Chapter 79: Turrets and Facilities
Quagmire, after doing a few more swipes and clicks, finally had a familiarity with the management system. As expected, it would greatly help him, and that would mean that would give him complete independence, and would allow him to do more things, and not get stuck at the base like his old days as a military commander, who have to stay behind the front lines, and most of the time tucked away in a fortress.
He would finally have the time to explore this world, but first he must raise his children who are about to come, so that they may raise it for the coming and the increase of population.
Basically in a sense, he does need stewards, even though it was his children, it would do, but he must not treat them as things, and so he would often communicate with them, and raise them properly even if it is just two of their childhood, and would already be burdened with the responsibilities of an adult.
That is the very least he could do for them, be a proper parental figure, so that they may be molded into respectable young men or women, if he ever decided to make one based on his very own genetic template. Moreover, in the future, though he is not sure, to preserve and muddy the gene pool and prevent inbreeding, he is planning to combine his genetics and his children's randomized genetics as future templates for the population.
Not only that, he might decide to create chapters of his children's genetic template so that they could raise their own, and in turn, turning him into a grandfather, with that in mind, he let out a soft chuckle followed by a twirl of lips upward into a pleasant smile that radiates everywhere.
After finishing familiarizing his senses, he went over and switched the tabs into stores, and was then greeted by how many gold coins he had. Which was eleven thousand seven hundred fifty gold coins, that was a lot, but definitely not enough to sustain his current development, which is precisely why he needs to go out and hunt more ghouls later and in the following days. So that he would be able to sustain industrialization, and get his foundation stronger than ever, so that those that he built on top would last more than a thousand years. Longer and much stronger than his own nation from his world, the Imperial Republic.
His eyes darted around, glancing from side to side, clicking buttons left and right to change and look. After a while, he begun to place his hands in his cheeks, as he was lost in thoughts, lost in the things that he needs, what to prioritize, and so he decided to think and think until he have decided on an optimal path.
Once he had decided, he immediately began selecting and buying the necessary blueprints that he would use and place in the management system. Now that he has the management system, he would no longer need to go there personally or order them personally, as he could just do it in the management system. Moreover, in their study, the slope and all other variables are considered, like location, slope, soil, and available resources.
Logistically speaking, every commander would love this, and he has it all to himself, so it would be a complete waste to let it go to waste. After all, something like that would give a huge advantage, even more so than others, especially if the other side or enemy is reckless and stupid, just by having good logistics, you can make your army survive longer and keep the morale up.
Like what the great emperor of the Imperial Republic once said
"An army marches on its stomach," A quote by Lepoleon the First of the Imperial Republic.
With that in mind, he first bought the Extension Power Annexes, the Central, Interior, and Outer Power annexes, including the battery core, emergency, and backup power supplies, which are heavily important for building and expansion and for defense systems.
It was then followed by research centers, the research centers there are no specifics for it, as he could use it to research new materials, especially of this world, that includes improving science locally without the help of the system store or blueprints, after which he could place it inside the adjutant after being developed, so that he could order the droids for development and building it.
It was then followed by automated turret systems, cameras, and other systems of defense that use bullets like a flak cannon, that could shoot down flying targets. Glancing at the blueprint of the flak cannons, he suddenly remembered the time before he died, the descending hell that came. It was utterly terrifying and nothing short of a military miracle.
It was then followed by power shields for protection against incoming projectiles and foundries, Maintenance Facilities, and finally, the Ordinance Facility. All in all, it cost him about eleven thousand five hundred gold coins; now he was left with two hundred fifty gold coins. he was now completely dirt poor.
He would now need to hunt for more ghouls as he really needs more gold coins so that he could start researching down his tech tree and buying more blueprints and maybe upgrade some of them.
With that in mind, he began to change the tabs, as he would now place the blueprints down, but first he with a flick of a finger he observed the slopes and various geographies, so that he would now the most optimal and most efficient place to place the various facilities that he has built. Alternatively, he could use or let the droids automate it, but he wanted to do it manually, especially he needs to consider future expansions.
Right now, trees are being cut, strategic and critical resources are being mined at an all-time high, and more and more specialized droids are coming out of manufacturing facilities, which continues to increase by the day. With those things in mind, he began selecting the facilities and placing them down.
