The last Asura Sovereign

Chapter 140: Fall of Visigoth Cultivators II

Frideric knew that with his body defense, the flaming arrows could create little damage, and even if they exploded and the impact shocked his vital organs, it would take only a few moments before he would be good as new. It was the attack on the soul that created a problem for him. If he used a lot of aura to eliminate the crimson hue on the flaming arrow, it would be counterproductive and would be emptied of aura in no time.

Although the aura recovered fastest among other qi’s, there was still a limit and they couldn’t go on perpetually, every little recovery creates a little strain however insignificant on their consciousness. If he had a good defense against soul attacks, then he wouldn’t have to worry about the flaming arrows so much but little by little the damages caused in his soul would stack and then it would be a big problem for him.

It was that damned crimson hue that made him wary of Kumari. As for the impact of the explosion from the armor, he concluded that it was only a one-time thing because the shield just shattered into numerous pieces. He didn’t know if it was Kumari’s ploy or something was on the play here but as long as he could avoid the crimson hue, he would have nothing to fear from Kumari. After all, as a body path cultivator, he was no stranger to pain. Alaric too covered his body in a jade-like sheen and was ready to face Kumari head-on.

They had realized that although Kumari was strong, as a single person, her qi was limited. If the duo could drain her qi, then she would be a sitting duck. Although her body was strong, it didn’t seem like she had cultivated the body path. Both the Visigoth clan cultivators then rushed towards the flaming arrows. The six arrows made a swoosh sound and appeared before Frideric. He used his fists covered in aura to smash them. Alaric also came near Frideric and punched two arrows. The arrows losing their momentum started to explode.

At the moment of the explosion, the duo realized that although the impact from the explosion would hurt them, the crimson hue embedded in the flaming arrows was spent and the explosion was only fire. They were not afraid of the fire. They had walked through lava to temper their body so this little explosion was nothing serious for them, at most they would break a few bones. As long as the crimson hue was spent, they could withstand the impact of the explosion. The remaining two arrows were also stopped and they exploded.

This time they chose to brace for the impact. The result was just a little shaking of their inner organs. This much damage was acceptable. Due to the damage from the crimson hue to their soul previously, they were scared stiff as any injuries to the soul were fatal for those with low soul power. But for the bodily damage, as long as it was not grave injuries, they would heal eventually on their own. After taking on the full impact of the explosion, the duo looked at each other and smiled. They knew they had found the weakness of Kumari.

Although Kumari could use a lot of crimson hue on the flames, it would also use a lot of her qi, and other than the crimson hue, the duo from the Visigoth clan had nothing much to worry about. And it wasn’t like the crimson hue was invincible, they just had to spend a lot of aura to erase it. It was more troublesome than lethal. This was now the battle of attribution between the three cultivators. As long as they were able to keep up with Kumari, they would have an advantage in the recovery of their aura.

The duo looked at each other and circulated their cultivation technique once again flaring their jade-like aura. Kumari had also realized this weakness she had. But what the duo didn’t know was that she had to spend only a little bit of her qi to produce the crimson hue and the flames. She was only limited by the amount of crimson hue she could bring out at once without spending too much of her qi. Up to a certain amount, she didn’t have to spend much qi to create a crimson hue.

If they knew the real grade of the cauldron and its true power, they wouldn’t have thought of draining her out of qi. Seeing the duo raring to go up against her, she waved her hand and conjured seven blobs of fire. She could have added more but this was her limit if she wanted to control the flames like her hands. The seven blobs of flame turned into arrows with a concentrated crimson hue on their tips in a second. She was getting more proficient in manipulating the crimson hue with each try.

The flaming arrows once again flew swiftly towards the duo who took it like a champ. This time four arrows went to Alaric and three went to Frideric. They punched all the arrows and the explosion although not big, was enough to send strong shockwaves. The impact from the explosion did shook their internal organs a little bit and blood flow was somewhat interrupted for a second but it also took them two seconds to recover from it.

Their skin was charred from fire but with a bit of aura, they would be able to regenerate the skin. This much damage was acceptable for them. If they could avoid the damage to their soul, then they had a hope for victory or at least holding on till the Thapa clan cultivators could finish off Punya. Kumari once again waved her hand and seven more blobs of fire came out from cauldron. After being sent away by Alaric, the cauldron had just turned around and was floating beside Kumari as if it were her loyal guardian.

There was not a crack, not even a trace of the punch from Alaric. The seven flame blobs once again turned into arrows with crimson hue on their tips with a few abstract characters barely visible on them and they flew towards the duo of Visigoth clan. The Visigoth clan cultivators once again used their aura to brace the impact of the explosion after they punched the flaming arrows. This cycle went for around ten turns. Kumari would wave her hand and the same thing happened ten times. The duo hadn’t even moved from their place.

They were just punching the arrows and minimizing the effect of impact. They wanted to change the pace but Kumari was like a machine, she sent seven arrows towards them every two seconds and it was within these two seconds that the duo had to punch the arrows and take the impact. They couldn’t even avoid the impact of the explosion as the arrows exploded right after the point of contact.
