The Awakened Blader

A few days later Kodais wakes up to the sound of knocking. They weren't knocking very hard so he was the only one that heard.

He stands up to go check but Liz grabs his hand.

"Why are you up?" She said yawning.

"Someone knocking." He explained.

"Let me go with you." She demanded.

"Why?" He asked.

"Cause I said so!" She said in a hushed yell.

They both make their way to the door l, once he opens it he's greeted by familiar brown and black hair.

"Oh Tyrant why're you here." Kodai asked.

"We're Rivals you can use my real name Benji Vance." He exclaimed.

"... Kodai." He replied.

"Oh not willin to share your last name huh?" Benji exclaims.

"I'm an amnesiac the name Kodai was given to me by her." Kodai clarifies.

"Wait yall aren't siblings?" Benji asks.

"Nope." Kodai answers.

"Oh well on to Why I came here so early in the morning, you got the news right?" He asks.

"What news?" Kodai returns with a question.

Benji holds up his brand new phone displaying a text chat with the man in the suit from the other day.

"Oh yeah I forgot the wbba app is also a social media app." Kodai exclaims.

"Yeah well that guy messaged me saying we got nationals in a few days." He explains.

"What're nationals?" Kodai asks.

"Nationals are a type of tournament where teams from all over the country compete." Benji annswers

"Sounds interesting." Kodai said.

"Yeah, iv been told that me and you are for sure on the team but we need to pick a third member and a back up." He explained.

They spend some time thinking but can't think of anyone worthy of being put on the team.

"We'll I can't think of anyone, if you run into anyone powerful enough to be of interest message me." Kodai said as they exchanged contact info.

Benji went on his journey to find someone suitable for the 3rd spot on the team. Said journey was just in town at the Bey Park.

As he steps into the beypark bladers immediately begin pooling around him.

The bladers begin chattering about why he was here and a few got it right.

"Yes I am indeed here to find someone for our third spot on our team for the nationals!" He exclaims.

"But what about the third and fourth place bladers from the tournament?" A random blader asks.

"They were mediocre, we need someone capable." He explains.

"But what about your back up blader are you also gonna pick them from here?" Someone asks.

"No I'm leaving that to my rival." He answered.

He battles many bladers from the beypark and having nearly gone through them all he begins to lose faith in finding someone here but the next blader might change that.

This boy has long brown hair an above average height and yellow eyes.

"Do your best." Benji said.

"I will." The boy said.

Both boy's launch and Benji circles the stadium vigorously while the boy just rests in the center.

Leviathan rushes in at the boy's bey but misses.

"Good!" Benji says getting excited as none of the other bladers lasted this long.

Leviathan rushes in several times each time being a miss.

What could be causing me to miss he's not mov- wait he is but not by the driver his bey is wobbling back and forth causing me to miss direct impacts but I still make contact so why isn't he taking damage.

"I will explain for you, my layer is very circular combined with the fact that my bey is made entirely of an incredibly smooth and slick material. Meaning anything short of a direct impact will cause minimal damage although my bey has become particularly light weight because of it." The boy explains.

"Huh so I use need to move faster." Benji declares.

"That's not gonna wor-" the boy can't finish before Benji starts his assault.

Leviathan moves faster and faster with no limit in sight.

"I wanted to save this for my rematch with that monster but I guess imma need it to test your true limits, Leviathan! Draconic Slash!" Benji roars as he sweeps his hand in a slashing motion.

Leviathan's driver spinning against the stadium floor begins whirring gutterally as if to roar with him and in an instant the boy's bey bursts as leviathan crashes into the stadium wall burrowing itself.

"Good job, you're in!" Benji declares.

Meanwhile Kodai was just laying on his bed in thought.

"Ooh what about Elijah, he could be your back up blader." She suggested.

"I'm sorry but your brother isn't good enough for our team." He explained bluntly.

"Then I don't know anyone else that could be." She exclaimed.

"What about you?" Kodai asked.

"I'm not good at beyblade, and I don't have the drive to improve myself for the game." She said.

"You don't have to, you could do maintenance on my bey and repair my launcher n stuff." He explained.

"I mean I could... but I'd have to have dad teach me to do that." She replied.

"I'm sure you'll be a natural at it." He exclaimed.

"Yeah, I'll go ask dad inform that Benji kid." She said.

"Will do." He said.

While he informed Benji she went to ask Steven to teach her.

"Dad can I come in?" She asked.

"Yeah, whats up." He said.

"Dad I need you to teach me to work on beys." She declared.

"Why?" He asked.

"Kodai chose me as his back up so I can go with him to maintain his bey." She said.

Hmm my data has been slightly lower than before, maintaining his bey for him would ensure I get accurate data.

"Of course then." He said.

"Thank you dad!" She exclaimed.
