Chapter 31: Chapter 31: Theater
"Look Jonady" said Raelia enthusiastically, pointing to a majestic site before them. "This is the largest park in the capital Amiria."
Jonady nodded silently admiring the vastness that stretched before his eyes. The park was expansive almost the size of the Champ de Mars in Paris from his world of origin.
Everywhere cherry trees in full bloom, their pink petals reminiscent of the famous cherry blossoms of Osaka created a sea of softness and beauty.
A gentle breeze scattered the petals, adding a magical touch to the atmosphere.
The two followed the park's main path. It wound through the cherry trees, seeming to lead to the heart of the park. At its end stood a gigantic tree, a colossal 91-meter-tall giant.
With its massive trunk and a canopy adorned with pink blossoms it resembled a giant sequoia, yet it exuded a unique grace found only in the trees of this world.
Children ran and played all around it their laughter ringing through the air.
"We should stop here," suggested Raelia gesturing to the base of the tree.
Jonady nodded again, following her lead. They sat on the soft grass, and Raelia leaned her back against the tree while Jonadya little tired from the day lay down, with his head resting on her lap.
Closing his eyes, he let himself be lulled by the soothing atmosphere.
The only audible sounds were the rustling leaves and petals drifting on the breeze it was a moment suspended in time, a peaceful haven where one could meditate for eternity.
Raelia meanwhile, watched the passersby while savoring a crepe they had bought earlier.
That moment was so perfect that she almost murmured to herself, "If only moment of peace like this could last forever."
Later that evening, they decided to attend a performance at the Royal Opera. The immense hall, adorned with glittering gold details was packed.
The elite of aristocratic society was present, dressed in their finest attire.
Although Jonady's outfit was understated, he still attracted a few curious glances.
However the lights quickly dimmed, plunging the room into a respectful silence.
The performance was grandiose, recounting the tale of four loyal riders who banded together to overthrow an oppressive tyrant.
The scenes were accompanied by enchanting music, played by an orchestra of remarkable precision.
The dialogue costumes, and lighting effects were so captivating that Jonady found himself absorbed in the story.
He couldn't help but think: There was a similar story in my world. A strange nostalgia washed over him.
At the end of the performance, the entire hall rose to applaud the actors. The applause thundered through the grand hall.
Raelia, radiant clapped enthusiastically while Jonady impressed, joined his hands to express his admiration.
As they exited the Opera, Jonady turned to Raelia.
— "I didn't expect the opera to be so popular."
She smiled at him a brillant sparkle in her eyes.
— "Opera is the tenderness of a society. It's where art touches hearts, where it brings together souls both noble and common."
Jonady pondered her words for a moment then responded with a light smile:
— "Is that so?"
Raelia nodded, clearly pleased to share the moment with him.
Accompanied by their five guards who remained discreet as always, they climbed into a carriage.
The ride back to the castle was soothingly calm marked by the rhythmic clatter of the horses' hooves on the cobblestones.
As the carriage rolled under the soft glow of streetlamps. Jonady gazed out the window, reflecting on the exceptional day.
By the time they passed through the castle gates the moon was already high in the sky, bathing everything in a silvery light.
The day was ending, but it marked a precious memory in Jonady's mind—a welcome reprieve amidst the vastness of his royal responsibilities.
