Chapter 141 Frontline_2

Blake's team was really too conspicuous, catching their attention even before reaching the checkpoint.

Soldiers were already waiting for them around the checkpoint.

Blake glanced and noticed that almost half of these soldiers bore various injuries, indicating they had all been severely wounded on the front line.

During their recovery, some had been transferred to safer posts behind the lines, yet they couldn't rest fully even during such times.

This, Blake reckoned, demonstrated that the situation on the Cohen Country's front lines might be very grim.

A bandaged officer stopped in front of them.

Blake quickly explained their purpose.

However, the officer merely frowned and seriously said, "The situation on the front is tense right now; I can't just let you pass."

"What happened?" A knight clad in splendid full-body armor quickly strode over.

The weaponry and emblem he bore indicated that he seemingly did not belong to the same faction as these soldiers.

Yet for this approaching knight, the surrounding soldiers appeared respectful, making way for him.

Blake looked at this knight and immediately recognized him from his attire.

He resembled Anita very much, proving that this knight must be the Holy Knight of the Holy Light Church, as Anita mentioned.

The officer eagerly explained the situation.

The Holy Knight looked at Blake, and then Blake raised his right hand, from which a gentle Holy Light emanated.

"Holy Light?" the knight exclaimed.

The nearby soldiers were equally astonished.

"This should prove that our intent is not dangerous, right?" Blake said.

The Holy Knight gazed at Blake, finally paying serious attention to this group.

Upon closer inspection, it was truly astonishing.

Humans, dwarves, half-elves, is that a round-eared rat person?

This group of humans rode on land birds; someone managed to tame such a frenzied creature as a mount, quite impressive.

"Do you belong to the Gray Mountain Dwarves? How come you're of all races?"

Though the group had more dwarves, other beings were mixed in too; he hadn't heard of the Gray Mountain Dwarves interacting with such peculiar races.

Moreover, if he wasn't mistaken, the leader seemed to be a knight capable of using Holy Light.

A crowd of dwarves accompanied by other races, led by a human?

"We are Night Watchers." While Blake knew others might not have heard of them, he still declared their affiliated organization.

Kana had stated early on that they aren't a secretive, shadowy force but one to openly showcase their ideals and power.

"Night Watchers? Never heard of them... Wait a minute, a knight using Holy Light, you wouldn't happen to be a Bather of Light, would you?"

The Holy Knight seemed to have realized something, widening his eyes.

Blake nodded: "A Holy Knight named Anita referred to me like that."

"Anita? I recall now; she mentioned to us before, even brought up the Night Watcher organization.

Seems you indeed hold critical information to report; let them through, allow them to come in."

The Holy Knight had clearly identified Blake and his group's identity, inviting them in.

Upon entering, they found themselves in what appeared to be a large camp, encircled almost entirely by wounded soldiers.

Judging by the injuries on these soldiers, they had just been withdrawn from the front lines, and there were many supplies stacked in abundance nearby.

This alone reveals the intense level of warfare.

Perhaps due to Blake's Holy Light, the Holy Knight regarded them as allies.

"Allow me to introduce myself: I am Fage, Fage Ges, an ordinary Holy Knight of the Holy Light Church."

"Blake, a Night Watcher."

Fage smiled and nodded: "Night Watchers, huh? You seem to be an emerging organization."

He's not particularly interested in Night Watchers; this world is vast, and strange little groups continually materialize.

Nothing worth understanding.

"As you've seen, this is the logistical camp of Gray Rock Fortress, where most of the wounded are transported first for treatment or… well, waiting to die."

"Waiting to die?" Bobo, riding on a land bird beside Blake, frowned in confusion.

However, neither Blake nor the dwarves behind him seemed surprised; it's an all too normal occurrence.

Often, casualties suffer high mortality rates due to insufficient medicine, inadequate treatment methods, or lack of mana, leaving grievously injured soldiers without proper care.

"Indeed, furthermore… Alright, let's not discuss it; Anita the knight has arrived."

Perhaps hearing news from this side, a female knight strode over briskly.

None other than Anita, long unseen.

She waved and greeted Blake and his team.

"Long time no see, the Holy Light within you… has grown brighter." She smiled.

Blake nodded: "Thanks to His Highness."

"Speaking of Kana, why haven't I seen him? And why have you brought so many dwarves? There's even a half-elf."

Though it has only been half a year since their last meeting, Anita felt unfamiliar with all the individuals behind Blake.
