Chapter 167: Chapter 167
"Ali…" Natalya whispered, her voice trembling as recognition dawned on her. Her blue lightsaber flickered slightly as her grip faltered.
She recognised the grotesque weapon resting on Ali's shoulder—the quinque—and his unmistakable physique. Her heart sank, the fire of revenge within her dimming with every passing second. She finally understood who she was up against. The Sith before her wasn't just a foe; he was a nightmare.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!
A thunderous roar tore through the battlefield, silencing blasters and cries alike. Drogath stood tall, his massive figure radiating power as he released his war cry. The sheer force of his voice seemed to reverberate across the entire battlefield, shaking the very air.
He lifted his armoured foot high, energy coiling around his leg as the Force gathered within him. Then, with devastating force, he brought his foot down.
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!
The ground split apart beneath him, sending a shockwave rippling outward. The earth groaned as the ground cracked and buckled, jagged fissures spreading like veins across the battlefield. Chunks of stone and debris exploded upward, flying through the air like deadly missiles.
The Jedi, from Masters to Knights, reacted instantly. They raised their arms in unison, summoning the Force to shield themselves and their troops from the onslaught. Energy fields shimmered into existence, blocking most of the flying debris, though the effort left many sweating and straining under the Sith's overwhelming attack.
As the dust cleared, the Jedi turned their eyes toward where the two Sith had been. To their growing unease, neither Ali nor Drogath was there anymore.
"ABOVE!" one of the water guild Jedi screamed, pointing skyward.
The Jedi collectively looked up, their senses screaming danger as they spotted the Sith mid-air. Ali and Drogath had launched themselves high above the battlefield, their silhouettes framed against the chaos of the sky. Without hesitation, they plummeted straight toward the heart of the Jedi army.
BANG! BANG!
The two landed with such ferocity that the ground crumbled beneath their impact, killing dozens of soldiers instantly. The shockwaves of their descent rippled outward, throwing nearby troops off their feet.
Blasters were immediately trained on the two Sith, and hundreds of bolts fired in their direction.
Drogath wasted no time. He activated a shimmering Force shield, the blasts bouncing harmlessly off the barrier like raindrops. Lowering his massive horned head, he channeled the Force into his legs and exploded forward like a missile, his body a blur of destructive power.
He tore through the Jedi ranks, leaving a trail of devastation in his wake. Soldiers screamed as his armour crushed their bodies and his sheer momentum turned them into mangled heaps of flesh and bone.
When he finally came to a halt, the ground behind him was a scarred path of shattered earth and corpses.
With a guttural roar, Drogath swung his battle axe in a wide arc, the lightsaber-edged weapon cutting through six soldiers at once. Blood sprayed across his black armour, streaking the crimson highlights and making him look like a god of war descending upon the battlefield.
Meanwhile, Ali moved with calculated precision, his presence a storm of death. His lightsabers whirled around him in a lethal dance, deflecting blaster bolts with ease. His quinque hovered in a deadly circle, slicing through soldiers with surgical precision. Men screamed as their torsos separated from their legs, their upper halves sliding to the ground with grotesque finality.
Ali lunged into the fray, moving faster than the soldiers could react. With a flick of his hand, he tore the head off one soldier, the helmet flying away with the force of the attack. He spun around, delivering a kick so powerful it sent another soldier's body hurtling into his comrades, crushing them under the weight.
Now deep within the army's ranks, the soldiers hesitated to fire for fear of hitting their own. Ali seized the advantage, his lightsabers breaking from their defensive formation.
They spiralled outward in a wide arc, their crimson and green glow slicing through everything they touched. The air filled with the sickening smell of burning flesh as the blades left trails of death and destruction.
The Jedi Masters, witnessing the carnage, gritted their teeth and rushed forward to confront the Sith. But before they could close the distance, Ali and Drogath leapt again, soaring across the battlefield to another section of the army.
Every time the Jedi drew near, the Sith would reposition, continuing their brutal onslaught. The battlefield became a twisted game of cat and mouse, with the Jedi army being torn apart piece by piece.
'I want to hunt down the Jedi, but for now, we need to hold their army until mine is ready', Ali thought, his crimson eyes scanning the horizon.
In the distance, tens of Empire ships landed at the battlefield's perimeter, their sleek hulls gleaming under the sun. Thousands of troopers disembarked, forming tight formations and readying themselves to march.
Among them were Sith of all ranks, from apprentices to Masters. They stood in their black uniforms, their red lightsabers igniting in unison. The sight of Ali and Drogath cutting down enemies filled them with renewed strength.
The dark side within them surged, their bloodlust growing as they prepared to join the carnage.
Back in the fray, Ali pressed his gloved hand against a soldier's chest.
BZZZZT!
A small hole appeared in the soldier's chest plate, right where his heart was. The soldier crumpled to the ground, lifeless, as Ali stepped aside to dodge the butt of another soldier's blaster.
Without hesitation, he plunged his hand into the man's stomach, his arm sinking deep into flesh. Blood sprayed across his Mask as Ali lifted the screaming soldier high into the air with one hand.
With a flick of his wrist, he sent out a powerful Force wave. Five nearby soldiers clutched their heads as they exploded in a shower of blood and bone.
Ali yanked his arm free of the soldier's torso and watched dispassionately as the body hit the ground.
His cross-guard lightsaber returned to his hand, its blade carving through ten soldiers in its path before he caught it.
Without missing a beat, Ali lunged forward, his speed and dexterity turning him into a blur. He weaved through the ranks, slicing men into pieces with brutal efficiency.
"You killed a player: 1 Paradise Coin."
"You killed a player: 3 Paradise Coins."
"You killed a player: 1 Paradise Coin."
The notifications from the interface flooded Ali's vision as he racked up kills. The carnage continued until three Jedi Masters surrounded him in a triangle, their combined Force energy locking him in place.
Ali's body stiffened as their telekinesis pinned him in the air. He squirmed under the immense pressure, his arm trembling as he slowly tried to move.
"NOT… ENOUGH!" Ali roared, his voice echoing as the Force exploded outward from his body. The shockwave shattered their hold, sending the Jedi Masters stumbling.
A second lightsaber ignited in Ali's hand as he vanished with blinding speed, reappearing in-front one of the Jedi. The Master barely had time to react, leaping back to dodge.
UGH!
Ali's blade caught him mid-air, slicing him into clean sections. The other two Jedi stared in horror as their comrade's dismembered body crumpled to the ground. The Jedi's foot had a green vine latched onto it which returned back to the Earth.
High above, Renella floated gracefully down, her stunning green dress billowing in the wind. Her hands and eyes glowed with deep green energy as she unleashed her magic. Across the battlefield, sharp roots erupted from the ground, ensnaring soldiers and piercing their legs.
A sharp blue water arrow shot through the air, aimed directly at Renella. One of the water guild Jedi had spotted her and launched the attack with precision.
The arrow streaked toward her, but it never reached its target. A shimmering green magical shield materialised in front of Renella, absorbing the attack effortlessly. She turned her glowing eyes toward the player who had fired at her, her expression one of cold disdain.
Raising her hands, she summoned her power. Tens of green, spectral arrows appeared above the player, each one crackling with energy. With a flick of her wrist, the arrows launched downward in unison, their sharp tips glinting as they descended like a deadly rain.
The Jedi readied his lightsaber, spinning it in swift arcs to deflect the incoming barrage. Two more members of the water guild rushed to his side, their lightsabers igniting as they joined him in blocking the magical onslaught.
Renella's lips curled into a faint smirk as she continued to bombard the trio with relentless precision, keeping them pinned down.
Meanwhile, on the battlefield below, Ali closed the distance between himself and one of the Jedi Masters. His cross-guard lightsaber came down in a devastating overhead strike, forcing the Jedi to block with her own blade. The sheer strength behind Ali's attack made her feet dig into the ground, leaving cracks beneath her boots.
Ali's movements were swift and merciless. Dropping to the ground, he performed a low sweep kick that caught the Jedi by surprise. She couldn't react in time as Ali's leg slammed into the side of her calf, shattering the bone with an audible crack.
"AAAAAH!" The Jedi's scream pierced the air, her balance faltering as she crumpled to one knee.
Before she could recover, Ali plunged his lightsaber downward, its crimson blade piercing through her skull. The scream ended abruptly as her body went limp, collapsing to the ground in a heap.
The remaining Jedi Master was locked in a desperate struggle against the floating lightsabers controlled by Ali's telekinesis. The red blades darted around him like predatory birds, each strike forcing him to parry and deflect. His breathing grew ragged, sweat dripping from his brow as he tried to keep up.
He managed to knock away the nearest lightsaber, but his victory was short-lived. A sharp, searing pain shot through his back, freezing him in place.
"AAAAAAH!"
The Jedi screamed at the top of his lungs from the pain. Ali stood behind him, his gloved hand covered in blood as he ripped a chunk of the Jedi's spine from his body.
The Jedi fell forward, his screams fading into a gurgle as he collapsed face-first onto the ground.
Ali raised the bloody piece of spine high into the air, his red mask gleaming under the pale sunlight. The horrifying sight froze the approaching Jedi in their tracks. The screams of their fallen comrade, still alive but dying slowly and painfully, added to the terror that gripped their hearts.
