The Happiness of Deidara in Naruto

Chapter 29: Chapter 29: First Mission (Completed)

Chapter 29: First Mission (Completed)

If Diidara had the chance to return to Earth, he would find a way to kill AB. Why was it that Naruto and the others completed their weeding task in an afternoon, while he and his companions had been busy since morning, with the night slowly falling?

Fortunately, the employer was a good person and treated them to a simple meal at noon. It really was a simple meal!!

A rice ball, not wrapped in seaweed, just sprinkled with a little salt, and a cup of plain tea – that was it. Diidara looked at the lunch in his hand and couldn't bring himself to throw it away; after all, it was all he had.

Damn that Yutou! Since they started working, Yutou had disappeared. He probably went home to eat or something!

Every time Diidara thought about how Yutou did nothing but still took half of their earnings, his heart ached.

Ugh, forget it! After all, he's a jōnin and their surface-level teacher and protector! If they encountered an insurmountable danger, they would still have to rely on him!

Even though the Shadow Clone Technique had its flaws, it was indeed quite useful! Diidara's clay clones could only perform simple actions, meant to confuse the enemy at best.

Maybe it was time to improve this clay clone technique. If it could be made to resemble a real person like the shadow clones, many strategies could be utilized to greater effect.

But for now, it was best to finish the task at hand.

All three of them were working hard, and considering that Kurotsuchi was a girl who never slacked off at work, Diidara pulled her to the side and voluntarily helped her finish her area of the task.

In the end, Akatsuchi left first, and after he left, Kurotsuchi went back to work, helping Diidara. They both worked until late before returning home.

Yutou snorted when he saw the two come back, then told Diidara to hurry and go rest. Kurotsuchi shot an unhappy glance at her father, but Diidara didn't argue; he just said goodbye and left.

After all, after a day of hard labor, anyone would be exhausted. Diidara just wanted to have a nice bath and then lie down in bed to sleep.

After Diidara left, Kurotsuchi began to scold Yutou, "He saw me working hard and voluntarily helped me, but we only got back so late! And you didn't even let him have a cup of tea, just kicked him out! It's so infuriating!!"

Yutou rolled his eyes and helplessly said, "My dear girl! If someone is tired, they should be allowed to go home to rest! We would be the ones disturbing them. Plus, I told your mom to prepare several of your favorite dishes, hurry and eat before they get cold!"

Kurotsuchi was indeed feeling a bit hungry. She walked over to the dining table and saw the array of delicious dishes. Her fingers couldn't help but twitch with anticipation. Halfway through eating, she suddenly thought that Diidara hadn't eaten either. Should she bring him some food?

With that thought in mind, Kurotsuchi immediately sprang into action. If she waited too long, Diidara might start eating those nutrient-less cup noodles again.

"I'm going out for a bit! I'll be back soon!" Kurotsuchi said as she picked up a few easy-to-carry items and quickly headed out, leaving Yutou in a daze with just two sentences.

Diidara had just finished his bath and was planning to check the fridge for something to eat. If there was nothing, he would have to settle for a cup noodle. Today, he really didn't feel like going out.

While searching for something, Diidara contemplated whether he should buy some ingredients and try cooking for himself. But as soon as the thought arrived, he quickly dismissed it. Cooking seemed like an activity that wasted time and materials, so he decided to avoid it!

However, he could find a place to go barbecue! That was a task he was quite familiar with and didn't require much skill.

Thinking this way, Diidara felt like he should find some time to go out, buy some barbecue supplies, and then take Kurotsuchi with him for a barbecue picnic. As for Akatsuchi, he thought that it was better to leave him out; he probably had more important things to deal with anyway!

With these thoughts, Diidara took out a box of barbecue-flavored cup noodles...

Even without hot water, he felt helpless. Living alone was truly inconvenient! He had no choice but to go boil some water. The hunger that tortured his weary body made him wish a delicious meal would just fall from the sky at that moment!

Knock knock knock!

Diidara opened the door to find Kurotsuchi standing outside, looking somewhat dirty and disheveled. She had just rushed home for dinner and came here to deliver food to him without taking a bath first.

Seeing the food in Kurotsuchi's hands, Diidara felt a surge of warmth in his heart.

As he took the food, Diidara grabbed a piece of paper and started wiping away the dirt from Kurotsuchi's face, feeling like he was taking care of his little sister.

Kurotsuchi's face flushed red as she stood still, savoring this moment of warmth.

"Alright, hurry back and take a shower! Girls should always pay attention to their appearance; otherwise, you might not find a husband in the future!" Diidara teased, tossing the used tissue into the trash bin.

Kurotsuchi didn't say anything; she merely ran off with a red face.

Watching Kurotsuchi's figure disappear, Diidara returned to his home, turned off the boiling water kettle that was making annoying sounds, put the unopened cup noodles back in the fridge, and began to enjoy the food Kurotsuchi brought.

"This is really delicious!" Diidara praised, then returned to his bed and started training his chakra. But soon, he became drowsy, laid down, and fell into a deep sleep.

Thus, Diidara's first mission in his ninja career came to an end.

It wasn't transporting supplies during a time of war, nor participating directly in battle, and it definitely wasn't an assassination of a feudal lord; it was simply weeding, pulling out weeds amidst a vast expanse of green crops.

In his dream, Diidara vaguely remembered that they hadn't collected their payment for the task yet. Oh well, they could just go tomorrow to claim it.

Akatsuchi lay in bed, recalling the scene from that afternoon when Diidara helped Kurotsuchi pull weeds, and couldn't help but feel a surge of emotion.

What an excellent girl Kurotsuchi was; who wouldn't like her? He felt he liked her too! But what with his looks and strength, he didn't compare to Diidara.

It was better to observe them silently from afar! After all, they were the best teammates! They would also become the best of friends in the future.

Being her best friend would be enough for him!

Thinking back to when he first met Kurotsuchi, she seemed to have a good relationship with Diidara from that very start. He was probably attracted to her lively and cheerful personality right from the beginning!

Forget it; being able to be like this made him content. He needed to work harder on his training, so he could protect his teammates and protect her!
