The Incredible Hulk

Chapter 6: Wakanda Bullshit Is This?

[The power of plot is a bit strong in this one.]

The gauntlet, damaged, glowed ominously as Thanos pointed at the rubble.

From the rubble, Hulk emerged first. He wiped blood from his lip and roared. "NOT UNTIL YOU'RE DOWN, PURPLE MAN!"

Tony stumbled to his feet, his suit sparking from the damage. "Banner, big guy... we might need to not blow up the planet in the process."

"PLANET'S FINE! HE'S NOT!" Hulk charging again.

Thanos raised his gauntlet, but Strange intervened, opening a portal directly in Hulk's path. Hulk disappeared into the portal for a split second and reappeared behind Thanos, catching him off-guard. Hulk grabbed Thanos by his bald head and threw him several meters away.

"Nice one, Doc!" Tony shouted, firing repulsor blasts to cover Hulk's assault.

Spider-Man swung down from a nearby wrecked structure, landing on Thanos's back and spraying webs around his arm to immobilize the gauntlet. "Just stay still for, like, two seconds!" Peter pleaded.

"Annoying insect," Thanos growled.

"Is this all you've got? Mere parlour tricks and brute strength?"

Thanos grabbed Hulk.

Thanos grabbed Hulk mid-charge and the green giant tried to break free, but Thanos was ready. Thanos lifted Hulk off the ground and slammed him down.

 Hulk groaned, momentarily stunned.

"Is that all you've got?" Thanos growled, standing over Hulk. "Mere rage and brute strength? You're nothing but a mindless beast."

Hulk struggled to rise, but Thanos didn't give him the chance. He grabbed Hulk by the arm again and delivered a punch to his side. Hulk let out a roar of pain, staggering back as blood dripped from his mouth.

"Big guy's in trouble—cover him!"

Spider-Man swung in, firing webs at Thanos's face to blind him. "Hey, ugly! Over here!" Peter shouted, dodging a swipe from the Titan's free hand.

Thanos snarled and ripped the webs away, but the distraction was enough for Strange to intervene again. A glowing portal opened beneath Hulk, pulling him away from immediate danger.

"Banner, stay down for a moment!" Strange called. "You're hurt!"

Hulk re-emerged a few feet away, clutching his side. "HURT DOESN'T MEAN DONE!" he growled, slamming his fists together and preparing to charge again.

"Big guy, hold up!" Tony shouted. "We need a plan!"

Hulk snarled, the pain only fueling his rage. "PLAN IS SMASH! NOW MOVE!" Despite his injuries, he charged once more, determined to take Thanos down.

"Hulk, let me take over," I asked him.

Hulk paused mid-charge. His glowing green eyes flicked down to his hands, then back toward Thanos, who stood ready with the gauntlet sparking ominously.

"NO!" Hulk roared. "THIS IS MY FIGHT! HE HURT ME—HE WON'T DO IT AGAIN!"

"Hulk, listen to me! You're strong, but we need a strategy. He's not just about strength—he's got the gauntlet."

Hulk growled, his hands clenching into massive fists. "STRATEGY DIDN'T WORK LAST TIME! SMASH WORKS!"

"Last time, he beat us," I reminded him. "But this time, we're smarter. Let me guide you—we'll take him down together. You don't have to do this alone."

Hulk hesitated, his breathing heavy. For a moment, it looked like he might ignore me entirely, his primal anger consuming him. But then, he growled in frustration and slammed his fists into the ground, causing the earth to quake.

"FINE," he grumbled reluctantly. "BUT YOU SCREW THIS UP, NEW MAN, AND I TAKE OVER FOR GOOD."

I felt control slipping back into my grasp, the rage was focused now—a weapon, not a liability.

"Alright, Thanos," I said, my voice a mix of my own and Hulk's deep growl. "Let's finish this."

"Tony, what's the plan?" I asked him.

"Doc, can you open a portal to the Sun?"

Strange shook his head, sweat dripping down his face. "Not without frying half of us in the process. We need precision. Stark, the gauntlet—it's cracked. Use that."

Tony nodded. "Got it. Banner, you're the distraction. Keep him off balance, but no solo heroics. Spider-kid, keep those webs coming—lock down that gauntlet hand. Strange, get ready with containment spells. We're ending this now."

"On it!" Peter called, firing another web at Thanos's arm.

"READY!" Hulk growled. I could feel the power coursing through us. We leapt toward Thanos, fists raised.

Thanos met us mid-charge, his gauntlet-clad fist slamming into ours. The shockwave sent rubble flying.

"Stay put!" Peter shouted, pulling the webbing tight.

Thanos roared, the gauntlet crackling with energy as he tried to free himself. But Strange was faster. Sigils glowed in the air as he conjured a golden cage of spinning light around the Mad Titan, pinning him in place.

Now! I pounced on Thanos, and let Hulk take over. "Hulk... smash," I told him.

Hulk roared with unrestrained fury, his massive fists slamming into Thanos's chest with the force of a freight train. The Mad Titan grunted, the impact cracking his armour.

Thanos attempted to raise the gauntlet, but Peter's webbing kept it pinned down, the crackling energy from the damaged stones stuttering uselessly. "PURPLE MAN IS A LITTLE B****!"

"Keep at it, big guy!" Tony yelled, firing repulsor blasts at Thanos's exposed arm. "Aim for the gauntlet!"

Hulk stomped forward, planting his massive foot on Thanos's chest to pin him down. "HULK. SMASH." He brought both fists down on the gauntlet, striking directly at its already fractured surface.

The result was instant. A shockwave of multicoloured energy erupted, tearing through the battlefield and throwing everyone back.

The Infinity Stones scattered across the ground, their power momentarily inert.

"NO!" Thanos roared, reaching for the stones. But before he could grasp them, Spider-Man swung in, yanking one away with a well-aimed web shot.

"You humans don't understand!" Thanos shouted.

"HULK UNDERSTANDS THAT YOU'RE STUPID, PURPLE MAN!"

Hulk cut him off, slamming his fists together to send a shockwave rippling through the air. "HULK DOESN'T CARE WHAT YOU THINK! YOU LOSE!"

Spider-Man swung back, clutching one of the scattered Infinity Stones. "Uh, Mr. Stark? What do we do with these things? They're kind of glowing a lot!"

"Strange, containment plan—now!" Tony called, his repulsors aimed at Thanos, who was trying to stand despite the massive dent in his armour.

Thanos lunged toward the stones, but Hulk intercepted him with a punch to the jaw that sent him sprawling. "STAY DOWN!"

Tony landed beside Hulk. "Alright, big guy, let's not break him too much. We might need answers."

"HE DOESN'T GET ANSWERS. HE GETS SMASHED!" Hulk raised his fist again, but I pulled him back, regaining control.

"Wait," I said aloud, the dual voice of Banner and Hulk melding into one. "He's beaten. He's got nothing left."

Thanos slumped against a pile of rubble, his breathing laboured. His gauntlet was shattered, his armour ruined, and his aura of invincibility all but gone. "You fools," he rasped. "Without the stones, you cannot stop what's coming."

Tony narrowed his eyes. "What's coming? Spit it out."

Thanos let out a chuckle. "You'll see soon enough."

Before anyone could react, Strange waved his hand, encasing Thanos in glowing chains of light. "Not today," Strange said firmly. "We'll deal with him, but first, we secure the stones."

Spider-Man landed nearby, his mask slightly torn. "Uh, so... we won, right? Like, this is the part where we take a group picture or something?"

Hulk began laughing uncontrollably, "HULK SMASHED PURPLE MAN. HULK WINS. HAHAHA!"

"First, let's focus on getting back to Earth, Thanos probably sent his forces to get the Mind Stone, which your friend possesses." Strange told us.

"We do have a way," I announced as I pointed to the space stone lying there.

Tony turned toward the glowing blue Space Stone lying amidst the rubble.

"The Space Stone can get us to Wakanda instantly. Strange, can you keep Thanos contained long enough for us to regroup there?" I asked him.

Strange glanced at the glowing chains binding the Mad Titan. "I can hold him for now, but not indefinitely. The containment spells are draining."

"Then we don't waste time," I said, stepping toward the Space Stone. "But we'll need a secure way to use it. Without the gauntlet, it's unstable."

Spider-Man flipped down next to me. "Uh, Mr. Banner? The last time someone touched one of these, it didn't go so well. Any, you know, gloves lying around?"

Tony's face lit up as an idea struck. "Wait a second! My suit! The nanotech can create a temporary containment field. It won't hold for long, but it'll let us activate the stone safely."

"Do it," I said. "We'll get Vision and the Mind Stone, and then we end this."

Tony's armour began reshaping part of the damaged suit into a containment unit. "Alright, just... don't blow us all up, okay?" He carefully placed the Space Stone inside, and the glowing blue energy stabilized slightly. "There. Should hold long enough for a one-way trip."

Hulk grumbled. "HULK DOESN'T LIKE MAGIC ROCKS."

"Noted," I muttered. "But you're going to like what happens when we use it."

Strange raised an eyebrow. "You realize Wakanda is already under attack, don't you? Thanos's forces won't stop until they have all the stones."

"Then they'll find us waiting for them," Tony said. "We're not losing this fight. I mean we just took down the big bad."

"Everyone hold on," I instructed as I activated the Space Stone using Tony's makeshift device.

As we descended into the chaos, the sounds of Wakandan warriors battling Thanos's invading forces filled the air. The clash of steel and blaster fire echoed, accompanied by roars of strange, alien creatures.

By the way, Hulk has something to say to you. "GIVE ME SOME STONES!"
