The King of Black Fog

Chapter 427: Closing In on the Enemy Ship

The General looked at the Princess.

"Take it away? I don't understand what you're talking about."

"The Life Ring spaceship has no coordinates, no one can find it, we can escape." The Princess gazed directly at the General.

The General was puzzled: "A cell that hasn't even produced flesh and blood or thoughts makes you so cowardly?"

The Princess said nothing, slightly lowering her head. Without a helmet, both the General and the person in charge could see the confusion on her face.

"I understand your feelings." The person in charge crossed their arms, "This is why we cannot leave the genes behind, even the Huan Clan has emotions."

The General looked at the Princess.

"You should know," he said slowly, "I don't allow anyone to win against me. That transport ship, I must destroy it."

After a moment of silence, the Princess raised her head: "I understand."

The helmet emerged from the collar of her armor, the light covered her beautiful face and then turned into a metallic entity.

"Simply destroy the embryo." The General suddenly said.

"No!" The Princess, outwardly calm, suddenly raised her voice in objection.

"Letting a cell, which doesn't yet have thoughts, affect you is not wise. It will make you hesitate, move slowly, and it will get you killed."

"But it might also save my life!" The Princess took a step forward, her tall stature allowing her to slightly look up to meet the General's gaze, "I will live for the child!"

"Calm down," the General placed his hand on her shoulder, "You misunderstood me. Whether it's destroyed or preserved, as long as it's beneficial to you, I approve of it—in my view, you're more important than the child."

The Princess's tense body finally relaxed.

She nodded slightly: "I know, I was too excited, also... I don't know why, maybe using the child as an excuse, I'm just scared and want to desert."

"My Princess isn't a coward." Said laughingly, "After we destroy the transport ship, we'll escape, you, me, and that cell."

"It's a child!" The Princess punched the General's abdomen.

"Let's talk about it when he grows a brain."

The Princess seemed to roll her eyes at him, then turned her gaze to the person in charge: "In the next operation, the General and I will do our best to protect you and the spaceship. After the mission is completed, you'll send us to the nearest civilized circle."

"Let's escape together."

"What?" The General and the Princess looked at the person in charge.

The person in charge's tone was flat and nonchalant: "I violated the Life Ring's rules; I have no reason to stay here waiting to die. As you said, this ship left no coordinates, I can pilot it anywhere."

The General suddenly clapped.

The two looked at him instinctively.

The General said: "This is the true Life Ring, a spaceship that even internal clans cannot contact; this is the seed of civilization."

The person in charge looked at him for two seconds, then ordered the spaceship: "Seal all genes, pause embryo synthesis, stop baby growth."

The lights went out one by one, as if something was stepping forward.

Click!

The last trace of light vanished, leaving only the faintest glow inside the baby tank in the hydroponics center, and if you didn't get close, you couldn't even see the baby itself.

The three seemed to stand in a dim Light Sea.

"If we lose the war, I will rebuild the Huan Clan, as compensation for my betrayal." The person in charge said casually.

The General found her way of speaking very peculiar.

"Perhaps we can negotiate," the Princess laughed, "The Marshal Team might allow us to escape, as one of the means to prevent unforeseen racial disasters. Of course, if we're really caught, they will certainly sentence us to death."

"You could talk to your grandfather." The General suggested.

A point of light appeared in the dark Light Sea, the General pressed his personal terminal.

{General, Princess, the time has come.} Tina's cold voice came from the other side of the terminal.

"Got it." The General turned off his personal terminal, and said to the other two, "Tina is a brave female warrior."

The three left the nursery room, gravity weakened, and they floated in the center of the hexagonal corridor like they were flying.

"Kert looks a bit dumb." The Princess said.

"I saw him at Locke."

"I know," the Princess said with a hint of amusement in her voice, "The Battle of Locke, my fiancé's battle of fame—where the General single-handedly repelled the Divine Will's seven assaults, and when the support ship arrived, the planet Locke was reduced to rubble—I will make it a bedtime story for our child."

"Don't get it wrong, I was just a lieutenant back then." The General chuckled.

He added: "Kert is one of the few soldiers who survived that war, he was hit by the Divine Will Golden Spear three times, the fourth almost took his life, but he didn't give in. He pulled out a spear and used it to kill another Divine Will, severely injuring one—I saw it happen with my own eyes, so I saved him."

"I heard the Divine Will Golden Spear never misses, how many shots did you take?" The Princess asked.

"I damn near became a porcupine!"

The Princess laughed heartily, unable to control her floating body, the General grabbed her arm to prevent her head from hitting the wall.

"This... this I also have to tell the child! Hahaha!" The Princess laughed so hard her body went limp, completely carried along by the General.

The General noticed the person in charge looking at him, he also looked over, but the other quickly avoided his gaze.

Amid the Princess's laughter, the General raised his helmet, and the three floated into the bridge and landed on the ground.

"Let's begin." The General ordered.

The extraction of Mier Metal released Mier secondary gas, a transparent gas that becomes extraordinarily soft solid when subjected to powerful impacts.

Everyone sat in their positions.
