Chapter 474 - Man VS Monk
'What were they talking about?'
'What kind of deal is it?'
"And who is this client?" The last thought spoke out from Blind Monk's mouth as both the announcer and Bone Man looked at him.
They couldn't hear with how the words went with a whisper but it just surprised them hearing the guy talk for the first time.
"What was that?" The announcer asked.
"I said… when are we going to fight?" Blind Monk decided to keep it low for the time being. He knew the answer's going to come sooner or later.
"Someone's edging for a beating here, announcer. I say we let him have it." Bone Man laughed and gave a jab at the announcer.
Yet the man gave him a cautious look, 'Don't fuck up!'
'Who does he think he is to tell me that?' Bone Man thought as the announcer backed away, 'Just because you get to stay in the light for singing doesn't mean you're the boss.'
Bone Man looked at his blind opponent.
'But, I'll show them.'
"That I'm the man!"
Blind Monk heard the low encouragement and the slapping of palms. But he couldn't help but think about the previous words.
'Who in the world would be interested in me?'
His thoughts were cut short as the announcer spoke loudly, "Since both our lovely contestants are here and beaming to fight, let's set the stage for them."
The Announcer pointed at Bone Man, "Ready"
Bone Man gave a sharp smirk.
The Announcer turned to Blind Monk, "You Ready?"
Blind Monk gave no reaction.
The Announcer's smile remained as his hand went up and slammed down, "THEN LET'S GOOOO!!!"
Before the crowd could even start their cheers, Bone Man aimed his palms at Blind Monk and screamed, "Bone Barrage!"
Instantly, tiny but sharp bone fragments came out from his palm and flew at deadly speed towards Blind Monk. The guy already stepping aside as the fragments all hit the cage and stuck half-way through it.
Bone Man clicked his tongue, "Lucky pass." Then smiled big, "Let's see if you can keep doing that, Bone Barrage!"
Blind Monk's leg already pushed away and he went into a circular run as the bone fragments narrowly flew by him. But he didn't stop as the Bone Man's hand moved in his direction with bone fragments following him.
Bone Man laughed seeing him run, "Run monkey, run!"
His laughter came short as his ammo ran out and the barrage stopped. But to his surprise, Blind Monk instantly changed direction and ran towards him, "You think you can fight me!?"
In anger and slight fear, he created chakrams in both hands and threw it at Blind Monk, "Chakram Barge!"
Yet to many surprises, Blind Monk's body moved in a translucent wave as he smoothly turned and avoided the sharp weapons while landing right in front of the guy.
"Wh- What the?"
Blind Monk didn't care as he landed a punch right to his left cheek and immediately punched the other one before giving an uppercut as Bone Man flew up for a second.
That breach of a second was all Blind Monk needed as he gave a rough side kick to his stomach as Bone Man flew back and hit the cage.
"Bam!"
Bone Man fell hard before coughing out blood, "Da- Damn! You fucking bastard, I will kil-"
As he looked up, Bone Man's eyes widened at the sight of Blind Monk already running towards him. But instead of fear, he felt anger and slammed his hands down.
"SPIKE UP!"
Blind Monk hearing the name immediately stopped his advance and jumped back. Right as he did, jagged spikes burst upward from underneath his previous position.
"Hah!" With Bone Man's next roar, the spikes continued bursting upwards as Blind Monk dodged, stepped back and jumped up the cage and rebounded back in a safe spot.
"You are one slippery guy…" Bone Man muttered as he quickly got up and wiped the blood dropping from his mouth, "But all that slipperiness is about to end right no-"
"OHHHYY!" Suddenly, most of the crowd stood up from their seat.
"BONE MANN!"
"Don't you fucking lose!"
"I'll sever ye bone meself, ya bastard!"
Bone Man cracked his lips and was just about to curse at the crowd but stopped. His vision landed on the announcer who had a dark look on him.
Right from the start, Bone Man went with attacks that were intend to do real damage. The Bone Barrage and Spike Up were attacks intent on doing great damage, which was one of the conditions he was held not to do.
And Bone Man knew the reason of the dark face… it was the Chakram Barge.
The Attack itself would have severed a body part if not had been fatal itself.
The Announcer suddenly mouthed something as Bone Man swirled it down and looked at Blind Monk.
The guy stood there as if he didn't know where to strike. As if the guy actually couldn't see him.
What Bullshit!
After dodging his attacks so perfectly, Bone Man would never believe that this guy is certifiably blind or that red sash actually does any shit.
"Well, since I can't kill ya…" Bone Man slammed his fists together as bone armor covered his fists and made a screeching sound, "Might as well clobber you."
With that Bone Man ran forward, not with the same speed or elegance of Blind Monk, but his path was full of power as he swung his fist at his opponent's stomach.
Blind Monk dodged but Bone Man wasn't haven't it.
"No, you don't!" He punched with his left and when that was stopped he immediately attacked with his left leg to the knee.
As if foreseeing his move already, Blind Monk's leg went up. Not to defend, but to use to sweep Bone Man's other leg as he slid and fell.
With super reaction timing, Blind Monk's open palm went down to his stomach, wanting to push out the air.
"Bang!"
A low humming sound appeared as the attack was stopped by something hard.
Blind Monk felt from his hands the cold and rigid form of what could be described as a chest made of bones. His hands slid past the grainy-smooth bones that was the armor Bone Man had created long before the punch landed.
"Just because you're blind, doesn't mean you get to touch me like that, YOU FUCKING PUN-"
"Bam!"
Bone Man's scream cut off as Blind Monk punched him right on the face.
"And protecting your chest doesn't mean you saved yourself from my attack." Came the cool reply of Blind Monk as he suddenly felt the ground quack under him.
Blind Monk quickly jumped back and didn't stop until his back was close to the cage.
It was the right call. Because as soon as he backed away, sharp shards and pole like bones burst through from both the ground and Bone Man's body which could have ended him right there.
"That's IT! I'm gonna Kill You!"
…
Up in the VIP Lounge…
I stood with a fascinated grin as Alice laughed, "It looks like your dog broke from its chain."
Barnical clenched his teeth slightly and cracked his knuckles, "D- Don't worry boss. I'll stop the match immediately and take care of that punk."
"Wait"
"Hmm?" Barnical saw Henry's raised palm.
"Since the fight's taken such an exciting turn… it would be rude to cut it off like that."
"Then…"
"Why don't we make it a bit more exciting?" I turn around, showing a greedy look few have lived to tell.
