The last Asura Sovereign

Chapter 142: Fall of Visigoth Cultivators IV

At this moment, Kumari waved her hand and the vibrating flame spear went towards Frideric with a ‘swoosh’ sound. The speed of this flame spear was terrifying. The sleek design made of compact flames looked like a red jade and the tip covered in crimson hue just increased its beauty. The lethality was one thing, it was strong enough to decimate most of the cultivators in the foundation building realm, even those at the peak but the beauty and design were superb.

The shaft of the flame spear was of sleek design with some fain grooves running all over it, the blade of the spear was like the standard one and was covered in abstract characters that were in constant motion. The tip was darker due to the characters but otherwise, the spear looked of good quality. With a breathtaking speed, it went swiftly towards Frideric.

Both the Visigoth clan duo were feeling a sense of danger and they both thought they were the only ones who were targeted. As they were bolstering their defenses, a ‘swoosh’ sound was heard far away and within milliseconds of that sound, another ‘boom’ sound was heard near Alaric. The surroundings went up in flames with little pieces of what seemed like charcoal flying everywhere.

This time it wasn’t like Liu Ming because Kumari knew that body path cultivators had strong survival skills when it came to physical damage. She had put her utmost efforts into this spear. And it did prove to be fruitful. When the duo heard the ‘swoosh’ sound, the spear had already attacked Frideric. Although Frideric was able to react he wasn’t fast enough to avoid the spear. This was only possible due to two things.

One was although they were already in the alert stage, they didn’t know where the attack was coming from and if it was targeted at them. And the second was that their surrounding were distorted by the flames and shockwaves so they didn’t know where Kumari was. She was floating in the air constantly shifting her position ever since she had started conjuring the spear. With a little bit of the divine sense, she could change the trajectory of the flaming arrows so it didn’t matter where she aimed, she would always hit the target.

But the situation was not the same with the flame spear because it was hard to control and it almost took her a minute to conjure and perfect it. Where on the battlefield would she get a minute to conjure such a spear and aim at the cultivators who would take such a move head-on? If Frideric had seen the spear just before its launch, he would have been able to dodge it with his reaction speed and even if Kumari tried to change the trajectory, it would be hard for her to aim for the precise location.

Previously she had killed Liu Ming with a sneak attack and the spear at that time was weaker than the present. This time, the aim was Frideric and it was a straight line. It didn’t even take a second for the spear to reach him and impale him right through his stomach. After the spear impaled him, it didn’t go all the way to the back, it just stopped in the middle creating a hole around it, and exploded with great power.

The interesting thing was that when it stopped in the middle of the stomach, its momentum didn’t come to a halt but was transferred to the explosion. Kumari didn’t know about it and even if she knew, she wouldn’t be able to replicate this process with normal attacks. Due to the added momentum, the impact of the explosion, charred flesh in his upper torso, and the ribs were broken into pieces. Even the spine had cracked and turned into a hundred pieces. There was no remnant of heart and even his head popped like a watermelon.

Kumari had willed the explosion to be upward, she didn’t actually do it but just willed and it happened. The upper torso of Frideric was completely blown off. No one knew what reaction his face made, maybe even Frideric didn’t know what his expression was as it happened within the span of a second. From the spear to move from Kumari’s position to Frideric’s explosion, it all took within a second.

Even Alaric only came to his senses when a part of Frideric’s spine hit his face. The piece of bone was still warm. The only remainder of Friedric at the point of the explosion was his lower half which was falling rapidly towards the ground. The shockwaves this time were big and many cultivators looked in that direction. What they saw was the bottom half of a cultivator descending toward the ground and bits of charcoal as well as shiny pieces of bones scattering through the air. The cultivators looking at this scene were chilled to their bones.

It was normal for the corpse of the defeated enemy to be dismembered if the force applied was too strong but exploding a cultivator from inside making their organs fly everywhere was the next level of brutality. Near the origin of the explosion was an old man holding a piece of white bone seemingly in a daze and further away from him was a woman with a cauldron circling around her. The most intriguing thing about the woman was not the cauldron circling around her but the faint smile on her face looking at the scattered remains of her enemy.

Killing was common in the cultivation world but exploding the enemy and smiling at the remains was next level. The cultivators didn’t dare to look at her anymore fearing of antagonizing her and resumed their battle. The cultivators didn’t have the luxury of taking everything that was happening around them as onlookers and since the battle was heating everywhere, they didn’t dare to slack off. As for Kumari, she didn’t realize there was a smile on her face. It had been a long time since she had fought anyone. She was a great alchemist and people would line up to her to gain her favor so it had been decades since she had fought with anyone.

Although she was not a battle maniac like Radha, she had her fair share of adventure in her prime. Many didn’t know it but she played a crucial role in preserving the clan head seat of Keshab and the survival of their clan after beast tide many decades ago. But those days were long gone for her. She had been engrossed with alchemy for nearly half of a century cutting almost all contact with the outside world. The smile that formed on her face was due to reminiscing her past adventures with Keshab but the cultivators looking at her mistook it for brutality.
