Chapter 10: Chapter 10 New Servants
Supreme Gacha System
Chapter 10;New Servants
"At the eleventh floor of the hidden dungeon,I didn't expect that this goblin commander would have summoning ability," Fei murmured, with interest, as she watched the dark ape charge toward her clone. Leon nodded in agreement with Fei's words.
"From Luna's back, Stella also watched the fight that was about to begin. As for Luna, she was drooling wondering what kind of food she would eat for the next meal.
The silver moon wolves, recently blinded, now recovered, observing the impending battle. The ape's roar had roused their fighting spirit. Though they hadn't been afraid during the previous battle with the goblin, caution had prevailed. So, they had chosen to retreat and wait for their blind debuff to wear off before engaging, unwilling to risk unforeseen consequences.
The dark ape, muscles rippling with primal fury, launched itself at Fei's clone. Its fist, imbued with all its strength, aimed to pulverize its opponent. But Fei's clone remained unmoved, a serene smile playing on its lips. As the ape's fist neared her, her white hair danced in the wind, caused by the force of the impending blow. Yet, she met the ape's fist with her own. Boom! A booming sound echoed through the dungeon, accompanied by the sickening crack of shattered bones.
A shockwave erupted, a visible ripple spreading through the air. The force of the impact sent the ape staggering back, its arm snapping with a sickening crack. The floor beneath Fei's clone shattered, but she remained perfectly still, her grin widening in stark contrast to the ape's agony.
The ape roared in fury, the sound reverberating throughout the dungeon floor. This was no ordinary rage; this was the primal scream of a creature unleashing its ultimate power. It activated its skill, allowing it to reach 2nd Tier in a short period of time.
It's body swelled, muscles bulging until it stood a towering seven meters tall, a monstrous silhouette that nearly reached the dungeon ceiling. Its eyes, bloodshot and blazing with fury, locked onto Fei's clone, promising a brutal and unrelenting assault. Its massive frame seemed to distort the air around it. Fei's clone, however, showed no sign of fear, her expression a mixture of amusement and anticipation.
The massive dark ape charged again, its fist aimed at Fei's clone. The clone met the blow with a counterpunch. Boom! This time, neither flinched. They stood locked in a brutal exchange, Fei's clone seemingly reveling in the violence. Relentless blows rained down, the ape meeting each punch with an equally forceful counter, even though his broken arm throbbed with pain. Determination fueled his every move, his will to win unyielding. Each impact echoed with a thunderous Boom, sending shockwaves through the air. The dungeon floor trembled beneath their feet, cracking and crumbling as rock and soil erupted in a cloud of dust. Neither would yield; neither wanted to lose.
Fei's clone and the dark ape leaped back from the cloud of dust. The ape slammed its fist into the ground, causing sharp rocks to erupt aimed at the clone. A white soul flame, with a fivefold magic damage, materialized from Fei's clone's hand, engulfing the spikes. The explosion sent dust billowing across the battlefield. When it cleared, the dark ape had shrunk back to its normal five-meter height, kneeling and panting heavily, its weight supported by its one uninjured arm.
Despite Fei's lower tier, her superior attributes, qualifications, and skills, perfectly replicated in her clone, the dark ape's defeat was inevitable. Fei's clone walked towards the ape, the dark ape struggled to rise, but its strength was utterly depleted.
Witnessing his lifelong companion's imminent demise, the Goblin Commander's eyes turned red, his fists clenched, breath ragged. "Why? Why? We only wanted to live peacefully! Why do humans and other races hunt us, kill us? We've done nothing wrong! Is it because we're ugly? Is it our fault to look like this? Why are we seen as nothing but creatures to be slaughtered? Why is the world so unfair? We strive to become stronger, training day and night, yet we can't. The world itself gives us restrictions to rise. Why does the world despise us?"
A single tear rolled down his cheek as he choked back a sob, his voice a mere whisper. He watched his friend, his companion, his brother, about to die. He knew disobeying the dungeon's rules meant losing its protection; if he died, he would not be resurrected, it would be real death. But his friend had no such protection. To save him, he would break the rules, accepting the risk of a real death for himself as well.
Fei's clone heard the goblin commander's whispered plea, but her focus remained on the kneeling ape. She raised her hand to strike, but the commander's desperate cry stopped her: "Stop! Please don't kill him! Take my life instead, just let him go!" His voice was raw with anguish; he knelt, kowtowing before her. Fei's clone prepared to kill him instead, but Leon intervened with a sharp, "Stop!"
She halted, turning towards Leon. Leon sighed, "These goblins are more complex than I thought. They speak, full of emotions… This is interesting. He'd rather sacrifice himself to save his friend. That's rare, even among humans, let alone goblins."
Leon, watching Fei's clone from behind, felt that something was off about her. He turned to Fei, "Is that really a clone? It feels… like a different person."
Fei hesitated. "Ah… well, it's not a clone. She's… the opposite of me. Different mind, different soul, different personality. Think of us as twins, but to separate us, I need enough strength and body for her to occupy. Cloning is just temporary," Fei exclaimed.
Luna, newly emerged from her own world, declared with a smug air, "I knew it! I've known from the start she's a different person." She said shamelessly, a hint of pride in her voice.
Leon, Stella, and Fei knew Luna was merely posturing; even if they knew it, she would never admit it. Leon noticed Luna's ears and face, even through the fur, seemed slightly flushed. He shook his head and addressed Fei, a silent communication passing between them. Fei understood and approached the kneeling goblin commander and her counterpart. Stella and Luna followed. Leon looked at Fei's clone and asked, "What's your name?"
Kneeling on one knee, her visible tail wagging excitedly, her face alight with anticipation, she replied, "Master, I have no name. Please give me one."
Leon smiled. "From now on, your name is Mei."
"Thank you, Master," Mei responded respectfully. "You can rest assured," she added, "I will not dishonor the name you have given me."
Leon nodded to Mei, then turned his attention to the kneeling goblin commander and the dark ape. He addressed the commander, "Do you want to become stronger?"
"Of course!" the goblin replied, his voice filled with yearning. "I want to be strong enough to protect my tribe."
Leon saw his opportunity. In this harsh world, survival requires not only strength, but also people, companions, land, and resources. He looked the goblin in the eye. "Then follow me. I may not be powerful now, but I promise you this: if I have the ability, I will protect you and your people, as long as you are loyal and serve me."
The goblin saw the sincerity in Leon's gaze and observed the highly skilled individuals, with high qualifications, surrounding him, all serving Leon willingly. He realized this man was no ordinary individual. He had no other choice now; taking a gamble, he nodded. "As long as you fulfill my wish, I am yours to command." He knelt down, bowing respectfully. "Greetings, Master." The dark ape, witnessing his friend's submission, also placed his uninjured hand on his chest and looked at Leon with submission.
Seeing their commander's submission, the remaining goblins hesitated, unsure what to do. The commander's gaze fixed on them. Though they knew him to be simple-minded, his loyalty to the tribe was unquestionable. One by one, they followed suit, kneeling and said in unison, "Greetings, Master."
A message appeared on the system's virtual panel: "One excellent-rank goblin and 38 common goblins wish to become your servants. Accept or decline?"
Leon mentally accepted. He felt a connection with them, a sense that he could end their lives with a mere thought. Unlike summoned creatures, there was no such urge to kill; only a connection. He couldn't be certain of their loyalty, however. This realization sparked a frustrated curse directed at the system. "Unreliable!" he muttered. "What if they betray me? How can I know if they're truly loyal?"
A word suddenly appeared at the system's virtual panel: "Host, if you want to know your summoned servants' loyalty, you just need to upgrade the system to level 3."
Seeing this, Leon couldn't help but sigh. The system was forcefully nudging him to upgrade. The problem was, it took too many magic crystals—1 billion magic crystals, just to upgrade the system to level 2, let alone level 3.
Stella, witnessing the goblins' submission, activated her healing skill, a soft silver glow enveloping the goblins and the ape's body. The wounds faded bit by bit, soon vanishing completely.
Exhausted from the mana expenditure, Stella stumbled from Luna's back. Leon instantly reacted, leaping to Fei's back and catching Stella before she fell. "You work hard, my love," he whispered in her ear. Stella blushed, lightly punching his chest.
"Mistress, are you alright?" Luna asked anxiously, noticing Stella's near-fall.
"I'm fine, Luna," Stella replied, snuggling into Leon's embrace. " I Just depleted my mana. I only need a little time to recover."
Luna was still worried, but since her mistress told her she was fine, she breathed a sigh of relief and kept a watchful eye on Stella, making sure she was truly fine.
With everyone's injuries healed, the goblin commander straightened, bowing deeply to Stella. "Thank you, Mistress," he said. The other goblins and the ape followed suit.
Stella blushed, nodding in response.
The goblin commander then addressed Leon, "Master, there's someone I want you to meet."
"Who?" Leon inquired.
"Our chief and the elders."
"Alright, show me the way," Leon agreed.
The goblin commander led the way, followed by the dark ape and the remaining goblins. Leon, carrying Stella on Fei's back, joined them, accompanied by Fei, Luna, and the ten Silver Moon Wolves.
While traveling, Leon was a little bit frustrated when he discovered that by killing 1st Tier goblins, Stella and his group only got 1 experience point each, except for the elite level-10 goblins which gave 10 experience points. Leon was suddenly frustrated, watching as he discovered the meager experience point rewards for killing first-tier goblins—a single point each, unless they were elite level-10 goblins, which yielded ten. The difficulty of leveling up only increased with each advancement.
The group descended to the twelfth floor. Goblins there prepared to attack, but the goblin commander stopped them. The descent continued to the nineteenth floor, a vast expanse of towering trees. Reaching the floor's edge, they discovered a hidden cave entrance and ventured inside. The cave was dark, but a faint light at its far end guided them. Emerging from the cave, they found themselves in a bustling goblin village: hundreds of wooden huts nestled beside a clear lake. Smoke curled from chimneys, goblin children played and laughed, and adults worked in distant fields. A larger hut in the center, undoubtedly the chief's residence, completed the idyllic scene.
