The Devil's Sweetheart

Morning arrived, Leena woke up to the steady birds chirping and to the slight ruckus happening outside of her room. She skimmed the room in a hazy state, her mind sinking into the surroundings. Realizing that she is living with someone here, her instincts grew up at once. Out of blue, she checked her clothes which were still intact.

Heaving a sigh of relief, Leena got up from her bed and the first thing she did was opening the door of her linked room. She has to pass Devin's room in order to get into the washroom. What kind of stupid house they have built. At least they could have put up a separate bathroom. Irritatedly, she walked into the room but only to find it empty as if there is no one living there except her.

Since she has not shared the room with someone for a long time except the days where she goes and visits the Heacis mansion or her brother, she felt a little strange to live under the same roof. It all ended after her university days. Although Reese is her best friend and they have been living together in the same apartment, Leena still hated to share her space even with her. She loathed that man for driving her into that painful trauma, the dreadful nightmare she couldn't forget even now.

After her friend threw a bomb that she would be sharing a room with someone, Leena instantly denied it even though somewhere in her, she wanted to try and get out of that damage. She reluctantly agreed after her friend's continuous nagging, because it was him. Even though he teases her a lot, never Leena felt his talks offended her. Neither he behaved inappropriately and took advantage of her nor his gaze made her uncomfortable. Quite a gentleman. She smiled.

"Where did he go early in the morning?" She scanned the room but there was no trace of him at all. She shrugged and headed to the bathroom when her stomach was making rumbling sounds asking to feed it with food.

"All right. First fresh up, then food." She patted her shrunken tummy which has digested all the food in the night itself. She sighed and went singing a rhyme along her path.

"Rise and shine, It's time for some wine.

What's the big deal Mr. Banana peel.

Come and dine here Mr. Thorny Porcupine.

Missed your bus Miss Eight eyed octopus.

Spring is visiting to tell a very good morning for me."

Leena was about to open the bathroom door, a large sticky note which was caned to it entered into her eyes.

"Warning darling! Knock on the door unless you want to see your favorite AK DRAGON."

Leena fuzzed reading the entire sentence. For a moment her mind went blank to compose herself. What the hell is that stupid idiot thinking of me? She vented her fury forcefully kicking the door.

"Wanker idiot." She mumbled with rage. Leena pulled off the note and crumpled it into a ball before tossing it into the dustbin. Let him come back to the room, he will see my wrath today.

Devin has successfully provoked her outrage from just a piece of note. Little did she knew, there was more to it. She would be ready to kill him once she enters and sees her gifts in the bathroom.

Entering into the bathroom, Leena looked up to see her beautiful face in the mirror which she does it every day.

"OMG...What are all these." Leena was scared to see little sticky notes staked on her forehead and cheeks. How the hell he plastered all those on my face.

"Morning couch potato! You should get up early and exercise to keep your body fit and healthy like me." Inflamed, Leena pulled the piece of note from her forehead and threw it onto the floor.

"Looking at your obtuse triangle face in the mirror right now? You are the most 'Acute' triangle I have ever seen." It was caned to her right cheek. She clutched the hem of her dress to control the blazing anger she is feeling.

" Yesterday I was a unicorn, today I am an acute triangle and couch potato. Is this the reason he ran away from me so that he can hide somewhere. I will drag him even if he is hiding in the Amazon forest and skin him alive and make sandals with it."

Leena angrily peeled off the other sticky notes from her forehead, cheeks and even her hair Devin did not leave. She barely remembered something was put on to her face, but then again she thought it was a dream in her deep slumber.

"Relax. Enjoy. Close your eyes and sit back until your entire performance." Leena read again and again until she understood the actual meaning.

"Don't forget to brush your teeth sweetheart!"

"What the hell is he thinking of me? Does he have to remind me to brush my teeth also?" Her temper was rising with his Provocations. Vexed, Leena was about to grab her toothbrush, another note fell from the holder.

"I forgot to remind you. A maid came to clean the bathroom without a cleaning stick. So I gladly offered your toothbrush to scrub it. Don't be stingy and use another one."

Leena shouted at the top of her lungs calling him with all the dirty names she could come up with. She scanned the entire bathroom which had pieces of notes stuck everywhere, be it near the tissues board, mirror, she could not come up the places. With a vexed mood, she pulled off everything to read what sort of stupid comments he has put.

"Hello, sweet cheeks." Unconsciously her gaze landed on her butt. On top of it, Devin even added a winking smiley to further annoy her.

"Did he really mean that? Stupid idiot. Don't show up today or I will kill you." She shouted and kicked the bathroom door repeatedly.

"Don't be stingy to use water. Tissues are big issues." Leena grabbed the piece of note which she found near the tissue board.

"Don't be ashamed to fart when you are doing your business. I don't mind the sounds if it comes from you. After all, even rain follows after thunder right?"

"You farts, your brother farts." She crushed all the notes and rushed outside throwing everything on to his room.

"Why the hell he is after me today. What did I do to him? Don't even show up on my premises today I am going to tear you down if I come across you." Without knowing Devin has enraged a beast in her within a span of an hour.

Cursing and cussing, Leena freshened up and went into the hall to see everyone chatting happily. Many new faces were appearing every time she comes down. Despite everyone smiled at her the moment she entered, Leena was looking for only one particular face.

And she found him looking at her with a triumphant smile.

Devin winked at her as if asking if she enjoyed the little morning gift while Leena was throwing daggers at him as if telling, he would be beaten to death once he is back to the room.

But Devin did not mind his little kit. It was not even compared to the bizarre things she spoke about him yesterday. He knew her anger, but he also knew she would not get offended and that is the reason he went a little overboard with his teasing.

"I will hide somewhere without getting caught and sneak into the room when she is asleep.." He thought.
