As he spoke, words unspooled from the air, forming a new quest prompt. This one was different from those that had come before it.

Sam smiled at the welcome message. Gazing up at the heavens, he silently nodded in thanks. A moment later, something strange appeared in his vision. A ticking timer, counting down from an hour. Not only was it ticking down, but it was doing so at his reference speed, not in objective time. In reality, it was probably a few minutes, if even that.

A yellow arrow formed next to it, pointing off towards a distant cloud. The clock continued to tick, prompting Sam to follow the arrow.

Teleport after teleport hurled him across the skies, but the distance was deceptive. The cloud, which looked like it was about fifty miles away, had no reference points behind it to compare to. In reality, it was tens of thousands of miles, in a realm where space already behaved strangely. As a result, it took Sam two entire minutes to reach it. He only had another two left to fight in objective time.

The cloud grew and grew in his vision as he neared, until it resolved itself to be far more than a simple wisp of water vapor dancing across the sky. It was a swirling mass of storm clouds and lightning, coalescing around a nebulous heart.

The faint outline of a monstrous shape could be seen there, with wings, claws, and all manner of appendages protruding outwards. Sam blasted through the outer edges of the cloud, and finally beheld Hurricane's Vengeance in all of her glory.

A dragon wrought from clouds, electricity and rain rested on a patch of calm air. There was nothing there, but the creature still found purchase nonetheless. As Sam neared, it opened one eye. A core of swirling azure lightning made up the orb. As it did so, a formless aura swept out. It had no Dao behind it, just raw strength and elemental power. There was no direction to the aura. Instead, it was more like a force of nature than anything else.

Sam used his own aura, but to his surprise, it was weaker. By a lot. It barely extended out for a few dozen feet, in comparison to the miles that the dragon's reached.

He gritted his teeth, and used Smite. The timer in the corner of his vision slowed down, and so did the world. A spiderweb pattern of Dao energy emerged from the ether, forming a platform for him to leverage his strength off. With the crack of displaced air, Sam hurtled towards the dragon like a bullet. Manifestation of Vengeance gathered in his hammer, and his armor skill activated. This was not the time for half measures.

Hurricane's Vengeance gave him one angry glare, and then roared. The skies exploded for ten miles in every direction, thunder and lightning turning them into a hellscape. Sam felt waves of force that could have toppled a mountain range buffet him. He pushed through regardless.

A bow wave of force formed before him, pushing away the pressure of the rapidly expanding dome of electricity and enervated clouds. The shockwave pushed the maelstrom away from the monster that squatted in its midst, revealing the dragon entirely. Its wings stretched on each side, conduits of power that connected the monster to the stormy skies around it.
