Chapter 65 - Finally Meeting Peter
"They probably do. Might just be there to throw you off.", Praneeth said.
"That is possible. Wait a minute. What did he say?!", Lucas shouted with shock as he disappeared from his place.
Praneeth stood there blankly.
"Did anyone see where he went?", he asked.
"He went to the right. See? The door over there at that end is ajar now.", Michael pointed to the right end of the hallway.
"What in the world could excite him like this? I mean, he waited for us for this long, and now he just left us hanging? How the hell does that make even remote sense?", Arthur asked.
"Could be Peter. Let us go and take a look. Nothing better for us to do anyways.", Michael shrugged.
Michael started walking towards the room that Lucas rushed off to. Behind him, the rest of the council started walking. They crossed all the rooms next to them, but they couldn't help but stop and stare at some of them.
"Are they seriously going to give us sounds like that?", Eva knit her eyebrows.
Behind a door, moans constantly escaped the room. It seemed that two people were indulging in a very rigorous recreational activity.
"While a part of me wants to burst open that door just for the heck of it, we have to go.", Arthur shook his head as he walked past the door.
Now, the room that Lucas went into was within earshot. They saw the door open, but it was facing them, so they couldn't see what was inside yet.
Boom!
A person fell out of the door and crashed into the wall that was opposite to it. Praneeth looked at the man who fell out carefully. Taking a few more steps forward, he bent down to look at the man.
"Who are you? Are you the Peter that Lucas wanted to kill for so long?", he asked the man.
"Monster. Monster.", the man muttered, as he slowly closed his eyes.
"And this one is dead. Yep, Michael you are right. Lucas is in here alright.", Praneeth nodded.
"You doubted me? Now isn't that a little, offending?", Michael said.
"Being able to see a half god move is an ability not many can claim. No one here could see even his shadow when he moved. Although I did not mean any offense, it did seem like you were drawing an inference from the open door.", Praneeth said calmly as he walked past the door to see what was inside.
"Both of them. They just get on my nerves so easy.", Michael said, a vein on his forehead throbbing.
"Let's just go in. What can you do?", Raphael patted Michael's shoulder as he walked past him and into the room. Michael followed as well, with the rest close by him.
The room was interesting, to say the least. It was red, but not inherently. It was clear that the colour only came from all the blood that was splattered all over the floor and the walls. But there was so much that if evenly spread out, it would be an actual wall painting.
Lucas was crouching at the end of the room, in front of a wall. In front of Lucas, a man was lying on the ground. His arms were tied to these poles with a chain, and there were wounds all over him. Lucas was talking to the man, but the man was clearly too weak to even survive. The only sign that he was alive was that his head was shaking slightly as Lucas spoke to him, and his lips barely moving.
"That, Praneeth, is Peter.", Lucas pointed towards the man that Lucas was talking to.
"Interesting. No wonder the Sphinx said that he was laid on a silver platter. They tied him up and made him so weak on purpose.", Praneeth nodded.
Lucas' eyes were not red like always. He was completely human, and not a single hair of fur could be seen on his body. Now, his eyes were like those of an actual human, except that they came in a rare blue.
He looked directly into Peter's face.
"Why? You killed me. Alright, you did that for greed. Humans have that. But why did you kill every single one of your fellow brethren? They cared for you, and they were the reason that you had such a comfortable life. What demon possessed you for you to lose all reason?", Lucas said, his voice shaking.
"They're, they're dead?", Peter stuttered.
"Don't give me the shit that you didn't know they were dead. You know that they would have been alive if it weren't for you. And they told me that it was you. Don't you dare lie to me.", Lucas scowled.
"I was forced. After I killed you, I mean, I thought that I killed you. How did you survive? I gave you a poison so potent, I cut off my hand after using it.", Peter asked Lucas.
"STOP DODGING THE QUESTION!!!!", Lucas shouted.
Michael, Praneeth, and everyone else in the room looked at him with apprehension.
"I don't care what you don't know about. I just want you to tell me this. Why did you kill them? You wanted my powers. Okay, clearly you didn't know who I was. But why did you kill them? All of them got your back when you needed them. How could you do something like this? Even I wouldn't do it. How could you?", Lucas' voice started breaking.
"Getting emotional, Lucas?", Fenrir's voice came from within his chest.Â
"Oh please. Not now. This is personal. Shut up. Either listen, or do something else", Lucas said.
"Who, who was that?", Peter asked Lucas.
"This is the reason why that marquess even approached you. Look at you. You got used like tissue paper, and you don't even know why. You are just stupid, and naive. I thought that you would no better. Guess your past pack was really right in leaving you to the wild. I should have understood why.", Lucas said.
"Grrr", Peter growled.
