The Dungeon Tree

Chapter 37: A Deal

"John, are you and Steven alright? We watched the last round and that kid mopped the floor with you. If it wasn't for that girl with the hammer you would have lost for sure." Ellie said.

"We got lucky. If Bahn decided to go after Julia before fighting us we would have been toast. I need to get stronger so something like this doesn't happen again. I also need to buy a new weapon since Bahn broke my last one." I said. I let out a sigh and turned towards where the blacksmith's shop was located.

I let out a small sigh and went the open the door to the blacksmith's but stopped when I heard someone clear their throat. I turned around to see who it was and saw Bahn with the same cocky smile he had before.

"You didn't think I was just going to leave you alone after the fight did you? We never got to have an equal one-on-one fight did we?" Bahn said, moving around me.

"You're stronger than me. You should know that since you've fought me before. Now what do you want?" I asked.

"I want a rematch with you. I don't want anything big, just a simple fight against you." Bahn said. I let out a sigh and entered the blacksmith's shop leaving Bahn outside.

I was greeted by a man working behind the counter. I waved at him and began searching for a new weapon that would hopefully last me longer than the last one. As I looked around I heard the front door slam open.

"I wasn't done talking! Our rematch will happen after Daz's event ends. We will meet up to the north where the mountains reside." Bahn said.

I turned to face Bahn and looked him in the eyes. In his eyes I saw that he was dead serious about having a rematch with me. I let out a sigh and shrugged.

"You'll leave me alone if I have a rematch with you, correct?" I asked. Bahn nodded his head and walked up to me. Bahn reached his arm for me to shake it. I reached out my hand and shook his, solidifying the deal.

Bahn gave me a smile but it wasn't the cocky one I saw before, instead it was a genuine smile. Bahn brought back his hand and walked out of the store leaving me alone with the person working at the counter.

I walked around looking to see if they had the swords I'm used to but only saw katanas. I let out a sigh and continued looking for a blade. As I walked around I passed by a blade that seemed different than the others. It had some form of writing carved into it. I picked it up carefully and examined the weapon.

"Seems like that blade's caught your eye. It's a beauty I'll tell ya. This katana as you can tell, has something carved into it. What that writing does it allow the blade its own form of magic, separate from what the user knows. There is a catch though, only few people can actually use the weapons to their full power." The man said.

I was intrigued by the katana and looked at the price tag. For something so built up it was worth the same as a normal sword. I made my way over to the counter and placed down the sword.

"Something about this blade just feels right. Here's the amount of velp you need." I said, passing the velp over to the man.
