Chapter 127: Sudden Changes V
The murmur he heard was soft but it was laced with killing intent and bloodthirst. Looking at Amrit he knew Amrit was not in a condition to even move a little bit. He was even surprised as if what he heard was just rustling of the air or maybe the cacophony of the battlefield had messed up with his ears. When Amrit spoke previously, he had done so with great effort. Even moving his lips was strenuous.
Amrit was just standing there, his legs firmly planted on the ground and this was the support Amrit was standing on. It had only been a few minutes since he took the attack but even with his recovery speed, Amrit was unable to heal his internal injuries thus his malnourished appearance.
He wasn’t even able to draw more blood from the battlefield to heal himself as he had to expend a bit of his aura and soul power to control the puddle of blood inside the Thapa clan’s young master. The murmur the elder had heard was ‘Let me send the Thapa clan my present.’
The elder was stunned because he didn’t know what the present was and what Amrit could send him to his state. The elder about to attack Amrit stopped and moved towards his young master to prevent any sneak attacks. He knew the chance of a sneak attack was low but he called Amrit’s bluff. If something happened to the young master on his watch then he would have no face to show in the clan and he would die before his age runs out.
But when he reached near the young master, he felt a sense of danger. He began to use his divine sense and scanned the surroundings for any sneak attacks and even scanned Amrit but he found nothing except for the sense of danger which was increasing by the second. The young master of the Thapa clan had a bewildered expression on his face.
He wanted to ask the elder why he stopped attacking Amrit when he had a clean shot and only one attack would have done the deed. The elder was still looking here and there when the sense of danger reached his peak, his body hairs standing but what he found shocking was this sense of danger came from his young master. At the last second, he managed to change his position a bit away when he heard a bang sound followed by crystals of blood raining towards him.
He looked in the direction of the sound and saw a lode of bloody crystals where his young master was standing previously. The lode seemed to be in vague human shape but at night, these blood crystals reflected the moonlight and starlight creating an enchanting scene. After looking at the mesmerizing blood crystals, the elder looked around it and saw bits and pieces of flesh and robes of what appeared to be his young master.
A few of his bones were protruding within the crystals and a few pieces of the flesh were hanging from some crystals. The shoes were strangely intact and at the top of the crystal structure, there was a wig-like thing. The elder couldn’t comprehend what was happening. He couldn’t register what happened and didn’t know where his young master went.
What happened was when Amrit left the puddle of blood on the young master’s body, there was little of his own blood mixed within. If he only used the Bloody Retribution with his aura, it would take a long time before he could corrupt most of the blood. For cultivators with high realms, they have more control over their bodies and can easily erase the foreign aura from their bodies with little effort. But since the young master of the Thapa clan was injured heavily and had purged the corrupted blood from his hands and got his body back under his control, he didn’t bother to check every drop of his blood.
He didn’t have that much free time. Little chunks of flesh and pieces of the robes were stuck onto the elder but he still couldn’t figure out what happened at the moment he heard a bang sound. He probably knew that it was from his young master but his heart and mind didn’t want to believe it. First, he hadn’t seen any techniques that could turn a cultivator into piles of bloody crystals, and second, everything around the young master was under his scrutiny so there was no way anyone could have sneaked past him without leaving any traces.
Even a Golden Core Formation realm cultivator wouldn’t be able to do that. If there was someone capable of sneaking under his divine sense in such close proximity, then many of their clan members would have died already. The only thing ringing in his ears right now was the bang sound and murmur he heard from Amrit.
He finally accepted that his young master was no more when the blood crystals began to melt and turned into blood droplets and these droplets started flying towards Amrit. He turned towards Amrit stiffly. He wanted to confirm if everything that had transpired had anything to do with Amrit with his own eyes.
The blood droplets reached Amrit swiftly and entered his body from the cracks. In an instant, the cracks began to heal rapidly. The malnourished body was gradually regaining previous vigor. Although Amrit was not fully healed, there was some improvement in the injuries. The mangled bones on his right hand were aligned in a normal way and the charred remains of the skin began to fall off being replaced by the new jade-like skin.
His aura gradually recovered to almost half of his reserves. His soul power was a little low and his qi reserves were almost empty but on his cheeks, color had returned. He still had the maniac smile and crimson eyes while looking at the elder. Amrit didn’t know he had a maniac smile on his face and if he did he would try not to smile anymore because right now he would be afraid of his expression.
It was the expression he didn’t know he could make. The elder looking at the recovering Amrit finally realized everything was this young man’s fault. He should have killed Amrit on the first chance. If he had killed him swiftly, none of this would have happened and his young master would still be fine. If he had known previously that there would be such a sinister technique hidden in this small clan, he would have made the utmost effort to destroy this clan from its roots.
Such a technique to recover with another cultivator’s blood was categorized as an evil technique by the righteous factions. The Thapa clan wouldn’t have to spend so much manpower and planning on destroying this clan, every so-called righteous faction would take up their arms for glory. His heart was wailing with regret.
