NOVEL NEXT Chapter 14: Chapter 12.05
The following afternoon, Naruto walked into the headquarters of the Hunter Association alongside Woo Jin Chul. They bumped into each other just outside the building and ended up going in together.
"The Chairman's eager to see you in the meeting room," Woo Jin Chul mentioned as they stepped into the elevator. "He's pretty excited to chat about the contract."
Naruto gave a nod and asked, "So, what's the update on that double dungeon news happened almost week ago I think ?" He hadn't kept up with it since hearing about it a few days back. Naruto wasn't much of a news watcher, and when he did tune in, it was mostly to see stuff about himself or other hunters.
"The Hunter Association is still looking into it," Woo Jin Chul answered, keeping a serious and calm face. "There's a lot we don't know yet."
Naruto nodded and asked, "And what about the hunters who were part of that raid?"
"Some made it out, but others didn't survive," Woo Jin Chul said. "What exactly happened in there is still unclear based on what the survivors have told us. So, the investigation is still ongoing." As he finished speaking, the elevator doors opened, and they both stepped out onto their floor.
"Surprisingly enough, one of the survivor is an E-Rank hunter." Woo Jin Chul added as they walked into a lit hallway.
Naruto raised his eyebrows in a bit surprise. How could an E-Rank hunter survive such an catastrophe, when other hunters died , who were higher rank than E-Rank !?
'I got to meet the person once,' He thought, "What's his name by the way !?" He asked to Woo Jin Chul.
Woo Jin Chul, who finally stopped walking, "Sung Jin-woo," He said,as at the same time he motioned Naruto towards the gate they were standing in front of , "We are here!" He said, as he knocked the gate , as a deep voice , which Naruto was sure it was of the chairman Go Gunhee, as he spoke from inside , "Come In!"
"You don't have to worry about the double dungeon situation. Plus, if you join Hunter association today, I am sure you will be given informations about the situation," He said, as he opened the door, and gestured Naruto to enter first, as Naruto nodded, and entered the room and soon Woon Jin Chul followed him inside , closing the door behind them.
"Naruto Uzumaki, it's great to meet you again," Go Gunhee who was sitting at his chair, stood up and walked forward with a smile as he greeted Naruto.
"Thanks!" Naruto accepted his greetings, as he looked back down at the desk, and saw flies placed at the desk, as his eyes again turned back to the chairman, "So, Let's talk about the main reason we are here for ," Naruto said
"Yes, That's right , take a seat, please." GO Gunhee said and gestured to the chair.
Naruto took the seat , as the chairman first gestured something to Woo Jin Chul and he nodded his head and walked out of the room, leaving Naruto and the chairman alone to continue to talk about the contract thing, as Go Gunhee walked back to the other side of the desk and sat down.
"First Of all, Congratulations for your first raid. I watched the news about it." He first congratulated Naruto , which Naruto accepted with a slight smile, "You are still very young Naruto. I know what it's like to be there and I am sure you are very much enthusiastic about becoming an hunter and looking forward to your new life as an hunter. And I and Hunter association would love to be part of your journey, although, as I already told , we can't afford as much money as the big guilds will offer you, but , we will do our best," He finished , "You know where I am going with this right !?" He ended with a question, which was very obvious, and the main reason of Naruto currently sitting before him, who was confused for a moment at the question.
"The Contract, yeah, I get it. But before we dive into all the details about it, there's something small I need to clear up first," Naruto said. "If I decide to join the Hunter Association, what exactly would I be doing there?" He initially thought about asking this question in a roundabout way, but realized it was probably best to be direct right from the start. He wanted to understand their real reason for wanting him on board. During their first chat, Go Gunhee had already mentioned something about maintaining balance among the country's hunter guilds. This balance would apparently be disrupted if Naruto chose to join any of the top guilds at the moment.
That was just Naruto's basic understanding of why they wanted him. But the big question that really had him curious was about his role in the Hunter Association. What exactly would he be doing there? He needed an answer to that.
