The Forensic Doctor Better Than a Detective

Chapter 180: The Secret of the Shoes

Upon hearing this, Mr. Li and Mr. Zhao were taken aback.

Criminal investigation aims to find the killer, why suddenly look for shoes?

After a brief contemplation, Mr. Zhao asked seriously, "Mr. Jiang, is there a trace of evidence on his shoes?"

Mr. Jiang nodded.

"We just came back from the Crime Scene and discovered that the bloodstains at the scene had been transferred."

"Bloodstains transferred?"

Mr. Zhao looked puzzled, turning to Mr. Li.

Mr. Li's mind quickly conjured up all the scenes at the site.

In his impression, there were slight traces of drips on the floor inside the female victim's room.

However, the area covered by those blood droplets was minimal.

Moreover, the floor in the victim's home was quite dusty.

He recalled noticing that those bloodstains had already dried out en route to the scene.

Visibly, there was no apparent difference.

After a long while, Mr. Li asked, "I remember there were only slight blood drips on the floor, not pools of blood."

"Can bloodstains really be left on the shoe soles?"

As soon as this question was posed, Mr. Zhao also showed a look of confusion.

"Exactly! I remember the blood droplets at the scene covered a small area."

Jiang An said gravely, "Mr. Li, Mr. Zhao, the initial analysis of the scene basically points to the suspect with six fingers wielding a stool to strike the female victim's head."

"I carefully observed the bloodstains on the ground, and by the way they formed, they should have dripped from a height."

"However, some droplets' shapes differ from the others."

"I suspect that after the blood dripped onto the ground, someone stepped on it immediately."

"At the same time, as the blood dripped down from the head, it might have dripped onto the suspect's shoes in addition to the ground."

Following Jiang An's explanation, Mr. Li and Mr. Zhao seemed to understand.

Both nodded gently.

Moments later, Mr. Li spoke, "I think what Jiang An said makes a lot of sense."

"Since there were blood drips from the victim's head at the scene."

"Then, during rapid body movement, the blood drips from the head likely dripped onto the suspect's shoes."

"Simultaneously, during the suspect's movement, it's very likely that blood adhered under the soles."

After a slight pause, Mr. Li said seriously, "This case has reached a bottleneck in the investigation."

"We must exhaust all possibilities and secure solid evidence to finally bring the two suspects to justice."

Finally, Mr. Li said, "Let's go! I'll issue a search warrant right now."

Mr. Zhao looked up at the window and said softly, "Mr. Li, the office staff responsible for stamping left after hours."

"No problem! Get the office person in charge immediately."

"This case can't wait any longer."

"Every extra minute of delay adds difficulty to solving the case."

Mr. Zhao still wanted to say something but, considering the urgency of the investigation and earlier embarrassment facing the two suspects,

he looked determined, patted his chest, and said, "Mr. Li, I'll contact the office director right away."

Twenty minutes later, a stamped search warrant was handed to Jiang An.

Jiang An glanced at it, nodded.

"Mr. Li, we'll set off immediately, and keep in touch if anything arises."

Mr. Li turned to look at Mr. Zhao.

"Bring a few more guys; let's all go together."

Jiang An said, "Mr. Li, collecting the shoes isn't complicated; please wait here for my news."

Mr. Li quickly waved his hand.

"Mr. Jiang, despite coming to Han City, you didn't act as if you're a guest in a foreign land."

"Instead, you treated our case as your own investigation, which makes me feel quite indebted."

"For the upcoming search for shoes, I must accompany you."

"The site investigation might have dangers; we must ensure your safety."

Jiang An looked determined and nodded slightly.

"Alright then!"

Thirty minutes later, two black business cars stopped at the entrance to Liu Dong's house.

Unlike when Liu Dong was initially apprehended, it was pitch dark all around.

"Now, light a lamp in the yard."

An elder was sitting in the yard, smoking a pipe.

Mr. Li stepped forward and waved his hand.

"Hello! We are the police from Han City's criminal investigation team."

Upon hearing they were police, the elder quickly stood up and walked over.

"Hello, officer!"

"I was just about to report; my grandson Liu Dong is suddenly missing."

Mr. Li and Mr. Zhao exchanged glances.

The elder seemed to sense something, then asked, "Do you know where he is?"

Mr. Li nodded, "He is being investigated at the criminal investigation team in the police station."

Instantly, the elder staggered backward.

If Mr. Zhao hadn't stepped forward to help, he likely would have sat on the ground.

"Why is he being investigated at the police station?"

"There must be some inside story."

"Liu Dong is a good kid, always obedient."

The elder mumbled to himself.

Mr. Li walked up, held the elder's hand, and said seriously, "Elder, please rest assured."

"Our law enforcement will be just; if your grandson Liu Dong is innocent, we will clear his name and have him back home soon."

Old tears welled up in the elder's eyes, and he nodded hastily.

"Then I will rely on you officers."

"Although Liu Dong doesn't excel academically, he has always been very filial to us."

"He's a good kid!"

The elder cried while lamenting.

Moments later, Mr. Li took a search warrant from a police officer nearby.

He said gravely, "Elder, to prove whether your grandson is innocent!"
