The lord of life and death

" The city is under attack." 

" What to do?"

Rain hears everybody in the crowd dumbfounded by the certain turn of events. Rain turns to face his mother with a question in his eye, ' What to do?' 

Then he hears the guards shout, "Everybody returns to their residence. The Princess has ordered martial law." After that, the guards enter the house to help the guards already inside fighting.

The crowd starts to disperse after hearing the shout of the guards. 

"Let's return to your grandparent's house." Rain hears his mother. He nods in reply and starts following his mother.

On the way, to his grandparent's house. Rain and his mother came upon a street blocked by the guards. Inside the street a fight is taking place, one side is the city guard and the other side is people who are similar dress to followers of the evil god of spores he and his mother killed a moment ago, humans with ant antennae on their heads and dogs with a green crystal on their head. 

Rain notices that when the dog's legs and heads are cut nothing happens to them as they grow back, only when the attack falls on the crystal on their head do they die.

Rain finds as he watches the fight as this is the only street to return to his Grandparent's house on the upper street. 

"Mother, Shall we have to climb down to the lower street to return to the house." Rain watching the fight, he can feel the fighting was going to end anytime soon. 

His mother replies, "Wait, we may need to help." Rain watches the guards blocking the road leave their post as more dogs come out of the house and the guards are being overwhelmed, by the increasing number of dogs.

Seeing the guard were unable to hold on," I am going to help them." a person ran out from the crowd, who were watching the fight with Rain.

Rain watches the person change into a tiger and start running toward the fight. Seeing the person running out to help the guard. More people from the crowd ran ahead some transformed into bears, leopards, boars, and other animals, while others only had their hands or legs changed to animal limbs. 

The complete transformation is in the first realm of changers without transforming they cannot fully display their combat power while the partial transformation is in the second realm of changers.

Rain's attention snaps back from the fight as he feels a sharp object touching his right arm. He finds the sharp object his mother-transformed claw. " Let's go and help them." his mother asks.

His mother without waiting for his reply, runs ahead and joins the fight. Rain controls the life seed which is in the shape of a short stick, to cover his both hands like an armored glove. 

Then, Rain also runs ahead, while running he spreads his soul power, and everything 50 meters around him is displayed in his mind. Except for the house, where the dogs are coming out, it's a black space in a map.

Rain locks a dog coming toward him running, and as the dog leaps toward him, he uses 'mind blast' on the dog and nothing happens. Rain quickly without paying attention to the pain that shot from his arm and thinking why the mind blast technique did not work, he raised his right arm for the dog to bite.

As the dog latches on the right arm, Rain quickly uses his left hand to pull the crystal out of the dog's head. The dog biting his arm breaks down into particles vanishing in the air. 

As his soul power was spread around his body, he noticed what had happened. The particles that the dog breaks down into are fungus cells. And the dog did not die, Rain finds as the crystal is not destroyed, The fungus cells are moving attaching themselves toward the crystal in his left palm.

Rain did not want to destroy the crystal, he wanted to find its secret. So he controls his soul power to rush inside the crystal. After some time he feels a block ahead. Rain enters more soul power demolishing the block. And he feels he can control the fungus cells of the dog. 

When he gains control of the crystal, he also finds out how the dog is created. The dog is constructed by fungi cells gathered together. The crystal binds the fungi cells together and the crystal is also artificial intelligence controlling the dog. Without a soul, How can his mind-blast technique work?

He is in a fight, he does not have time to experiment on the crystal. He stops the crystal from attracting the fungi and puts it in his pocket. He looks at the place where the fungi dog bites him and finds the life seed around his arm, which is healing themselves, and senses that the life seed is also stopping the bleeding from the injury. The dog's bite pierced the life seed and injured his skin only. The life seed stops the dog from causing a serious injury.

" I have to test the function of life seed later when I am free."

And starts searching for his next target, all the cultists are already killed, and only the dogs are coming out of the building.

A perimeter is built by the guards around the building where the dogs are coming out. Rain searches and finds his mother standing and he makes his way to her.

His mother finds him walking toward her and when he reaches her, she says," Looks like our help is not needed anymore."

Rain nods, and with their help, the guards bring the situation under their control. Rain finds many civilians changed back to their tree spirit form and changed back their partial transformation, his mother among them. And many are leaving from here.

Rain thoughtfully said," Then we shall return to my grandparent's home."

Mother thoughtfully looks at the perimeter from by the guard for a few seconds turns to face him and speaks," Yeah, let's go." Mother starts walking and Rain follows her passing the guard perimeter.

They did not even walk 10 meters from the perimeter, Rain felt the street made from vines of the trees beside the road shaking. He turns back to see if the dog's number increases. But found nothing, the dogs are easily suppressed by the guard perimeter which is tighter around the door of the house. In one minute, Rain thinks the guards will enter the house.

He did not even take three steps ahead, he heard wood snapping and heard a large boom sound and the street under him exploded. Second ago, he was walking the upper street and now he is lying on his back on the ground street with upper street fragments around him.

He hears his mother, "Glenn, are you ok." He finds his mother standing beside him looking at him with worry.

Rain, "Yes, the life seed created a cushion on my back protecting my head and back."He with the help of his hand sits up," What happened? And why are you standing?" He wants to ask why she did not fall on the ground.

He looks toward what he feels is the main cause of the destruction. And hears his mother speaking," Someone made a large hole under the building on the ground street. When the building and trees fell inside the hole which led to the destruction of the upper floor which was supported by the ground floor."

" And why, I am standing because I have the reflexes of a cat."

Rain remembers his mother's chimera form including the limbs of a leopard. And finds the hole a few meters ahead of him, He quickly stands up, and he, his mother, and the people beside him who also fell like him from the upper street or who were already on the lower street are groaning in pain as people from upper street fell on them or debris from upper street fell on them.

He quickly scans them with his soul strength, and finds they are not seriously injured. They can be checked on later, after searching for the reason for the formation of the hole and the people who fell inside the hole.

Standing from the edge, Rain can hear the sound of fighting coming from the hole and the roar of animals. Rain can hear discussion among the crowd If they go down to check from hear it cannot be seen what is happening below because they can only see in the hole people lying down groaning in pain or unconscious and light is coming from one side of the hole below.

He hears his mother speaking," We should bring out the injured from the hole and find the situation of the fight?"

His mother, " Then let us bring them out." Rain watches his mother and four other tree spirits jump into the hole and as they fall wings grow from their back. As they flap their wings their speed of falling slows down and they control their body and land on the ground in the hole where no one is lying down.

Rain's full attention is inside the hole when he hears a loud boom sound above from the sky. He looks up and finds a golden light fighting against three green lights. By looking at the lights in the sky, he knows the three green lights are friendly forces and the golden light is their enemy. 

When he watched the all lights, his body screamed to run far away from the city but the golden light gave him a more dangerous and malicious feeling. Rain blinks multiple times as he notices snow falling from the sky, It is not the season for snow falling, he thinks.

Then he hears he shout from a sound around him," Quickly jump in the hole, they are not snow but spores." Rain hearing spores associate it with the evil god of spores. He quickly looks below and finds his mother flying up with an injured person in her arms.

He shouts," Mother flying down." and he looks around and finds a tree stumps. While others were jumping in the hole, he ran to the tree stump, he changed the life seed in his left arm to form a hook shape put it around the tree stump, and connected the end of the hook with the life seed on his right hand to form a rope. 

Holding the end of the rope he slowly climbs down the hole. As he goes down, the rope changes from life seed extend. When his feet touch the bottom he controls the life seed to change back to two gloves on both of his hands. And runs toward from where the light is coming at the side of the hole below.
