Chapter 186: [Fight: IV]
Sitting in an open restaurant, as I took a sip of my cappuccino, I felt the bitter-sweet taste seeping down my throat, while an odd feeling of nostalgia took over me.
I miss the old coffee shop by my apartment. I recalled the old days for a brief moment before my attention was brought back to the yellow-haired, blood-eyed guy sitting opposite me. This guy, the strongest guy in this world, looked at me with fascination, his smile never vanished even for a single moment ever since we fought.
"Well. That's the bit about the tower and how it is going to be implemented into this world in a few days," I finished explaining to him about small matters regarding the tower and the tutorial. Not trying to disappoint him, I explained the power levels of the tower and how he shouldn't be too expectant of the early levels of the tower.
For someone like him, the tower's early levels should be pretty boring. But as he climbs, he might encounter more powerful people who will feed his joy meter. Well, I should get stronger in the meantime, too. I don't think he would be stagnant in the tower. And next time we meet, I'd better expect at least a half SSS-Grade if not a peak SSS. I sighed on the inside as I pondered my next steps of growth. As I was reaching to peak somewhat, the growth patterns were only getting more complicated and bizarre.
"I see. I can't wait for the tutorial to begin! And you said that the others would get strong as well, right? Hehe," he gave out a creepy smile at the end there as he looked at those around him.
All those around us, especially the vampires, shuddered hearing that before taking a step back. It was pretty obvious that the vampire king was thinking of nurturing them to get strong only to get a fight to the death kind of scenario. Not something they would have liked to hear, really.
"So, in exchange for providing this information, I have a simple request," I added as I got his attention back to me. His eyes curious, he observed me with great interest while I continued,
"Take care of the kids. I would like them to get strong in the tower."
By the kids, I meant Elliot, Kite and Amber.
While I don't doubt that they would be able to survive the entire ordeal by themselves, with the help of Vampire King they should be able to get stronger much faster than before. Right now, I cannot use them in any way possible, but if things proceed nicely, they can be someone I can count on in times of need.
Let's hope that we don't reach that point. But still, there is nothing wrong with preparing in advance. I mumbled silently before observing the Vampire King pondering on my words.
"Since I am going to nurture them anyway for my own curiosity, sure. I will do it. Though, I would like to add one more thing," he smiled as he took a short pause before adding," I would like to fight with you once again. On a stage that won't hinder our fight."
Let's hopefully never meet again as well. I smiled as I nodded and added," That shouldn't be too difficult."
Slightly pushing my chair back, as I stood up, I then continued speaking," all right. I would be leaving now. Let's meet again at the designated time, shall we? For now, I want to go on a small tour around the world."
I saw him about to say something, but before he could add anything…
[Absolute Relocation!]
I activated my skill.
The world turned black and white as everything slowed down to near zero.
Observing the kids standing at a distance, I didn't think I would need to worry about them. Humans can solve the problems among themselves, and the other species can see to their personal problems as well. And if there were anything concerning Elliot and the others, I believe I can leave it on the Vampire King for now.
All right. Let's spend the rest of my time, touring the world. I thought as a smile appeared on my face.
-Whoosh!
And then I ran towards the nearest city that I could see through my [Mapping].
[Kinetic Mastery!]
Increasing my speed, I then ran even faster than before. My work was to make sure to reach the next city before the mental toll of [Absolute Relocation] takes over me. Though looking at the proper lack of effects on me, I guess my mental capacity was far more than I had anticipated.
-Whoosh!
Running through the woods, the roads, as I crossed the rivers and mountains, I soon reached a high point where I could see the city about a few dozen kilometres away. Then, taking a huge jump in the sky above, I gauged the entire distance to be about 48 kilometres. It was neither too short, nor too far.
-Whoosh!
And then as I touched the ground, I dashed much faster than before. With a smile on my face, I covered at least a few kilometres with each single breath that I was taking.
The mental toll is gradually increasing, huh? I also noticed that the effect of the skill [Absolute Relocation] was slowly compounding. But since I had almost reached the city, I could shut the skill any moment now. Which I did, about a few moments later as I reached in front of the main gate of the next city.
The words 'Welcome to Vatica City' were written on the board, and from the looks of it, this city was at least twice as big as the previous city, and sadly twice as poor as well. It did not bother me though, since I was only going to stay here for a few hours at most.
There was little this world had to offer for me, given its desolate environment and wastelands that covered most of the world. But still, I wanted to enjoy the little it had to offer as well…
Or else I might be bored to death. I pressed a forced smile as I began looking for things that I might enjoy in this city.
