Chapter 139: Fall of Visigoth Cultivators
The two cultivators of the Visigoth clan looked at Kumari with a terrified gaze. The fall of Liu Ming signaled that they would be next. Even when they had more number of cultivators and a golden core formation realm cultivator in their midst, the main people who made this scheme had both died. It was the Ming clan who had approached them first.
The Ming clan showed them the benefits, their plan, and the consequences if the Rijal clan was left unchecked. The Ming clan had already contacted the Thapa clan and needed the Visigoth clan for resources and a little bit of manpower. The Visigoth clan were reluctant at first because they were simple-minded people who loved to fight but war was entirely another thing for them. Under the persuasion of the Ming clan, they finally gave in and agreed to attack the Rijal clan.
After seeing the reinforcement, the Thapa clan had brought, the Visigoth clan became more confident about surviving this battle and the next to come under the umbrella of the golden core cultivation clan. But now the two strongest people from the Ming clan were dead and the killer was targeting them. They knew for sure even if the Thapa clan won the battle today, the Lunaris city had lost a lot of cultivators on both sides.
Even after victory, it would take a lot of time and resources to recover what had transpired today. If some other elders died today, then the Ming clan would fall from their ranks of large families. Even with their foundation, it will take decades before they reach their former peak and who is to say they would be able to protect their foundation without strength? There were still many clans with modest power that weren’t involved in this war today.
It looked like the bystanders would be the ultimate winner no matter who won today. As for the result, it would be great if they could only survive to see tomorrow. Both the cultivators from the Visigoth clan had only one thing on their minds, it was to survive tonight to see the sunrise tomorrow. The Rijal clan seemed to be hidden pretty deep and if the Thapa clan were willing to lend a hand, it wouldn’t be hard for both of them to survive but the Thapa clan elders were busy attacking Punya. It looked like they were both screwed.
The two cultivators looked at each other and understood without saying anything. Now only thing left for them was for at least one person to survive today so that they could still protect the clan. Even if it was just Frideric, he would still be strongest in the Lunaris city after the Rijal clan members. And it was sure the Rijal clan members were going to die today because the strength displayed by them was enough for the Thapa clan to take them seriously.
The Thapa clan had now realized that if even a few members of the Rijal clan survived today, they had the capacity to enact revenge in the future. So to avoid future problems, the Thapa clan would surely use their trump cards to erase the Rijal clan. At least the Rijal clan would be gone today, both the cultivators from the Visigoth clan thought.
Sensing their impending doom, it was kind of a bittersweet moment. Kumari looked at the two from the Visigoth clan and waved her hand. This time the flame armor wrapping her became undone as there was no need to guard for any sneaky soul attacks and for the physical attacks she could conjure scales instantly at the point of impact. The flame from the armor converted into a blob of fire with a crimson hue and was circling around her like a satellite.
She was manipulating the flame and she converted the half portion of it into a few arrows and the remaining took the form of a shield. The shield was nothing spectacular, just a flat surface on one side and another covered like a dome-shaped structure like a convex mirror of half a meter radius. The convex side where the crimson hue was concentrated had abstract characters running around but the intensity was lesser than the arrows.
Kumari looked at it and just let it be as she knew her realm wasn’t high enough to understand the characters. The two Visigoths also started preparing for the attack. They poured all the aura they had on their fist and prepared to go all out. Alaric was once again blocked by the annoying cauldron. He once again put all his aura into his fist and circulated his cultivation technique covering his entire fist into jade like sheen making it brighter and brighter.
This time he punched the cauldron on purpose. As for Frideric, he was waiting for the cauldron to move away so he could go straight for Kumari. He knew he would be blocked by the shield but if he could make the shield explode then Alaric could get a chance to attack Kumari. Just like they had thought, the cauldron was blown away for a few meters this time. It was vibrating non-stop and Alaric also felt bones on his hand bruise a little bit.
He was surprised as even if the cauldron was a top-tier second-grade artifact, it wasn’t enough to bruise his bones just by taking his attack. In the second grade, very few things were capable of that. Frideric moved instantly towards Kumari with his hand full of jade-like sheen. Just as he had predicted, the shield came on the way and he punched it with all his might. This time, the shield made a creaking sound as if it was finally going to shatter. Lo and behold it did shatter into numerous pieces of flaming dots.
Previously when he attacked Kumari, there was full support of armor, and the force was dispersed all over it and he still managed to bruise her bone. But now he was able to shatter the shield with his full punch. He rapidly moved away to avoid the explosion but the flaming dots just vanished in the thin air as if they were fireworks.
He even paused for a second to see if there was some hidden mechanism left behind the flaming dots and they would suddenly come back and explode. But after a moment he realized he had overreacted a bit. The pain from the previous explosion was fresh on his mind. At this moment, the flaming arrows hovering around Kumari swooped down towards him. Alaric who had come to his side warned Frideric about the arrows.
He looked and saw six flaming arrows coming straight towards him. He knew he would be able to avoid some but not all of them so he once again circulated his cultivation technique and this time the jade-like sheen covered all over his body.
