Chapter 429: Encountering the "Megaparsec" Again (Part 2)
In the central branches of the Formula Ring, a fingernail-sized fruit slowly grew.
Blood Fruit, a miraculous fruit that can enhance the Formula Ring of the Huan Clan.
When the spaceship narrowly escaped the sea of fire, everyone was startled, a dark red solitary eye menacingly staring at them.
After the shock, they realized this was the culprit behind the destruction of Divine Tree Star — the Constant Star.
Under the colossal scale of the celestial body, the spaceship was so tiny, cautiously turning its bow, darting away as if slipping away toward the distance.
Like an ant passing by a human deep in thought about the scenery, thinking the human might harm it, cautiously skirting a few centimeters away, escaping at a laughably slow speed.
The spaceship finally sailed out of the direct cover of the Constant Star, turning its back on that solitary eye, plunging into the deep space.
"Alright!" Kert sighed in relief, though a Second Rank warrior, now feeling a bit exhausted.
"Entering autopilot mode next," Tina manipulated a few levers, pressing complicated buttons, "This ship is quite outdated, it can only use light pressure and the gravity of major planets for acceleration, it will take about two hours to completely escape the gravity of the Constant Star."
The General retracted his enormous form, entered the spaceship, casually put on a spacesuit.
He held a fingernail-sized blood-red gemstone, upon closer inspection, it was a fruit, its surface adorned with intricate flame patterns.
Light flowed over the patterns.
A perfect piece of art.
"What is this?" the Princess glanced at the item in his hand, her tone still distant.
The General was about to speak.
"Ah! Ah!" the baby emitted meaningless cries in this direction, hands grasping at empty space.
The General looked at the fruit in his hand and walked toward the baby.
The baby's large eyes were locked almost as if gazing at the fruit, drooling crystal bright saliva from her rosy lips.
"Tch!" the Guard lifted the baby a bit further, disliking her drool.
"Hand her to me." The responsible person freed up a hand since the spaceship didn't need cooling.
The Guard quickly handed the baby over to her.
The responsible person held the baby in her arms, also taking the fruit from the General's hand, without any resistance from him.
The baby grasped her mother's hand, as if grabbing a branch, trying to reach for the fruit on the branch.
"Ah, ah!"
The baby let out a final warning cry as if to cry if not given.
Buzz!!
The Formula Ring expanded, a strange artifact floated at the center of the Formula Ring, the responsible person ignored the baby's anxious cries, tossing the fruit into the artifact.
The pristine artifact turned blood red.
"Ah—" the baby cried heartily.
"This." The General hesitated, almost speaking.
The responsible person's slender index finger pointed at the baby's bangs, a gentle cool airflow blew from the fingertip, lifting the baby's bangs.
The baby giggled again, reaching out to grab the responsible person's finger, pea-sized tear droplets still clinging to her face.
The General nodded, showing an expression of appreciation for a warrior.
Suddenly feeling a chill, he turned to see the Princess coldly staring at him.
The General smirked slightly: "It's my first time seeing a baby outside the incubation chamber."
"Are you planning to keep her?" the Princess asked.
"What do you mean by 'keep'?" the General retorted.
"Our child, you were ready to destroy it, what has changed now?"
"That was just an embryo without flesh and thought, and saying to destroy it was because it hindered you at the time."
"..." The Princess took a deep breath, calming herself before continuing, "So, are you going to adopt this child?"
"Adopt? The child is mine to begin with."
"... Have you taken a liking to that woman?"
"It has nothing to do with who the child's mother is, my child naturally stays with me, and if we're talking about women, you are my only woman."
"Then why did you have a child with her?!" the Princess questioned.
"It's not me, it's another possibility of me with another possibility of her, as for me, Zhou, the youngest General of the Huan Clan, will only be with the Princess."
The Princess's anger slightly subsided: "I don't like that child, I absolutely won't allow her to stay by my side."
"Aren't you both too self-righteous?"
The General and the Princess turned toward the voice, seeing the responsible person gazing coldly at them, the baby in her arms still trying to grab her mother's finger.
"This is my child, I will take her away." The responsible person said.
"If you can manage that." The General smiled.
The General's smile flickered away, he spread out his hand: "Give her to me."
Tina and Kert moved in like hunting wolves, slowly closing in on the person in charge and the guard.
The guard stepped forward, blocking the person in charge.
The Princess' eyes flickered, silently observing the tense standoff before her.
The General lowered his hand, his voice turning cold: "Do it..."
"Ah, ah!" The baby who had been unable to grasp its fingers suddenly cried, drowning out the General's command.
The person in charge also retracted their cold gaze.
She did not offer her finger to the baby.
Behind her, a strange vessel emitting a red light turned back to a cold white, and some blood-red liquid flew out of the vessel.
The person in charge took out a strange bottle from a fur coat, and as soon as the bottle was taken out, the baby stopped crying and eagerly reached for the bottle, pursing as if tasting something.
The Huan Clan had long eliminated baby bottles, but the person in charge had read ancient literature on the matter.
She filled the bottle with the blood-red liquid and carefully placed the bottle's mouth at the edge of the baby's lips.
The baby immediately grabbed the bottle, opened its mouth wide as if it couldn't aim properly, and laboriously placed the bottle's mouth into its mouth.
For a moment, the only sound inside the spaceship was the gurgling of the baby swallowing the liquid.
The General withdrew his gaze from the person in charge to look at Kert: "Can you still find that transport ship?"
"Yes." Kert nodded, "I have the coordinates of that ship."
"General," Tina said, "if we want to continue to pursue the target, we need a ship capable of jumping; using 'Random Equation' is too slow. I suggest going to the nearest planet to seize one."
Being too slow was a euphemistic way for subordinates to critique their superiors.
The General said: "Then let's head to the nearest planet, I must destroy that ship!"
"Understood!"
The two returned to the control panel, Kert unfolded a Formula Ring, and one of the Formula Rings looked like a lake, ripples forming within it.
After the ripples, two blue dots and one red dot appeared within the Formula Ring.
"The nearest civilized planet, coordinates...k2671,N558,S4457,D455," Kert reported.
"Received," Tina replied casually, inputting the coordinates on the ship and pushing the throttle.
The spaceship's power gradually increased, and even in a vacuum, it seemed as if one could hear it emit a roar shattering stone and clouds.
Boom!!
The nearby stars disappeared in an instant.
Yet when the perspective was zoomed out slightly, it seemed as if the ship hadn't moved from its original spot.
"At the current Speed, we'll reach the destination in about eight hours," Tina said.
"Rest for a while," the General told the Princess.
Sake Star, Divine Race's main ship, Divine Tree Star—all had gone through consecutive battles and everyone was already fatigued.
The Princess crossed her arms and left the bridge directly.
The General took one glance at the person in charge and the child in her arms, then followed the Princess.
The person in charge and the guard also left the bridge.
This enormous spaceship didn't have an independent ecosystem, considered a "self-supplied" ship; nonetheless, the dining area and bedrooms were very luxurious.
There was even an entertainment room.
"Once we reach the next planet, we'll leave," the guard whispered in the empty automated dining room.
The person in charge shook her head, whispering back: "The Life Ring ship we are responsible for disappeared, we must recapture the stolen Incubation Chamber."
"Do you plan to stay? Can't you tell? The General is determined to have this child!"
"Precisely because of that, he won't dare to act rashly."
The person in charge lowered her head, at some point the child in her arms had fallen asleep.
The General was very tired, next needing to find the transport ship that stole the Incubation Chamber for "revenge," even setting aside the Divine Tree Formula Ring temporarily, taking a good sleep.
When he awoke, exactly eight hours had passed, and he and the Princess walked onto the bridge, finding only Kert and Tina there.
"General," Kert stood up, "the destination of that transport ship is also this planet!"
"Oh?"
"But..."
"Speak."
"But, this planet seems to be the territory of a 'Parsecs,'" Kert said with difficulty.
At this time on the Divine Will Star, the expansion hadn't stopped yet. It was far from a time of enjoyment—there wasn't a law of 'once members of the Divine Will reach adulthood, they could be allocated land.'
Who could obtain the title of "Parsecs" in wartime were naturally all warlords, lords of territories.
In other words, Third Rank Divine Will Warriors.
