The Asshai's Bloodmage

Chapter 59: The Order of Sages part 2

On the board was a map of the world of Ice and Fire with various dots, numbers and symbols of different colors. These symbols covered almost everything with the exception of Yi Ti, Ulthos and the Shadow Lands. Even the mysterious Sothoryos had some notes. Sure I know a little about the lore of Yi Ti and Asshai, but it's all just vague mentions and it would be necessary for us to confirm everything. I left both blank so that they could be filled in over time with truthful information confirmed by me and the other members. Then I began to explain the numbers on the boards:

"As you can see, this map covers the entire world, and at the top it shows the year we are in and until when this information is valid. And before anyone asks, the answer is yes, my visions cover a little over 400 years. We are currently close to the new year for 101 B.C. I will not explain what this acronym means because it is also high-level information. All I can say is that a certain major event will be used as a measure between the years before and after this event."

Everyone's eyes widen, so I continue:

"The future I saw in my vision is something that can never be seen again, that is, I saw the future, but if someone starts to change things now, in less than 200 years everything will become a mess and most of the information we have here will become useless. Getting involved with a certain family/house, killing someone who shouldn't die, having a child with whom you shouldn't have. All of this will cause a butterfly effect throughout history, harming not only you, but also the entire world."

I pause, while I explain to them what the butterfly effect is, then I start saying again:

"All of you who are on this ship are only alive because of the various actions I took in Valyria. When I say that if I hadn't warned Madame Rosa or taken crucial information to Esmer, both of you would still be in Valyria at the time of the disaster, as well as your children and apprentices. Everyone becomes serious and begins to reflect on my words."

Jack is the first to speak:

"So in short we should all have died, does that mean we are all butterfly effects? Are you saying we can't do certain things without your permission?"

Everyone looks at me again, waiting for me to confirm something that none of them seem to like, being saved only to live a life full of rules soon takes away their happiness and gratitude that they had for me. I continue explaining, this time pointing to the board full of colors and numbers:

"These numbers mean the degree of danger of certain events. I show numbers that go from 1 to 6, with number 1 being low-risk dangers and 5 being what happened in Valyria. I tell them that in the past a level 4-5 event happened in Hardhome in the north of Westeros." Suddenly I show a number 6 that has the final symbol of the calendar.

Everyone quickly understands that something worse than what happened in Valyria is going to happen and I say that this time it is to a degree that could destroy the entire world.

"Causing drastic changes in the wrong place could make this disaster happen sooner than normal and cause the entire plan involving saving the world to go wrong. To be honest, as long as I can save the lives of those who are important to me, I don't really care if the whole world suffers. I'm not a hero, but if it's within my power to help prevent this, I will do it. Do you understand?"

Vitarys is the first to question:

"I'm not a hero either, nor do I plan to save anyone. This will only happen in 400 years, why should it be our responsibility? What if our interference changed for the better? You also know that we can't believe that what you said is 100% correct, and you can't see if anything has changed anymore. I'm grateful to you for saving so many people from our homeland, but I won't follow you blindly."

"I'm not asking you to follow me blindly, I'm just saying that as long as you listen to me there will be rewards and you will avoid many dangers. Forget about being heroes or even helping, without the necessary power you won't even be able to participate in what will happen. The way you are currently, your lives are so fragile that I doubt half of you are still alive to do something that could really be big enough to cause changes in history."

When I say this most of them lower their heads and I see Vitarys look at me with a face full of anger. I then show the symbols on the maps and explain their meanings: Diseases, plagues, curses, dangerous monsters, wild dragons and other symbols that I don't tell you their meaning.

"All of these can kill you at any moment and there are many symbols that are not on this map simply because I don't know them. Even I can die too."

Liza then asks:

"If 5 is a disaster on the level of Valyria and 6 is something that can threaten the world, what are the remaining numbers like?"

"Good question. Number 4 means large-scale wars. If you are in the region of these wars, even if you are not participating in combat, you can still die at the hands of bandits, starvation, or even by being mistaken for an enemy. Number 3 means a dragon attack or a disease spreading through a city. Both will kill many, but there are always survivors, either because the disease is over, someone is immune to it, or because they fled in time. In the case of dragons, if you hide or run away, you can also survive. Number 2 is an attack by monsters, bandits, or cruel cultist Mages. And number 1 are minor dangers, they pose a threat to life, but can be easily avoided and never affect many people. In the case of war and disease, these danger numbers can vary between degrees 1 and 4."

Zaya asks this time:

"Were there many surviving dragons?"

"Many dragonlords survived because they were not in Valyria, anyone who returns to that land to search for gold, or try to rebuild Valyria will never be seen again. The few that remain will try to continue controlling the empire's territory."

I point to the map where Essos and ancient Valyria is:

"Everyone here will suffer greatly because of wars in the next 100 years, and all the remaining dragonlords will die in the so-called Century of Blood. So this is the only warning I give you for free, don't go to these places on the continent Essos for the next 100 years, the entire region is at a danger level 4. The same for Valyria which is at 4.5 after the disaster."

"As a price for giving you such precious information, I ask that you never set foot in Westeros or interfere in what happens there! Fair enough, right?" Everyone nods, starting with my friends, then Liza and Jack, with Zaya and the others last.

I then go on to explain the price of the information, with some costing thousands of points and others hundreds or dozens. The further into the future, the more expensive the information. After that, I put 100 extra points up for sale for 100 gold coins. These coins will be used as a gold reserve for our Order. Everyone pays immediately and buys the 100 extra points. And some even start buying information. Zaya buys information about a terrible disease transmitted by butterflies on the island of Nath. While Vitarys gets a report of a Dragon Lord who flew over Sothoryos. Both are satisfied, the information is short but confirms the veracity of everything here.

After that, the participants spend a good amount of time in the bazaar area trading their items for points or coins. Some start making copies of their books. I go to Jack and give him a copy I made of the meditation. He needs it more urgently and he is grateful.

Then I show him where I put 1/3 of my jewels and tell him that they can get them for points too. At this point, everyone wants to collect points to buy high-level information, but now what most of them need are materials to practice spells. I tell them to decide later after thinking about it calmly. They can also contribute jewels to get points in the Order, but this option has not yet been created since I will wait to use the Asshai market as a reference for prices and points. Then I invite them to see my Alteration experiments, and also to talk about the last and main benefit that the founders of the Order receive.
