Chapter 1: CHAPTER: 1
Early in the morning a teenage boy woke up from his sleep clutching his chest with both hands as he struggled to breath for a second. He woke up from a nightmare... A terrible nightmare. He felt weird his surroundings were foreign, his body felt foreign and even the sounds of his breathing felt foreign to him. He tried getting up from the bed but weirdly fell down overestimating the strength his body had. Why did this fall hurt him so much??? He couldn't understand what was happening until he looked up to a mirror hanged on his old closet. He felt that the face it reflected looked unfamiliar like it never belonged to him. He was feeling so much and yet nothing at the same time leading only for confusion. He felt the desire to scream at the top of his lungs yet he couldn't feeling weird about this desire. He wanted to get angry but it was like he forgot the very reason for this anger. He wanted to cry.... To mourn but he never knew what or who he lost. That was until the memorious flooded in like a tsunami threatening to swallow and shatter everything in its way. It was hurting him so much..... Why did it hurt?... He fell to the ground as he clutched to his head in pain. He tried to scream yet his throat was dry that all the sounds he could make were muffled noises. That was until it all just stopped... He let go of his head while slowly opening his eyes and looking at his pale hands. Then he finally looked at his own reflection and started remembering who he was. It succeeded Aiden went back to were it all started! He looked really weak just like he remembered this past self of his paled in comparison to his future.
He pulled off the shirt of his due to how much sweat it was drenched with which made him really uncomfortable move around with it still on. He was then met with the same scene he hated for a good while during the test of his. He was skinny and dangerously so, he wasn't really like that in the past but due to circumstances he had he became so. He got out his phone from his pocket and opened it he really missed this all of this. He saw that it was six in the morning and the today was the 7th of may 2030. Which meant he had only a month before it started to, he needed to prepare and he had to think of a good plan. Of course getting stronger was one he needed to build as much muscles as he could before he left to that test, but first of all he needed to meet with Andrew and...."TOO COLD!" Aiden screamed in pure agony as he left the shower while shivering. Why did he decided to shower in cold water?! His worst enemy!!! He grumbled a few curses under his breath.
He got back to the shower and sneakily reached for the handle to turn the hot water on and when he saw slight smoke coming from the water he got in feeling his body tensity lessen. This was something he missed for a while not the hot shower but the safety of his own place. After he finished washing himself he walked out with a towel around his waist. He looked around his dorm room and noticed his roommate was no thankfully nowhere to be seen he didn't really think he had the mentality to meet him yet even though that was his goal from the beginning. He opened his closet and decided to wear anything and explore the academy mostly to get a breath of fresh air. When he wore his hoodie he noticed how buffy it was for him with the pants too. His hear was also annoyingly long since he haven't gotten a proper haircut for a while making it reach shoulders. He really forgot how miserable he was in the past. he barely ate or moved from this room hell if not for his family he might have been kicked out of the academy.
He finally opened the door which made him instinctively cover his eyes due to the blinding light. After a few seconds of doing so he finally adjusted to this and pulled his hand away yet he still had his eyes half closed seemingly not yet comfortable about this. He was able to see the street outside with small houses across the streets. Neighbours were preparing to go out for work while some were walking out their dogs.
Below him he noticed some students waking up to leave meet with their family or just go out in general while some maybe for their club activities due to it being a weekend. The thought of a club more his eye shine as he remembered something. He slowly descended the stairs and started walking around the academy not many really paid attention to him and even those that did just ignored him as if he was just like any stranger they saw in their whole life. Suddenly a screen popped out of nowhere in front of me making him stop in his track.
[Welcome hunter]
[ The hunter will be given the system and some of it's functions earlier then the other hosts as a reward from one of the £$!%&*)&%"!@]
"she really did invest a lot on me, didn't she ?" He said quietly before looking at his stats.
name: Aiden

strength: 13

dexterity: 40
endurance: 12
intelligence: 10
available points to distribute:
10
He looked at his stats in disbelief. He didn't know he made this big a fall in the past. if he remembered before three months his stats would have been all at the 40's except his dexterity which would have been at the 70's. Having stats at the 40's made someone comparable to athlete while having stats at the 20's made someone comparable to an average human being. Right now Aiden was below average except for his dexterity. He finally decided to stop looking and kept making his way to his destination. Which was an average looking dojo with the sign saying "Archery club" written above it.
As He entered the dojo he started to hear the familiar sounds of the bow strings being pulled and arrows being shot and hitting its targets. He could tell he was getting some odd looks as if he was the elephant in the room. Yet he didn't want to waste his time on kids he had better things to do.
"Aiden?"
He heard a feminine voice call out to him from behind yet it was as if all of this happened yesterday making his expression turn into one of disgust before he controlled himself and left. but I ignored her and kept walking. He finally found the room he was looking for and without wasting time he just knocked on the door and waited for an answer which it didn't take long for him to hear yet another familiar voice.
"Come in"
He held the door handle tightly feeling his hand becoming tighter due to how tight he was grabbing it before he twisted it and entered.
"Jake I swear if you broke ano-" The one sitting on his desk seemed like he was doing some paperwork while not patting him an eye. He seemed to have assumed he was one of the students as he spoke but as he lifted his head to continue his words were cut off when he saw who entered.
"Mr Barron? I don't think you are in the right place." He said before he went back to doing the paperwork. He wasn't really interested to hear any petty requests from him and will not entertain it.
"Uhh I'm pretty sure I am though. Isn't this club meant to teach archery?" He asked while scratching the back of his head. This made the couch to look up from the papers yet again and scan him. He looked miserable, his body was which lead him to attempt to decline him before the notice the fire igniting in his eyes. When was the last time he saw this determination from him? This made made him rethink what he was about to do.
"Wait in the field outside." He said while sighing he didn't know if this was a good choice to bring him back but at the same time those eyes told him how serious Aiden was.
"Thank you coach!" Aiden said cheerfully before leaving his office not giving the choice to even change his mind.
Outside of the office Aiden closed the door behind and started heading to the other door that would take him to the training field of the club. it was on the other side across the exit. Yet trouble knew how to find him as he noticed a couple of guys block the door to the training field making sure not to hide the aggressive looks they had for him.
"Woah woah now shouldn't you be saying hello to fellow friends Aiden?" He heard a snarky voice from behind and when he turned he saw someone wearing the archery outfit with a bow in his hand. He hand dark blue hair and his face just gave anyone the feeling to just punch it.
"Damn you look so different! I almost couldn't believe it was you until some said so!" He kept shooting his passive aggressive comments at Aiden but all he got was Aiden's confused expression.
"Who are you again?" Aiden asked seeming even confused at how this guy was acting all buddy buddy with him out of nowhere. The guy in response was just flabbergasted by this statement instantly silencing him!
"Hey you can't be-" The guy pulled himself together and tried to regain control of the situation but Aiden didn't really let him finish as he didn't really have the time or energy to entertain this.
"Oh well if I can't remember you that means you are not that important." Aiden said in the most friendliest tone further injuring the guy's ego. "So are you going to tell your guys to move or Should I move them?" Aiden asked and this time he didn't sound friendly he sounded really really fed up with him and if looks can kill then the look Aiden was shotting at him could.
Of course the group standing at the door did not like how Aiden spoke about them. It was as if he saw them as nothing but their leader's dogs! One of them was really irritated he approached Aiden seemingly wanting to teach him a lesson of respect and oh boy Aiden would like to do the same but sadly....
"I thought I told you to wait outside Aiden" Said the coach standing behind the guy leading them making him jump from his place.
"Yeah well seems like they really wanted me to catch up so I couldn't" He spoke as looked at the group standing near the door and the one getting close to him but stopped knowing better than to piss off his coach.
"Jake may I know why are you not training? Do you know nothing better than to destroy equipment and acting like a child?!" The coach was not having it with Jake he was already causing lots of trouble for him and honestly if not for his talent with the bow he would have been kicked of the club a while back.
"We weren't doing anything teacher! I thought he was lost or something he never said anything about going there!" Jake spoke nervously trying to come up with any excuse but he wasn't really that good at lying and certainly not against his teacher.
"You are staying here for an extra hour I will make sure your fingers bleed!." His teacher kept it going he really wasn't the kind that took kindly to people with this type of attitude and if it meant for him to be harsh for them to change he will do it as much as possible. After a few more minutes of scolding the other in the club gathered to see what was happening and noticed how Jake was receiving the usual scolding from their teacher. No one wanted to leave such a show! The dude was annoying!
"let's go." Said the coach to Aiden and went past the group making them shiver and make a run for it before something happened to them too. Aiden didn't really pay much to all of this and just followed his coach.
When Aiden got in he was met with a a small hallway which he could notice a couple bows hanged and arrows in a box. on the side of the hallway he saw an open field full of grass and dummy's across it. It was basic but an ideal place to train someone's skills. He followed behind his coach and took a bow from those displayed while his coach offered him a quiver with eight arrows.
"Ok the test is simple. four dummy's twenty meters distance between each of them. Hit two and you pass hit less and you are out. you have eight arrows only to try, any questions?" The test wasn't that hard to explain and there wasn't even anything for Aiden to ask so he just shook his head. "Start whenever then" The coach continued yet Aiden didn't really understand why he put four dummies if all he needed to hit was two.
[the hunter received a quest]
[Get accepted to the archery club]
[reward:]
[ +10 dexterity]
[ +2 strength]
[ +3 agility]
[new class: archer]
'Now we're talking!' He thought when he saw the rewards. The stats weren't as valuable as getting a class after all as they gave bonus stats as the person levelled up getting a class this early on is like a the best reward that anyone could ask. If someone tried to level up they would only get an increase of all stats by one point. but when the classes level up they get even more than one point.
He picked up his first arrow from the quiver and aimed it his target he could already feel his arm shaking as the bow string was not easy to pull with the strength he had with him. Yet he endured he held his breath while aiming at his target and when was ready he let go of the string hearing the arrow whistle through the air as it hit the target 20 meters away perfectly on his first try!
It had been a while since Aiden used the bow he always have been using a sword due to he always needed to fight demons from a close distance making a bow for him rather useless. Yet he was sure he could hit dummies from such distance making him feel relieved. He pulled out another arrow and aimed it at the second dummy which was even further and this next shoot might be all he needed to get accepted! He held his breath yet it took him longer to aim at this target leading for his arm to shake even more as time passed before he released the string. He heard the same whistle but this time he was two inches away from landing a perfect shot! He gritted his teeth and aimed yet again this time he was familiar with where he needed to aim so his arm didn't shake as much and this time the arrow whistled landing perfectly at its target!
Seeing he had five arrows left and his acceptance secured he decided to just keep going. He pulled another arrow but this time it was a little harder to aim right and it turned out bad as the arrow landed on the target but it was ten inches away! He didn't flatter and kept aiming his bow but it was all to draining for him already he wouldn't be able to pull on the bow any longer if this kept on so he needed to finish this soon. He shot his next arrow and watched it whistle through the air and this time turned out better than before as it landed five inches away! But for Aiden this was not enough and pulled on another arrow. He aimed it again and this time his hand couldn't stop shaking yet he held on and kept aiming his bow.
'Come on' He thought while hopping this arrow would make it and just like that he let go of the string as he he saw the arrow that he put his hopes on whistle through the air before landing on the target. He was holding his breath the entire process before breathing out a sigh of relief seeing the arrow landing a perfect shot! At that point he didn't want to hit the last dummy he knew his limits and now he was already too tired to even pull the string for this.
He turned around to look at his coach that was watching his performance and he was silent not wanting to effect his performance. After a few seconds passed he finally nodded with a slight smile on his face as if he was in thought the entire time.
"Just call me teacher from now on."
