Chapter 539: The New Monarch
The Monarch brought the journey to Sagus City to a perfect conclusion.
All personnel returned to the Royal City; although most suffered varying degrees of injury, with some severely wounded, no one died, and that is the best outcome.
Every High Rank combatant is extremely important to Troli.
They are the true power fighting against the darkness on the battlefield.
Middle Rank combatants and Low Rank combatants essentially serve as law enforcement maintaining internal stability within Troli.
Only by entering the High Rank domain and becoming strong can one face the real enemy directly.
However, becoming High Rank is not an easy task; only about three percent of combatants can take that step.
In such circumstances, only more newcomers can lead to more High Rank combatants, which is why the Royal City places such importance on the number of newcomers each year.
Of course, there is another path, which is to increase the rate of advancement.
But that is not realistic because increasing the advancement rate means the consumption of resources grows exponentially, which the Royal City cannot afford. Current resources can only supply those "geniuses" who stand out in environments lacking Spiritual Energy.
However, the upper echelons of Troli are attempting to change this situation.
The Source Prophecy is the most important first step among them.
——They must understand what dangers lie ahead to decide whether to take this step.
This is a major matter concerning the life and death of the entire Kingdom, and there must be absolutely no neglect.
All those tragedies in history were without exception due to arrogance and reckless advancement.
This is also the key purpose of their trip to Sagus City, and Rod perfectly completed the mission by bringing all sixteen remains of the God of Destiny back to the Royal City.
When they were displayed before the prophets of the White Tower, everyone was stunned.
The mighty power of destiny, the perfect structure, can be described as the strongest destiny material in this world.
The Great Prophet Iyeta looked at the sixteen materials as if looking at his sixteen sons, the sparkle in his eyes brighter than the shine on his bald head.
"My heavens, I can hardly imagine this exists in reality?"
"This is simply a work of art!"
"Every cross-section is flawless. Is this a gemstone cut by the Divine itself?"
Rod smiled and replied, "I don't know if it is a gemstone, but it is definitely cut by the Divine itself."
Iyeta stared at him, his eyes wide open.
"What are you saying? How do you know?"
Rod briefly explained the matter of the remains automatically segmenting.
This narration brought countless gasps from around; not only Iyeta but all prophets and observers seemed to want to dissect Rod into pieces and study his internal structure to see why he could trigger this Miracle.
But ultimately, the allure of the Source Prophecy stopped them.
Attempting to glimpse the truth of destiny is the lifelong dream of every prophet.
And the Source Prophecy is the strongest prophecy that can uncover the veil of destiny.
They have been preparing for the Source Prophecy for a very long time; the Master of White Tower Meredith spent tremendous effort on it.
Now, they are only short of these final materials containing the power of destiny.
"Lord Rod."
Iyeta said solemnly.
"I cannot describe your merit in words; these sixteen destiny materials will bring us an unprecedented Source Prophecy, allowing us to glimpse the truth of destiny, the source of disaster, and even the origin of the Black Fog."
"Humanity will be proud because of your existence."
Rod was about to express humility, only to hear a snap.
Iyeta straightened his posture and respectfully saluted Rod.
"In honor of the Supreme Black Rice Bucket!"
Snap, snap, snap, snap.
All the prophets behind him bowed and repeated in unison.
"In honor of the Supreme Black Rice Bucket!"
Rod froze in place like a wooden statue, his mouth twitching as countless plant names were swallowed in his throat.
He secretly vowed in his heart that once he gained authority, he would definitely change the habit of using the name Fire Spark as an honorary title!
The prophets of White Tower carefully loaded the remains of the God of Destiny into specific containers and promptly returned to the White Tower.
Now all that remains is to await the result of the Source Prophecy.
The journey to Sagus City can be said to have concluded perfectly.
The process far exceeded expectations, but the result was good.
The only thing that worried Rod slightly was that the King of the Deep Sea Asmonis had already descended upon the Sagus Ancient City, and he didn't know if it would affect the Royal City.
But the Monarch was not worried about this.
Sagus City is very far from the Royal City, and the only path has been sealed due to the movement of the Black Fog.
Rod nevertheless remained uneasy and asked, "What if it does see my Teleportation Gate? What if it comes through too?"
The Monarch chuckled softly, "Then we shall receive an unprecedented gift—a terrifying evil will be cleansed by us, and the world's threats will be reduced, taking us another step towards the light."
Rod hesitantly asked, "Monarch, are you confident in defeating it?"
The Monarch replied with pride, "The strength of the Holy Fire far exceeds the past; backed by the Holy Fire, I fear nothing, even facing the legendary unspeakable presence."
"But..."
Rod looked doubtfully at the Monarch; before departing, he did not recall the Monarch being so confident.
"Have you become stronger?"
