The Adventures of an Overpowered Knight in Another World

The boy chased. Soon, he found himself lost and with no signs of the demon.

"Kevin, don't run away alone. The knights stick together and work in a team. Besides, we are still squires, remember. A mid ranking demon is a tough opponent."

At this moment, the team caught up to him.

"Where is the demon?"

"I lost him. However, he should definitely be nearby." Kevin clenched his fist in frustration. The demon took the little girl away right from under their nose. Who knew if the latter was alive or not? Every second, every moment here counted.

"Leave it to me, I have the perfect skill here that can help." Delicia stepped forward and placed her hands on the ground.

"[Earth Resonance]" The next second, slight vibrations passed through the ground and into the surroundings, before spreading everywhere. Soon, every movement and noise around the park was captured by her.

"[Earth Resonance]? But isn't that an attack skill?" Rolan, who was a little knowledgeable among the group, being two years older than the others here, questioned.

From what he knew, the [Earth Resonance] was a low level offensive skill he encountered some trainees and squires from other knight orders using.

"You are right. However, a skill is not only for offense, but can be used in other ways too. Once you gain deep mastery over it, you gain understanding over it, and many uses of the skill opens up," Delicia explained.

[Earth Resonance] was one of the skills she learned back when she was a knight in the Silver Shields. As it was a skill she had already learned once, it was easy for her to pick it up again. Sadly, her current stats only allowed her to utilize these low level skills.

"The demon is not far. Wait, it has stopped? We need to hurry."

Realizing that something was wrong, Delicia sprang into action. The squad followed behind her.

Soon, they found the demon they were looking for. However, when they saw the scene in front of them, their blood ran cold.

Hundreds of corpses piling up like a mountain, making a pool of blood. Some children, some adults, some old. There was no distinction; the demon killed indiscriminately.

"Gehehe… so you all managed to reach here, huh?"

The Creepy-Crawler was in the midst of speaking when Kevin attacked him.

The former easily dodged his attack, which no longer had that superhuman speed, reflexes, and technique that the boy had used previously.

"Don't move. If you move again, I'll snap the neck of this little girl… Gehehe" the demon threatened anyone trying to move.

Faced with a dilemma, the squad stood in their place, glaring in hatred at the demon.

"Gehehe… continue to stand there and watch me perform the ritual. It is something too good for humans like you to witness anyway".

Saying that it started casting its magic, its claw still grabbing the neck of the little girl. A big magic circle appeared in the pool of blood that was squeezed out of the hundreds of bodies. The scene was so disturbing that they had difficulty not puking on the spot.

A short while later, the magic circle rotated, absorbing all the blood and the corpses. At the same time, a heavy, almost chilling, feeling of foreboding assailed everyone. They didn't know what the demon was up to, but they intuitively knew that whatever it was doing, they could not allow it to finish.

That being said, the Creepy-Crawler had the little girl's life in its grasp; they cannot make any impulsive move, as a light twist can actually reap a life.

Just when the squad felt like they were pressed between a rock and a hard place, Kevin shouted at them.

"Everyone, use [Radaint Ascension]".

The squad looked surprised at first, but immediately understood what he was planning. There was no way of knowing if it would be a success or a failure. Nevertheless, that was the only option they had. And so they cast the skill all together.

"Hm? I told you not to move…?"

The [Radiant Ascension] was a skill that did not require the knights to move. It was an ability that fell down from the sky on its own. Soon, three pillars of light dropped down. However, they did not fall on the demon but rather missed its mark and fell behind it.

"Gehehe, where are you aiming…?" The demon laughed, though the next second it shut its mouth and opened its eyes wide.

GROWL~ A deep gurgling noise rang out, followed by something that caused its instinct to flare warning.

"[Radiant Ascension Slash]" A brilliant white slash like the dawn of a day flashed behind the demon, engulfing it and everything around it in that split second.

Unknowingly, Kevin had used a concept similar to Reinhardt's [Exalted Strike] after seeing the latter use it a few times.

Of course, in its essence, it's still pure divine energy with no offensive power. As such, the attack did not harm the little girl and was only meant for the demon.

Kevin's impromptu may be an imitation of his commander's skill. However, it did not mean that it did not pack any power. Having devoured three of those holy pillars, the [Radaint Ascension Slash], he dished out packed immense, damaging power for a demon.

As could be witnessed from the scream of the demon, who was blown far back after getting hit by that attack.

Their plan a success, the squad hurriedly moved to catch the girl who had been released from the demon's clutches.

"Is she alright?" Everyone looked at the girl with concern.

Gwen checked her pulse before sighing. "She is alive, though barely. That demon gripped her neck far too strongly, causing her windpipe to choke. I can heal her using [Cure All]".

Thankfully, they had two level 5 squires here who could use the healing skill.

ROAAARR… At this moment, a loud demonic roar came from the area where the demon was sent flying. It looked like healing the girl wouldn't be easy with that thing targeting its magic towards them.
