Chapter 79: Vortex of fate

Suddenly, a loud roar erupted from the choppy sea, and the waves shattered apart. In an instant, a massive explosion occurred beneath the surface, and a terrifying lightning bolt hammered down. After the strike, the water twisted violently before plunging downward. Ultimately, this event created a large vortex that began to pull everything in.

Panic spread across both ships. No one understood why such a horrifying spell had been unleashed. For a brief moment, Cyrus locked eyes with the mad King of pirates, who was laughing maniacally on the deck. This madness made Cyrus realize there was no escape.

Sailors on both ships ran in every direction, cursing and clinging to anything they could find. Cyrus seized the helm, trying to steer the ship away, but it was too late for anything. The fiery projectile that had struck the brig had shattered its magical barrier, and as both ships spun wildly around the massive vortex, gunfire continued.

Cyrus struggled to turn the helm against the current, but the crushing force was so powerful that it broke the helm. The galleon now swirled with the water around a hole that resembled an eternal pit. Gritting his teeth in frustration, Cyrus felt anger boiling within him.

Boom! Boom! Boom!!

Much of the hull of both ships lay in ruins. Many of their cannons were disabled, and some had fallen into the sea. Yet, the sounds of gunfire did not cease for even a moment.

On the lowest deck, horrific explosions reverberated, shaking all the boxes. The air was thick with the smell of smoke and fire. Screams of terror echoed through the wooden corridors.

Cyrus raised his hand, conjuring dozens of fire balls in the air.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

He sent them all toward the pirate ship. Much of the brig's deck ignited, but the magical storm quickly extinguished the flames.

Suddenly, Cyrus noticed that the pirates were carrying an enormous, strange cannon. When it fired, he realized they were targeting the mast. Hooks wrapped around the mast and swiftly tangled with the brig's main mast.

"They want to pull the ships together!!! Cut those damned ropes!!! Watch out!!! They're about to capsize us!!!!" Cyrus burned the ropes with magic, and the crew cheered, but immediately hundreds of other ropes were fired from the brig.

"Damn it!!! Get ready for battle!!!" The sailors grabbed their guns and swords, lining up on deck. Others continued to fire cannons, bombarding the brig with iron shots.

Cyrus ran to Julian and snatched a sword from him. There was no turning back. They had to fight until both ships sank. The captain drew his sword and shouted, "Today is our test! Let's show these damned thieves the courage of royal soldiers, the sharpness of our blades, and the fire of our wrath!"

"To victory!!!!" they all shouted in unison: "To victory!!!" The fire of rage blazed in their eyes, and the lightning's glare reflected off their cold blades.

On the other side, the first mate shouted loudly, "come on!!!! Pull those damned ropes tight!!!" Many sailors, muscles tensed and eyes filled with hatred and fear, yanked the ropes.

Seeing this epic scene, the King of pirates became exhilarated and took a deep breath: "That's right! Suicide means nothing; true redemption is found on the battlefield!"

"My loyal dogs!!! The final scene is set! Draw your swords, sharpen your teeth, scream, bleed, and greet the end of this horrific tragedy with laughter like madmen!"

"Redemption means nothing to men of the sea! We will not die with pride; we will die free, just as we lived free!"

On the brig's deck, many furious men, armed with various weapons, stood before the galleon. As the galleon tilted slightly toward them, they all shouted in unison, "Long live the King of Pirates!!!"

"Long live the King of Pirates!!!" Dozens shouted this simultaneously, sinking deeper into the vortex, waiting for the signal to leap onto the galleon's deck.
