Chapter 4 The miserable original owner
un Jiu retrieved a dagger from the bracelet’s space and pressed it against Jun Qianqian’s mouth. “Open your mouth obediently. I’ll make it quick.”
“Woooooooo!” Jun Qianqian dared not open her mouth, clenched her teeth, and shook her head vigorously.
Trembling with fear, Jun Qianqian stared wide-eyed at Jun Jiu, her terror palpable. In her eyes, Jun Jiu had transformed into a vengeful spirit – a terrifying apparition seeking retribution.
Jun Jiu raised an eyebrow, saying, “If you won’t open your mouth, do you think I have nothing else to do?”
With a quick movement of her fingers, Jun Jiu released Jun Qianqian’s chin.
“Ah!”
“Stop!” Lei Ting yelled, and hurried footsteps approached.
As soon as the dagger grazed Jun Qianqian’s mouth, blood gushed forth. Jun Jiu turned to see a middle-aged man, Feng Luocheng, the head of the branch family, Lei Tian, staring at her in shock and anger. He was someone who had also wished for the original owner’s early demise.
Jun Leitian shouted, “Jun Jiu, you have some nerve! Let go of Qianqian!”
Jun Qianqian wanted to plead for help, but with her jaw forced open and a dagger in her mouth, she could only shed fearful tears and look to Jun Leitian for assistance.
“Why should I let her go?”
“Jun Jiu, how dare you defy me!” Jun Leitian glared.
He had received word of screams coming from the southeast courtyard, remembering Jun Qianqian’s triumphant declaration that she had killed Jun Jiu and intended to set fire to the yard. He wanted Jun Jiu to be erased from existence.
Remaining vigilant to prevent any unexpected changes, Jun Leitian had come running here, never expecting to witness this scene.
Didn’t it mean Jun Jiu was dead?
Smiling at Jun Leitian, Jun Jiu’s face was still smeared with blood, but her smile was eerily beautiful, akin to the grin of a grim reaper, sending shivers down Jun Leitian’s spine.
Jun Jiu removed the dagger and wiped the blood off Jun Qianqian’s face. Watching her every move, Jun Leitian was overcome with terror. Meeting Jun Jiu’s cold gaze, he retorted, “Jun Leitian, as the family head, what right do you have to demand my obedience?”
“You!”
“I recall my identity as a direct-lineage daughter,” Jun Jiu said lazily, “According to our customs, when you see me, you should salute and greet me.”
“Hahaha!” Jun Leitian burst into laughter. “Jun Jiu, are you delusional? You couldn’t even reclaim your body as a useless waste, yet you still aspire to be a direct-lineage daughter? Your parents are dead, leaving behind a good-for-nothing. The Jun family’s support is already an act of charity.”
“Have you forgotten why you were sent away to the branch family?” he continued, sneering. “You offended the family’s eldest daughter and were expelled! Furthermore, your death has been ordered by the family’s mistress. What right do you have to mention your identity in front of me?”
Jun Jiu pondered Jun Leitian’s words, realizing he was correct. She now understood that Jun Qianqian had acted under the orders of the malevolent family matriarch.
“Master,” the voice from the bracelet chimed in sympathetically, “The original owner of this body endured a wretched life.”
Jun Jiu couldn’t agree more. It had indeed been miserable.
Observing Jun Jiu’s silence, Jun Leitian assumed she was frightened. He promptly signaled for his men to surround her.
Leering at Jun Jiu, he said, “Jun Jiu, today will be your end! Release Qianqian, and I’ll make your death swift.”
“You want to kill me? We’ll see about that.” Jun Jiu wasn’t in a hurry; instead, she smiled.
The voice from the bracelet also joined in the laughter. “They think they can kill the master? What a dream! Come on, master, teach them a lesson.”
