Chapter 93: Payment
The noblewoman and the handmaid had actually awakened their Aura. This was a very interesting matter to Hayden since he could tell that they weren't trained individuals.
After using his Ocularis Lens, he could tell from their skin, muscles, callouses, and other parts of their bodies that they weren't trained for any type of combat.
So many people wanted to awaken their Aura as they trained tirelessly every day and would undergo life-and-death training, only to fail or even die in the process without being able to sense Aura.
However, these two seemingly fragile women could actually use their Aura.
'I guess it's possible to awaken Aura without knowing how to fight…' Hayden thought as he recalled how he used the Aura Crystal to awaken his Aura.
Perhaps, Lady Clarisse also had an opportunity to absorb one or she was assisted by an Aura Knight to do so. That wouldn't be too surprising with her help.
There might even be a magician involved in this matter, considering their wealth.
In any case, Hayden was ready to use his Acupuncture Skills.
'Unfortunately, I can't show this to anyone else just yet.'
For Dr. Veyra, it might be a forbidden art, one that manipulated the body's meridians or Aura channels to accelerate natural healing. This was why Hayden had to be careful about this.
Then, after learning in the Survival Class for some time, some physicians might even call this method a heresy.
On the other hand, if handed to the right person, they would have called it a weapon.

"Huu~"
Hayden took a steadying breath—then began. He was now in his own world and didn't care about the people outside. Well, they also couldn't see what he was doing since the most they could sense was his Aura and nothing else about the needles he had.
"Let's begin…"
The first step was simply stimulating the Heart Meridian. Since they had consumed several Life Pills at this point, the bleeding was controlled for now.
After sanitizing his needles, Hayden inserted the first needle just below Lady Clarisse's collarbone. The moment it pierced skin, her Aura seemed to have flickered to life…
Her body started to instinctively resist the intrusion that Hayden made. However, Hayden adjusted the angle slightly, and the resistance faded.
It was at this point that Hayden used his Aura on the needles. Of course, he wasn't controlling it from entering Lady Clarisse's body but simply using it to stir up her Aura…
Indeed, after doing this, the Aura that had stirred up moved toward her core, stabilizing her pulse.
As expected, their Aura was indeed not being used in combat and was simply refining their bodies.
In short, they were not training even after awakening their Aura. It was to the point that they may not even know they have it!
Thanks to that, various parts of their bodies had idle Aura that just needed to move and help other parts of their bodies to heal…
"This is a lot easier than I thought…" Hayden muttered as he confirmed that his method was good.
The next three needles went into pressure points along her arms and abdomen.
Well, even without the idle Aura in Lady Clarisse's body, Hayden's method could still save her…
Unlike crude stitches or potions, this Acupuncture method forced the body's own energy to close the wounds from within. The torn flesh around her stomach laceration began to knit together, the bleeding also completely stopped.
The final needle went to the base of her skull—a dangerous point. One wrong move, and he could paralyze her.
But Hayden's hands didn't shake.
He tapped the needle once, sending a controlled pulse of his own Aura into her system.
Lady Clarisse's eyes shot open!
It seemed that even she was surprised. She looked around as a gasp was released from her lips.
Then, she swiftly sat upright—
Hayden caught her shoulders, easing her back down. He didn't expect that it was too effective. "Easy. You're safe."
Her dazed eyes locked onto his. "Who… are you?"
"Just a part-time physician… I'm hired by someone you know. His name is Sir Silas." Hayden said quietly. "Right… Don't mention to anyone my method of healing you."
Hayden could only add this up since he didn't really expect that the dying woman would just wake up and even talk to him too quickly.
Thankfully, Lady Clarisse understood. Or perhaps, she had no other choice but to agree, considering her situation.
Nonetheless, gave the faintest nod.
After all, Hayden repeated almost the same process on the handmaiden, working even faster now that he had the rhythm.
Within minutes, both women were stable and their breathing had also become steady. Even with the loss of blood, one could see that the color on their faces had already returned.
When Hayden stepped out of the wagon, Silas nearly collapsed in relief.
"They're alive?!"
"Stable…" Hayden confirmed. "But they need rest. No questions."
Silas opened his mouth—then shut it. He understood it immediately. "Alright... Name your price."
Hayden smiled and replied. "Let's talk about it in private."

The caravan soon moved forward and the road was now filled with the creak of wagon wheels as they made their way toward the nearest town.
They were still planning to get Lady Clarisse to a true doctor to at least get peace of mind that they were all okay.
In any case, it no longer mattered to Hayden.
Inside one of the covered carriages, Hayden sat across from Silas.
Silas was still smiling as he looked at the young squire that he initially thought to be just a burden.
This time, however, he didn't mind paying this kid for ten or twenty times his current wage.
After all, the fact that his caravan saved the wife of another powerful figure and also his friend, could not be changed.
It would surely affect his business for the better. If possible, he even wanted to recruit Hayden as their physician since he obviously had a special ability that he couldn't ignore.
"Alright, boy," Silas said.
"You saved Lady Clarisse's life—and mine, by extension. Name your price."
