Dear Readers and Supporters of Tactical Embarrassment,
I want to take a moment to write this open letter—to express my gratitude to everyone who's spent time reading my webnovel, "Tactical Embarrassment." Even though the readership is small, it means the world to me that there are people out there who found the story and continue to come back. Every read, comment, and bit of feedback has given me encouragement to keep going.
When I started this story, I did it first and foremost to challenge myself—to prove to myself that I could still write and create something that people and I would want to read. And I thought, if people love isekai stories, then why not go for it? That simple "why not?" moment was the spark behind this entire journey. Over the years, after consuming so many light novels, manga, and anime, I wanted to mix what I loved into a single narrative. I hoped it would be something enjoyable not only for me, but for all of you as well.
I'll be honest: it stung a bit to see some people dismissing the story as "AI slop." I want to be clear—Tactical Embarrassment is not that. The events, the plot, the list of characters and canon happenings—all those decisions are my own. I keep careful notes and lists to make sure the story is coherent and consistent. I put a lot of effort into making sure the world flows and makes sense.
I do use AI, but only as a tool to clarify language or to help iron out transitions between paragraphs—especially when I get stuck on phrasing. But the content, ideas, and voice are my own. Still, to address those concerns, I'm planning a rewrite with even less AI involvement. I want to creatively expand on what we have, give you longer chapters, and make it clearer than ever that this story comes from me.
So, what does this mean for the future of Tactical Embarrassment? Nothing much will change—I'll still be telling the story as I have been. I'll also be working on the rewrite (tentatively called "The Tactical Embarrassment Retold/Rewritten"), but since I want to put in extra time and care, releases will be slower. I expect the rewrite will start rolling out when the current arc concludes, probably around August 2025.
Stolen novel; please report.
As always, the story will flow, and the original Tactical Embarrassment will continue, with the rewrite waiting down the line. Thank you again for reading, supporting, and believing in this little story. It means more to me than you can imagine, and I look forward to your continued support for many chapters to come.
FAQ / A Few Words About My Storytelling Approach
Why do some parts of Tactical Embarrassment seem overly detailed, or feature characters being introduced and then seemingly thrown into the story? Isn't that an "AI thing"?
I can see why it might come across that way, but actually, it's very intentional—and a bit of an experiment from my side! In my real life, I work in Learning & Development (L&D), where repetition and reinforcement are fundamental methods. They help learners recall information and apply it in new situations. When writing this story, I wanted to see if this technique could work in storytelling too: introduce a character or concept early, then revisit them later, building familiarity and deepening the connection as the story grows. It's an experiment inspired by my professional experience, not by AI.
In fact, in adult learning, sharing stories and learning from each other are central to how we teach. Many adult learning settings focus on facilitation and co-discovery rather than just presentation. That focus on storytelling—circling back to ideas and characters, deepening threads over time—found its way into my writing approach. Maybe it's unconventional in webnovels, but I'm genuinely interested in whether it can help readers engage and remember characters better, just like it does with learners in real life.
And what's with the focus on vital stats and… lace?
Haha, well, this one's a bit more personal! The focus on vital stats and lace is actually Andie's (and, apparently, my own) weakness. It's just a bit of honest self-indulgence—I believe if you're going to create a story partly for your own enjoyment, you may as well have fun with it! Sometimes, quirks like these give characters a little extra humanity and fun, and I hope it brings a smile (or at least a knowing groan) to your face, too.
Thank you so much for reading, asking questions, and being part of this wild little experiment with me!
With appreciation,
JagdDrache
