Chapter 143: Fall of Visigoth Cultivators V
But it didn’t matter anymore, whatever the outcome of this war she was still a force to be reckoned with. If she survived, the Rijal clan would get their revenge sooner than with the other members. At this moment, a vast aura erupted from the dazed Alaric with a deafening roar. He was already at the peak of the body cleansing realm. He didn’t have a child of his own and had done his utmost for the clan for over a century.
He had watched over Frideric from when he was a kid. Since he had shown extraordinary talent in the field of the body path when he was a kid, Alaric had instructed him for over two decades. There was a competition on the clan but Frideric came out on top on every evaluation. If it wasn’t for the limitation of their own clan, he was sure to have broken through to the Viscera refining realm which was equivalent to the golden core formation realm. Alaric treated Frideric like his own child and Frideric also didn’t disappoint Alaric.
Until now Frideric had done a terrific job as a clan leader maintaining friendly relationships with both the clans in the city. Among the three major clans, the Visigoth clan was the weakest. If it was not for Alaric and Frideric, the Visigoth clan may not even be a major clan but having Frideric reach the eighth stage of the body cleansing realm, Alaric was confident that the Visigoth clan would maintain this status quo for about a century.
Among the three clan leaders, only Liu Ming was older than them by twenty years. As for Punya and Frideric, they were both under fifty. If not for Punya’s battle strength and later Radha stealing the spotlight, Frideric would have been the strongest of his generation. But since this was a foundation building clan, even the brightest talent was limited to just this.
Even if Frideric had the talent to break through to the golden core formation realm, this was a threshold he would never cross. Even if he had joined some sects, he would have to leave his mortal family and wouldn’t be able to interfere with their daily affair. Unless the clan was facing the life and death crisis, he wouldn’t be able to intervene and even if he had intervened, he wouldn’t be able to cross a certain limit.
This was the rule for all the sect members who had joined from the cultivation clans. And this was the very rule that let them be tolerated by the royal family and it was also a relief for the clans with lower cultivation realms. If the sects started interfering with the daily matters of the clans, then the authority of the royal family would be challenged openly. Even with the turbulent situation in the capital, the sects were not brave enough to interfere with the cultivation clans openly, everything they had done till now was only in the dark.
So when Frideric reaches the peak of the Body cleansing realm, he would be almost invincible on the Lunaris city maintaining the rank of their clan as a major clan of the Lunaris city for almost a century. But the hope had been shattered now and Alaric couldn’t see anything other than red. His aura was going out of control. The flaring aura around him was turning into a red color like his eyes. It was clear that he was going berserk.
The aura around him increased and his strength reached infinitely close to the half-step core realm. It was just a hair’s breadth away. But this strength was still greater than all the cultivators present on the battlefield except for Keshab and the golden core formation realm cultivator of the Thapa clan. Alaric unconsciously circulated his cultivation technique and a jade white sheen was forming all over his body making a nice contrast with a dark-red aura flaring around him.
No one knew why but the aura or qi erupting from berserk cultivators turned dark-red. For Alaric his dark-red aura and white color on his skin were making him look pretty mystical except for the hate-filled eyes that were burning in red. Even though Alaric was not in control, his strength was nothing to scoff at. Every punch of his in this state was enough to send away most of those in the late foundation building realm.
And one thing about berserk cultivators was that they were brought out of obsession so they went after their goal till their life remains. Alaric looked at Kumari and with a loud roar, threw a punch at her. Even though there was a distance between them, the punch created shockwaves aimed at Kumari. In the berserk state, very few could use their signature technique, most of them would rely on their muscle memory and start attacking haphazardly.
So even if they used martial arts, it would be the first one they had learned or the one they had been practicing for the longest as being berserk jumbles all the memories. Except for their obsession, they forget almost everything. The punch Alaric had sent out was just a move from common martial arts but due to his strength, it created shockwaves capable of injuring most of the middle stage foundation building realm cultivators.
But for Kumari this kind of shockwave was nothing. With a wave of her hand, the cauldron came in front of her and acted as a shield. When the shockwave collided with the cauldron, it created a ding sound and dispersed. Alaric then rushed toward Kumari with his fist full of aura. When he came near her, a flame wall suddenly appeared before her but Alaric didn’t even bother to look at it and rushed straight through it. Although the flame wall would only hurt his soul a little, the main purpose of this wall was distraction.
Kumari knew that Alaric at his state wouldn’t bother to evade most of her attacks but she wanted to make sure he would not be able to evade it even by his instincts. When Alaric came through the flame wall with his fist full of aura, he was met with the cauldron. He just punched at the cauldron and the cauldron made a ‘ding’ sound and the force was dispersed without creating any shockwaves but it was vibrating like crazy.
At one point it felt like it was going to break but there wasn’t even a hairline fracture even after all that vibration. Even the flame on the top of the cauldron was not spilling. Alaric didn’t care about any of this and just kept punching at the cauldron because he felt that the only thing standing between his revenge was the cauldron so he kept hitting it without caring for the expenditure of his aura. Meanwhile, above Kumari, there was a flame spear floating and emitting a dreadful aura.
