Chapter 29: Du Qingyue's Origins
Facing Du Zhixiang's foul language, Du Qingyue remained very calm, as if she was already used to such things. She said coldly, "If you think I embarrass you, you can sever the father-daughter relationship with me. And, just now, the word 'again' was not used accurately."
Du Qingyue thought for a while and continued, "If I remember correctly, since I bought this villa two years ago, this is your first visit. How would you know if I've brought men home before?"
Usually, she wouldn't bother to explain such things to Du Zhixiang, but for some reason, today she couldn't stand having dirt thrown on her.
Du Zhixiang sneered, "Like mother, like daughter. Your mom was a slut when she was alive, just as fickle as you could be!"
Upon hearing this, Du Qingyue and Jiang Yixin both glared angrily at Du Zhixiang, while a trace of coldness flickered in Xiao Feng's eyes.
"Oh, you've got guts now, huh? You dare look at me like that?" Du Zhixiang raised his right hand high, speaking as he was about to strike Du Qingyue's face.
Yet, Du Qingyue neither dodged nor avoided, slowly closing her beautiful eyes. Her heart was ice-cold, utterly disappointed in her father.
At this moment, Xiao Feng rushed over with a sudden stride, grabbed Du Zhixiang's hand, and kicked him fiercely, yelling, "You don't deserve to be a father, let alone a man!"
In Xiao Feng's view, describing Du Zhixiang like this was entirely justified.
When Du Zhixiang raised his hand to hit Du Qingyue, it felt like 'a pet you've raised suddenly dare to resist you one day', in such angry loss of control was resorting to forceful suppression.
This conduct fully disqualifies him from being any sort of father.
As for insulting a deceased wife, even less so is something a real man would do.
Du Zhixiang was completely unprepared for Xiao Feng to suddenly act, his chest kicked and nearly lost his breath, lying on the floor wailing endlessly and angrily cursing, "You dare to hit me?! I'm disciplining my daughter, what's that to do with you?"
Xiao Feng walked over to Du Qingyue and wrapped her in his arms, "If you're hitting your daughter, I admit it's none of my business, but if you're hitting my wife, that's something I'll never agree to!"
Du Qingyue gazed indifferently at Du Zhixiang, roaring on the ground, allowing Xiao Feng to wrap his arm around her shoulder, seemingly acknowledging Xiao Feng's claim.
Meanwhile, Jiang Yixin, observing all this, completely abandoned her previous bias against Xiao Feng, feeling thoroughly satisfied and delighted!
"If there's something to say, say it. If you dare swear again or try to act, next time my intervention won't be so light." Xiao Feng said chillingly.
Du Zhixiang was about to explode, shouting furiously, "Wanting to marry my daughter without asking my consent—this marriage I won't agree to!"
"Is this what you wanted to say?" Xiao Feng laughed, "Alright, I understand, you may leave now."
Du Zhixiang stared dumbfoundedly at Xiao Feng, full of disbelief.
Seeing he had no intention of leaving, Xiao Feng said with an innocent face, "The person I want to marry is Du Qingyue, not her father. In other words, as long as Du Qingyue agrees, there's simply no problem."
Du Zhixiang almost choked on his words, clenched his teeth and said bitterly after a while, "You've got guts, just wait and see. If you can manage to get the wedding done, I'll drop the surname Du."
"You better not provoke me. If you really drive me mad, I'll hold a mobile wedding, ranging across seven continents, eight oceans, do it all over." Xiao Feng looked at Du Qingyue in his arms, smiled and said, "By then, I'll let the world know Du Qingyue is my wife!"
"You!" Du Zhixiang was so angry he saw black before his eyes, feeling as if these words might induce a heart attack.
After a moment, Du Zhixiang barely managed to breathe evenly, glanced viciously at Xiao Feng, snorted coldly, and walked out of the villa.
He was truly afraid that if he stayed longer, he'd be angered to death here.
After Du Zhixiang left, the atmosphere in the living room became somewhat awkward. Jiang Yixin changed the subject, "Why hasn't the delivery arrived yet? If it doesn't come soon, I'll call to complain about the inefficiency."
Just as she finished speaking, the doorbell rang, accompanied by a shout, "Mr. Wang Tiedan, please come out to pick up the delivery."
Xiao Feng was instantly bewildered—no one here was called Wang Tiedan!
He looked at Jiang Yixin, only to see her running out with a face full of embarrassment.
"She leaves random names when ordering delivery, once she even used Zhao Tiechui." Du Qingyue explained, then broke free from Xiao Feng's embrace and turned to walk upstairs.
However, when she reached the corner, Du Qingyue stopped and said without turning her head, "Thanks for earlier!"
After speaking, she disappeared around the corner.
Jiang Yixin came back with the delivery, arranged it, and said to Xiao Feng, "Let's eat. Qingyue surely isn't in the mood for eating now, we'll leave her a portion."
Xiao Feng nodded, ate while asking, "Has it always been like this between her and her father?"
Jiang Yixin sighed, "Actually, what you said earlier is so true, Qingyue's father shouldn't have ever been a father..."
As she spoke, she started to narrate Du Qingyue's story gently and in detail.
Only then did Xiao Feng understand, it turned out Du Qingyue's mother, named Tian Junxue, was a dancer, and in her youth was the famous beauty of Jiangcheng.
As the saying goes, every coin has two sides.
Tian Junxue's fame brought her to be the star performer of the dance troupe, granting her a high income while also attracting some ill-intentioned people.
Among these ill-intentioned people was Du Zhixiang.
Once, Du Zhixiang got Tian Junxue drunk at a banquet, had a romantic encounter, and quietly left afterward.
Three months later, Tian Junxue discovered she was pregnant, tracked and located Du Zhixiang, yet when she found him, he desperately denied and refused to acknowledge his responsibility.
This stirred commotion, reaching the ears of the Du Family's Patriarch, Du Qingyue's grandfather.
To preserve the Du Family's reputation, under his father's pressure, Du Zhixiang had no choice but to marry Tian Junxue.
Tian Junxue initially resisted, but she planned to cope and marry for the baby in her belly.
But after marriage, Tian Junxue realized, Du Zhixiang wasn't only addicted to gambling, indulging in nightlife, but also had a habit of domestic violence.
Even during her pregnancy, he would bring other women home to seek pleasure.
At this time, Tian Junxue regretted, having abandoned her beloved dance career only to end up with such an outcome; it was unbearable for anyone.
But the problem was, her baby was already eight months old.
After ten months of pregnancy and childbirth, Tian Junxue ultimately couldn't bear to let go of the child, forced to endure Du Zhixiang's rampant misconduct.
And the baby in her belly, Du Qingyue, became her sole reason to keep going.
