The last Asura Sovereign

Chapter 121: Changes in the Battlefield X

But within a minute of fighting, Amrit was gaining the upper hand when using his skills because his halberd was longer and his grade of martial arts was higher and not to forget his insane battle instincts. The Thapa clan cultivator was confused if he was facing off against a battle cultivator at one point.

Amrit hadn’t shown his trump cards till now and from his aura, he seemed to be at the qi sensing realm. If he had treasure to hide his realm while fighting, then the treasure should at the very least be in the third grade. There were barely one or two third grade treasures in the Thapa clan of Helas city. It was unimaginable for a small clan in a third tier city to hold such artifacts. They don’t have the ability to keep it.

And the cultivation technique or the halberd technique was something he had never seen, it was at least on par with their clan’s techniques if not stronger. And the fighting style, although Amrit was improving by the second, he seemed someone with less experience at first glance. He was probably young and if he was this strong then he was probably with some background. Thinking of this, the cultivator from the Thapa clan inferred that Amrit should be from another city, probably a second tier one, and even if he was not from a clan he could be a disciple of some powerhouse. It would be better to be lenient than to make powerhouse an unnecessary enemy.

While Amrit was gaining the upper hand, the Thapa clan cultivator stopped for one second and drew back two meters. He looked at Amrit without any disdain and said “Who are you? There should be no one in this city as capable as you. Why are you meddling in our clan affairs? If you leave now for the respect of your background, I will let you leave unscathed.” Amrit looked at the Thapa clan cultivator without saying anything.

He knew that defeating this cultivator would be hard let alone killing him. It was good that he thought Amrit was from outside and from a prominent clan. This way no one would suspect when he uses all three cultivation paths. Till now, his qi was covered by aura and no one here had any idea two paths could be perfectly combined. When a person without enough mastery in manipulating both paths uses them together it will disrupt the attack.

Many had tried that but almost all of them failed and some who had mastered gave their success to the cultivation technique. But in the second-tier city, there were not many who cultivated two paths let alone mastering both completely. It was difficult to master one path and even with all those advantages, Amrit still had to master the soul path otherwise he would be able to contend with the cultivators at the peak of the foundation building realm.

Amrit just looked at the Thapa clan cultivator without saying anything. Since he was having an upper hand he just flared up his aura and infused it to his halberd. The infused killing intent was not doing any significant damage to directly affect the battle’s situation. After creating the Bloody Retribution technique, Amrit was almost incorporating every aura attack with this technique. It didn’t consume much of the aura but the cultivator from the Thapa clan was wary and would always erase Amrit’s aura from his body as soon as it landed on him.

If he could send some of the aura into the cultivator’s body, he would be able to corrupt his blood without him knowing and burst it at a crucial moment gaining victory and if fortune favored him, it would be the end of that cultivator. Amrit used nine nether steps and reached the Thapa clan cultivator in an instant. He swung his halberd and slashed at the Thapa clan cultivator. The cultivator had not let down his guard and responded immediately.

Thus began the second bout of skills as they had already spent most of their qi reserves. Even though they were battling with skills, their normal attacks were stronger than the cultivators at the initial stage of the foundation building realm. After battling for another few minutes the fight became rather boring. The Thapa clan cultivator was already angry because Amrit didn’t heed his words and even after lowering himself, attacked him without saying any word.

Since they were both out of qi reserves, he felt that the battle could not go on. He already knew Amrit was cultivating body path so even if his qi reserves dried out, then he would be as good as dead. He distanced himself once again and looked at Amrit “This battle is not going anywhere let’s finish this with a last move.” Amrit was also feeling the same.

At first, he found the battle interesting because he was constantly improving and absorbing the experience but after a few clashes, the improvement had slowed down until it plateaued. He felt that there was no point in continuing this battle but he was still wary of the trump cards the enemy had. He didn’t even know the full identity of the cultivator. His first move the Bloody retribution had infiltrated the body of the Thapa clan cultivator but it was not enough to kill him from inside. Although there would probably be injuries, they may not be fatal enough.

Amrit had no idea if he could kill this cultivator but he nodded and injected three-quarters of his aura as well as about one-quarter of his total qi into the halberd. His qi reserves had barely recovered to half when he had to use them once again but this was also fine as he knew the cultivator was in a worse state than himself. When they both were preparing for their final bout, the Thapa clan cultivator sneakily used his storage pouch and recovered a pill and another item. The pill was a qi recovery pill which he had stored for later uses but he felt this moment was crucial.

So he used the pill to recover almost half of his qi. Amrit was busy manipulating the uneven amount of aura and qi into the halberd and he could just watch as the opponent used a qi recovery pill. Previously he had used the same amount of qi and aura so it was easier to balance both but now since one was in way greater amount than the other, he had to make some effort to maintain balance.

The opponent was using almost all of his qi on this attack which was even greater than before so Amrit had to put more effort this time. He had already used the second move of the heavenly halberd for defense so the enemy should be wary.
