The Adventures of an Overpowered Knight in Another World

Chapter 93- The Squires Fight the Knights

He was here to attract the enemy's attention, not to flatten the entire city. As such, he needed to make do with the sword currently in his hands.

Mythril was supposed to be one of the greatest ore and material for sword crafting. Not only were they an extremely good conductor of mana, they were immensely sturdy and durable, regarded as ores of the gods.

If it was this sword, it should be able to handle the burden of his current strength.

Reinhardt arched his hands back in a wide swing and focused. Lower, much lower, his strength should not exceed [High(High)], that was the best he could control right now. And so…

"[Exalted Strike]" he roared out. The skill that had once destroyed a general of one of the Twelve heavenly Kings along with the inter dimensional plane of the dungeon in one blow, was now pointed at the city gate.

A brilliant flash of white light that seemed like the dawn of a new day in the darkness of the night, covered everyone's vision. The next second…

BOOOM… The entire city woke up. The trembling could be felt all across the place.

Finally, when the light died down, an incredulous scene that was straight out of dream, greeted everyone's vision.

A gigantic hole was torn open. The city gate, the fifty feet tall rampart, the mounted cannons along with the knights, everything disappeared in that split second. Leaving only devastation and debris behind.

[Exalted Strike]: Description: A single, overwhelming attack imbued with divine wrath. Destroys anything in its path, including magical barriers, cursed objects, and even space itself. The strike leaves a scar of holy energy that lingers, preventing enemies from entering the area.

Looking at the scene, Reinhardt nodded his head. The training paid off, in that attack, he was able to restrain seventy percent of the power of the skill. The space was not cracked, and the city was intact. More importantly, the sword in his hand was still fine.

"A good sword!!"

Although he was talking to himself, he did not think that he would be uttering those words out loud. The squires behind him, who carried absolutely flabbergasted expressions, heard his comment and couldn't help but feel their eyes twitching.

The scene before them was that disbelieving after all. To be able to destroy the fortress wall with a single swing of his sword, was there even a need for them to be here?

At this moment, the squires and the new recruits all realised why none of the older knights had any qualms with Reinhardt trying to take the role of the bait and attacking from the front. It was because if there was anyone who could do it, it was him.

Frankly, he did not even need the recruits; he alone was enough to siege the city and come out unscathed. The only reason he brought them along was to train them, and had they gone along with the others, given their level and experience difference, they would only be slowing the other teams down.

"Let's go," Reinhardt commanded and beckoned his horse forward.

The squires having seen the power of their Commander, were now strutting forward on their horses with their chests held high. This was what being a knight was; this was what it meant to be a part of one of the Seven Great Knight Orders.

In their minds, the respect and image of the Temple of Light quickly shot towards the top.

The squires were brimming with spirit and confidence. However, the same couldn't be said for the opposite side. The enemy knights who survived the attack, thanks to being at the backline of their formation, threw their swords on the ground in surrender.

Fight? What ridiculousness. How do you even fight someone like that?

Some gave up readily, while some still tried to resist, gaining confidence from the fact that leading the reinforcement from the city, marching as they immediately arrived at the situation, was none other than their commander.

Sir Rattleboots of the Tinker Knights was here. Immediately after arriving at the scene and looking at the gigantic hole torn open on the fortress wall, the latter gulped.

"W-Who dares to attack the territory of Lord Chetak? Name yourselves".

Reinhardt and his squires slowly marched forward through the dust and debris.

"You ask who we are?" he pointed at the flag fluttering majestically behind him. "We are the Knights of justice, we are the Order of the Temple of Light. Because of all of Baron Chetak's evil deeds, we are here to carry on a reckoning trial on him".

Hearing those words, the expression of the commander of Tinker Knights became ugly, and he unsheathed his sword.

"What nonsense. Do you think you can just do anything and blame someone without any proof?"

"If you want proof, let us carry the Reckoning Trial. You will understand how corrupt the lord you are serving is. Anyways, get out of the way. Our target is not the knights of this city but the ones ruling it."

"Bunch of Lies!! Baron Chetak is a righteous man who has lived his whole life without committing any evil. I, the commander of Tinker Knights, can attest to it. This Reckoning Trail is being conducted forcefully. Without the orders of the crown, I cannot let you pass".

So that's how it was. Reinhardt tried using the [Voice of Providence] to give the other party a way out. However, it seemed like it was unnecessary since the other party was also in the mix with his lord.

"So you won't move, huh. Well, have it your way".

He raised his sword high and spoke in a deafening voice, "I, Divine Paladin Reinhardt, will now conduct the Reckoning Trial. Anyone who stands against me will be seen as my and the Order of the Temple of Light's enemy".

His very presence, along with the aura he emitted, demoralised the enemy knights, causing them to step back subconsciously.
