the words of a divine being what was it that she meant when she said that I had unlocked the darkness's intentions?

"Danny, are you okay?" Cindy

asked me as she tapped me on the shoulder which caught my attention and brought

me out of my trance.

"Yes, I am fine we should go inside of the tower and see what types of items are inside for us to use," I told her as I walked over to the tower so I could get my first glance at the

inside of it.

As I walked into the tower, I

was amazed at how different the inside looked compared to the outside of it.

The inside of this tower was a very simple design which was very different than

what I had gotten used to as a healer for The Terran Collective.

These designs were mostly made

of stone that had white symbols engraved in them that lit up as I walked past

them. In the center of the entrance room, there was a set of tall stone stairs

that went up to the top floor of the tower.

"Do you think that you can

hide from me?" I heard a medium-pitched female voice said that echoed

throughout the entire tower.

I made it up to the top floor of

the tower where I saw a tall female Vordonian who wore a blue robe and had four

massive white horns that twisted into a single bind about three inches in height.

"You are just another female of The Vordon Empire. Taking you down will be as easy as the last one that I had just slain." I said to her as I walked up to her knowing that despite what I said this was not going to be anything like the previous fight.

I got out my dual scythes knowing that I would need them to fight this Vordonian.

Would I be able to survive this battle; or would this battle lead to my defeat and limit my standing in this contest that will affect my future life?
