The Choice of The Universe

Chapter 53: Chapter 53 – Hunt-2

After about four hours of searching, they found the four-eyed bear on the path leading to the top of Eagle Mountain. This path among the dense trees was used by mountain goats and deer. It was obvious that the four-eyed bear wanted to eat goat or deer meat today.

As the bear moved along the path, it occasionally bent down and sniffed the ground, then raised its head to the air and turned it right and left to sniff the air. It was obvious that it was looking for a trace, a scent. Since the scents of the mountain goats and deer were quite dominant, it did not realize that the red orcs were nearby.

After following the bear for a while, the tribal chief realized that it was time and directed his team to attack. He and his team increased their speed and after a while they were in front of the bear.

They did not approach the path so that their scent would not reach the bear. But eventually, they found a very large rock on the side of the path and climbed onto it.

The plan was simple, they would jump over the rock as the bear passed below and attack from the air. It was very important to take advantage of the bear's carelessness and strike first. After, even if they wanted, it would be difficult to approach the bear.

When they took their places on top of the rock, they began to wait for the bear. When the bear finally came to the bottom of the rock, the tribal chief let out a bird sound and informed the others that the attack would begin. And then, he and his group jumped down from the rock, targeting various parts of the bear.

When the bear heard a strange bird sound, it lifted it head and looked up. It wanted to see what kind of bird was making this strange sound, but instead it saw red orcs with axes in their hands. Many red orcs had jumped on it with axes in their hands.

When the thought of dying hit it heart, it could not react immediately and froze in place for a moment. After, it came to it senses immediately and at the last moment, it pulled it head aside and escaped the tribal chief's attack. But it could not escape the other attacks on it body.

This is it was no problem. Because the bear had a tough skin. The attacks of the red orcs could not do anything except make small wounds on it body. But it had many wounds and these wounds were bleeding constantly.

The tribal chief's axe that missed the bear's head opened a deep hole in the ground. This was definitely the most dangerous attack, but unfortunately it missed. As the tribal chief tried to remove his axe, the bear's paw came towards his shoulder. He immediately let go of the axe and threw himself to the side.

He escaped the bear's claw at the last moment. When he made himself safe, he looked towards his team. Fortunately, his team's attack had managed to injure the bear. And now they quickly gathered together and started attacking the bear again.

The bear could not react to these attacks from behind while dealing with the tribal chief, whom it saw as a mortal enemy. Another couple of axe blows came to it legs and back, and the wounds that had just opened deepened even more.

The bear, whose bleeding was increasing, had to escape from this dangerous place now. It took the opportunity of the tribal chief jumping to the side and advanced through the gap that opened in front of it.

It started running without thinking about the axe-wielding orcs behind it. Of course, the easiest escape was downward. The four-eyed bear was running downward with a loud noise.

The tribal chief took his axe out of the ground and without waiting, he and the others ran after the bear. The bear was no longer following the crooked paths of the path, but was running down in a straight line. The tribal chief was not worried about this situation because there was a high cliff in the direction the bear was running and the other hunting team had set up an ambush there.

The ground shaking, the sound of trees breaking and the rustling of bushes were getting louder. It was obvious that the bear was running towards them. The second deputy chief shouted.

- Get ready, it is coming. Even if you can't do anything, try attacking it feet. At least it can slow him down a little... (He shouted louder when he saw the tree in front of him falling down before he could finish his sentence.) It's here. Attack.

The entire team raised their axes and ran towards the bear. The three people in the middle were right in front of the bear, but the bear was not about to stop. It didn't even show any signs of slowing down. On the contrary, it increased its speed as it ran right towards them.

Two people managed to jump aside at the last moment, but the last one was unable to avoid the bear's headbutt and was thrown sideways by the blow and crashed into one of the trees. Fortunately, he had managed to hit the bear in the eye with his axe.

The bear, who had difficulty seeing it surroundings due to it bleeding eye, could not see the thick-trunked tree in front of it and hit it. The tree was tilted sideways by the force of the collision, but it did not dismantled and fall over. But, the four-eyed bear was not as lucky as the tree. It lost its balance and fell to the ground and rolling several times. Fortunately, it did not fall down the cliff.

The rookies, who could not follow the happening fast bear hunt, took the opportunity of the bear falling to the ground and approached it. They kept their safe distance with the warning of the second assistant, but one of them was quite scared. And in order to suppress his own fear, he used Han as a shield and drew a secret erect a barrier between himself and the bear.

This red orc, the youngest among those who participated in the hunt, had a wind of fear blowing in his body ever since he saw the four-eyed bear. Although he could not understand why he was afraid, he could not control himself. Fortunately, the second assistant stopped everyone and they did not get any closer to the bear. Still, the distance between him and the bear did not prevent the red orc from being afraid.

When the four-eyed bear got back up, all the red orcs had gathered around it. It was certain that the bear, who had nowhere left to run, would die here. But it would not die alone. It looked around and looked for an enemy it could deal with. Finally, it found what it was looking for.

He was a little far away, but the fear coming from that direction gave him away. It could easily kill this enemy, who was short and frail. "If I'm going to die, you're coming with me," it said, and it clawed the red orc, making room in front of him. And then it started running quickly towards it new enemy.

A notification suddenly appeared before Han's eyes as he was paying attention to the bear's movements. "Kill the wounded forest beast…" At the same time, a circle formed above the bear. Han had his axe in his right hand. When he saw the bear running towards him, he took his curved dagger in his other hand. Now, with the axe in one hand and the curved skull dagger in the other, he was ready for the bear.

Seeing the bear running towards where the recruits were, the second assistant chief immediately rushed forward and was the first to meet the bear. He swung his axe at the bear and stopping it from running any further. After a couple of mutual blows, the bear, who could not open its way, finally got up on its two feet and let out a loud yell.

As it was about to land on all fours again, it clawed at the red orc in front of it. This event that happened before his eyes shook Han deeply. He couldn't understand the reason for the sadness that suddenly filled his heart. Even when the bear broke free from the second assistant chief and started running towards him, he couldn't budge.

His friends were warning him, but Han didn't hear anything. The bear came quickly and opened its huge mouth and tried to bite Han. Something happened at the last minute and Han was pushed to the side. He escaped the bear's attack at the last moment, but he was still not himself.

Han didn't know, but Arz's attention was always on Han. Because he had promised Erna. He would definitely protect Han during the hunt. But how could he know that Han would freeze when he encountered the bear. At the last moment, he reached out and pushed Han aside, saving him, but himself was stuck between in the bear's teeth.

The bear bit something, but it wasn't what he wanted to kill. It looked as if his prey had jumped aside at the last moment. Since he had all his attention on him, he reflexively threw a quick claw at his enemy who had jumped aside. With the force of the claw, his enemy was thrown away and fell down the cliff.

The bear, whose one eye was injured, could not adjust his speed in the sudden chaos and fell down the cliff to the edge of the river, just like his enemy before. But the bear was not as lucky as Han. When he fell on the sharp rocks, he had a red orc in his mouth that he had bitten on the waist. Han, on the other hand, fell on the sand and gravel mixture next to the rocks.

The shock of falling to the ground brought Han back to his senses, but it was too late. He raised his head from where he fell and looked at his friend in the bear's mouth. His eyes became moist and he cursed his weakness.

When he tried to get up to help Arz, he could not move at all. As he tried to understand what was happening, he suddenly felt very sleepy. Although Han wanted to stay awake, he could not succeed and fell into a deep sleep a short while later. At the same time, a new blue system message floated in the air.

"Mission failed… Creating a new connected story…"
