The crimson princess

15 years old

Pov General,

In one place in the Gremory territory, all the families of the 72 pillards remaining are present to participate in the birthday of Dia Gremory. Today she celebrates her 15th birthday, marking her coming of age and entry into the world of politics, which annoys Dia enormously.

At the moment, everyone is seated, listening to a performance by Dia. Around her, there are instruments that play music without anyone touching them. All the adults know that it is Dia who uses her power to play the instruments.

Her music creates an atmosphere that only the nobles can appreciate.

Dia herself is making movements like a conductor guiding her orchestra. But what is magical is that it feels like Dia is dancing to her own music while playing it.

In addition to Dia's beauty, the performance was captivating, giving the impression that it was a goddess—or rather, to them, a demon queen—standing before them.

(Author’s note: the music is Violin Concerto No. 2 by Félix Mendelssohn Bartholdy)

The most astonishing part is that some devils truly believed it because, after all, they had never seen Dia before today and wondered if she really existed. The only proof of her existence that people could notice was her engagement with Ruval Phenex, which was mysteriously canceled.

Her performance continued with new music and another entirely created by her. With each change of song, the instruments were dispelled, and others took their place.

Those who knew her power knew that the crimson instruments were created by her POD, with runes allowing them to solidify and change colour, making them look like real instruments rather than ones created from her power.

The performance lasted more than 2 hours, but for the devils, it felt like only 15 minutes had passed.

It was met with a real salvo of applause, showing their appreciation for the performance.

??: "Again, please."

Dia: "I’m sorry, but I don’t have enough music to meet your demand yet. I will work hard to make you enjoy my next performance even more."

The devils got up because it was high time to start Dia’s birthday party.

Sera and Rimuru come towards her before the others rush towards her.

Sera: "It was beautiful as usual, Dia-chan."

Dia: "I would still prefer to perform the greatest music I’ve ever made."

Rimuru: "I remind you, Dia-sama, that this music is very depressing. Even though it has immense beauty, it could ruin this party."

The music we are talking about is so powerful that it could make one remember their past and the happiest moments that will never happen again. But Dia is sure she can do better.

It is only much later that she will know the true power of this music.

Dia thought about all the moments she had spent creating this music. It came to her when she reflected on all the happy moments she had spent with Sera and Rimuru and remembered that everything she believed in could disappear. And it was with these feelings, no matter how unpleasant, that she created this music.

Now that the performance is over and she managed to waste as much time as possible to have less to do with this shitty policy, it was high time to start this party.

While I was writing this chapter I had a lot of classical music from my playlist except "Violin Concerto No. 2 by Félix Mendelssohn Bartholdy"
