The last Asura Sovereign

Chapter 101: War VI

What happened was that the first killing of their same species had unlocked some restraint on his bloodline. Although he had the blood of the Asura clan flowing inside him, it was a bit different from the other Asura clansmen. There were probably no Asura with pure bloodline left in the world, even if they were they were definitely not in the world of Isyethnas.

He himself was not aware of it and wouldn’t be for a long time just what kind of bloodline was the Asura’s. What he just went through was the initiation of the ceremony for young Asura clansmen. The Asura had the tradition that when a youngling of the Asura clan came out of age they would have to fight a cultivator major realm above.

When they can defeat an opponent major realm above them, the bloodline will bless them and activate itself further sublimating. It was believed that this was the gift to the Asura clan for proving their worthiness as a battle clan from the dao itself. What Amrit just experienced was the recognition of the bloodline. When it happened to the Asura clan members, there would always be elders present to make sure nothing went wrong as recognition from the bloodline was one of the most sacred rituals for the Asura clan.

But when Amrit got recognition from the bloodline, there was a backlash from the heavenly dao of the cultivation world. The heavenly dao couldn’t let any anomaly be born under it otherwise the so-called perfect existence of the heavenly dao would be history and soon other anomalies would follow. The indifference of heavenly dao was only towards those weak cultivators. For those really strong ones, the heavenly dao could do nothing even if they broke every law it had set.

After some time, the information stopped and he understood he had just set foot on the path of the Asura clan. After getting the information about the ritual, his body came under his control little by little. The retching body began to become normal, the qi pathways that had stopped previously started flowing ever so smoothly and the soul power was once again in harmony with everything. Amrit felt his body further sublimate and felt that he had reached the limit of the qi sensing realm.

Although the barrier to the foundation building realm still existed, he knew it was just a matter of time. If he could survive tonight, he would have no problem breaking through to the foundation building realm in a month. After that, his strength would skyrocket almost becoming invincible below the golden core formation realm. As Amrit inspected his body and found no anomalies, he looked around the battlefield. The two cultivators were still battling. The deacon from the clan was fighting the invader with all his might.

Thankfully the cultivator was not from the Ming clan because the soul attacks from the soul attacks were hard to defend and Amrit was not in shape to defend anything a while ago. The cultivator attacking was from a minor clan maybe the same as the one Amrit had slain. He looked at the ground and saw the corpse of the cultivator he had slain. He bowed towards it and thought “Thank you for making me feel powerless. I will always remember this feeling.”

He picked up the halberd that had fallen previously and injected his qi into it. His qi was now covered in a bloody crimson hue and as it covered the halberd, the halberd emitted a low humming sound. He used the first move of the nine nether steps and instantly appeared before the invader who was fighting with the deacon. He slashed the halberd towards him which was stopped by the invader’s sword. Due to the power difference, the invader was pushed a few steps back. Although Amrit was still in qi sensing realm, his basic attacks incorporated both the qi and body path.

So it was easy for him to push back a cultivator who had just broken through to the middle stage of the foundation building realm. “Thank you, deacon for saving my life. I want to personally fight him.” Amrit looked at the deacon and said with a smile. Being covered in blood, with bloody crimson qi radiating from his body, smiling and the pearly white teeth only added the horror to anyone who watched him. The deacon didn’t mind the state of his body and looking concerned, asked “Young master are you fine now?”

The deacon didn’t see how easily Amrit had killed the previous cultivator and he still hadn’t registered how he repelled the opponent he was having trouble keeping up with a few steps back. Amrit looked at him still with a smiling face and replied “Yes I had a sort of breakthrough back then. Now I am fine, in fact, stronger than before.” He looked at the deacon and then at his shocked opponent and said “I want to fight him.”

The deacon wanted to say something but Amrit had already dashed towards the invader. The invader only knew Amrit was a genius in the qi sensing realm and had a high chance of reaching the foundation building realm before twenty-five but looking at the situation it didn’t seem true. He had thought that the previous killing of his clansmen was a fluke. If even Amrit had this much strength, then it was unknown what the Rijal clan’s trump card would be. This might have been a mistake even with all those preparations.

As the invader was thinking Amrit was already before him slashing with his halberd. The halberd was coming at a tricky angle, neither horizontal nor vertical, the invader had a gut feeling that no matter how he stopped it, he would get hurt. And it was true, Amrit had used a huge amount of qi in this attack, and with 12 variations of heavenly halberd’s first move, the attack was indeed in tricky angle.

The invader trusting his instincts, activated a defense talisman. A dark brown colored barrier enveloped the invader and stopped the attack. Instantly, a few cracks were formed on the barrier. This was the earth attribute talisman capable of withstanding attacks from late-stage foundation building cultivators.

If he had not trusted his instincts and used the talisman, he would have been a goner. He was shocked, the aura Amrit emitted was still in qi sensing realm but his attacks had reached the late stage foundation building realm. He even looked at the halberd and found it was just a low-tier second-grade halberd. He had an absurd idea that the young master of the Rijal clan was possessed by some old monster.

Without thinking any further, he prepared to flee because he had already seen the outcome. The cracks increased and finally shattered. The invader was about to rush towards another direction when two blade-like structures decapitated him. It was the ribbons on both sides of the halberd.
