Superman's Saiyan little brother

Chapter 417: Chapter 417: The Space Finally Appears

"So, this was all part of your plan. But I don't believe you'd be so kind as to hand over an opportunity to invade Earth to your son, even if he is your son!" Carter Slade sneered at Murphy after hearing his words.

"Just wait and see," Murphy replied with a slight smirk, unaffected by Carter Slade's mockery, confident in his success.

From Murphy's perspective, Blackheart, under the guidance of his subordinates, had successfully secured the Saint Savaticon Covenant. Once subsequent tasks were completed, Murphy could harvest the rewards of this venture.

With Carter Slade dead and his soul in Murphy's possession, Murphy didn't think anyone could stop Blackheart on Earth.

Moreover, Blackheart was indeed powerful as a Hell Lord. Though he had been overly cautious and timid, obtaining the Saint Savaticon Covenant should embolden him. If anyone tried to thwart his path to becoming a lord now, Blackheart would likely fight back fiercely.

If Blackheart backed down even now out of fear, Murphy would doubt his heritage and his demonic nature, as Hell demons, even the lowest ones, always harbored ambitions to climb higher.

Meanwhile, at the tavern entrance, the waiter noticed Carter Slade had stopped breathing and quickly called out, "Guardian! Guardian, please teleport me, this horse, and the old man here..."

With a buzz, a spatial ripple appeared next to the waiter, teleporting Carter Slade, the waiter, and the old horse away.

"Where did the waiter go?" muttered a drunken patron exiting the tavern. "Slacking off during work hours... Today's Field's shift, right? I need to complain to their boss! Even in the supernatural world, workers shouldn't slack off..."

At the magical base, Field appeared with Carter Slade and the old horse. The Guardian looked puzzled, not understanding why Field had brought a horse, and noticing that Carter Slade seemed lifeless.

"He's Carter Slade. Before he died, he gave me a message about Murphy! Where's Constantine?" Field asked, shaking his head and speaking with urgency.

"What?!" The Guardian's face changed, not just because of Murphy's notorious reputation, but also because Robert and Constantine had recently been investigating Murphy. Field's information seemed timely.

Credit for this intelligence couldn't go entirely to Field. Constantine had strategically placed former Shadow Hunters in various supernatural communities, gathering information while earning a living. These communities were relatively safe, and the Guardian's teleportation spells could rescue them from most dangers.

Despite losing their supernatural powers, the former Shadow Hunters were still physically strong and adept, providing valuable intelligence to Constantine.

"Information about Murphy? What's this?" Robert appeared, having overheard Field's words. He had remained at the magical base and quickly joined them.

"Sayian, can you try to save him?" Field initially wanted to relay Carter Slade's message but remembered Robert's healing abilities, which had once left a deep impression on every Shadow Hunter. Field hoped Robert could save Carter Slade.

"I can heal, not resurrect. His life force is completely gone, and there's no injury to heal. I can't revive him. So, he passed the message to you?" Robert observed Carter Slade, noting the old horse's hopeful gaze, and sighed. "If he conveyed this message under such circumstances, it must be important. Tell us what he said."

Field felt regret. Though he hadn't known Carter Slade personally, he admired his bravery. Like the ancient Greek messenger Pheidippides, who ran tirelessly to deliver news of victory, Carter Slade had fought against death to relay Hell's schemes.

"Alright!" Regaining his composure, Field conveyed Carter Slade's message. "The old hero Carter Slade said that Murphy's son, Blackheart, has come to Earth. He is a Hell Lord and has seized the Saint Savaticon Covenant. He must be stopped at Saint Savaticon, or he will establish a foothold on Earth. Saint Savaticon is located..."

"Blackheart? Not Murphy? Just a Hell Lord?" Robert was momentarily taken aback. He had expected Murphy himself.

However, Robert quickly realized something was amiss. Murphy had just lost his vessel, the Joker, to Clark. Now, his son Blackheart appeared. This reeked of a Murphy scheme.

Knowing Murphy was aware of Clark and Robert's powers, sending a mere Hell Lord wouldn't suffice. There must be some hidden plot involving Blackheart. It was unlikely Blackheart came to Earth alone.

"Guardian, open a portal!" Robert instructed, his tone resolute.

"Alright!" Understanding the urgency, the Guardian quickly activated the portal, then froze.

"What's happening? The portal isn't working?" The Guardian was stunned as the portal failed, similar but not identical to the earlier incident involving the Space Gem.

"Can you at least locate the state or city?" Robert frowned, sensing the complexity. If Saint Savaticon was targeted by Murphy, it wouldn't be simple.

"Yes, I can!" The Guardian sighed with relief after a quick check. The portal wasn't broken; the issue was the specific location.

With a buzz, Robert stepped through the portal, arriving in the city near Saint Savaticon, then swiftly headed northwest to find the location.

Despite extensive sensing, using both energy and psychic powers, Robert found nothing indicating Saint Savaticon. Even astral projection yielded no results.

"What's going on? Was the information wrong? Did Carter Slade, in his dying moments, give the wrong place?" Robert muttered, perplexed after exhaustive searches yielded nothing. It felt off.

"Clark?" Robert decided to contact Clark, hoping his eyes might detect something different.

With a swoosh, Clark soon appeared beside Robert, but he too frowned, finding no anomalies in sight or through psychic scanning. The area seemed utterly ordinary.

"Are you sure your information is correct?" Clark questioned, now doubting the reliability of Robert's source.

"Initially, I doubted it too. But if nothing was here, why would the portal fail to transport us directly?" Robert shrugged, pointing out the oddity.

If the portal hadn't failed, Robert might have doubted the information. But the portal's failure indicated something significant, making Robert certain there was something hidden here, something powerful enough to evade detection by both him and Clark.

"That is a problem!" Clark agreed. The portal's malfunction confirmed the area's significance.

"But should we just wait here?" Clark soon asked, unwilling to simply stand guard indefinitely.

"No, you keep an eye on this place. If someone shows up, notify me. That Blackheart got the Saint Savaticon Covenant, he'll come here eventually. When he does, the hidden power will reveal itself. I don't believe these demons can act without making any noise!" Robert decided, confident in his plan.

"Alright, I'll monitor here. We don't have much choice..." Clark nodded, accepting the plan. They had no other leads.

Soon, Robert and Clark left, though Clark continued watching the area, waiting for Blackheart, the Hell Lord, to appear.

Clark was puzzled about how Blackheart, a Hell Lord, reached Earth. Earth hadn't seen a second Hell Lord, and any attempt to sneak in should have been detected by him.

While Clark monitored the area, Blackheart, guided by the petrified Earth Demon, was completing the steps to activate the Saint Savaticon Covenant.

Indeed, obtaining the Covenant involved a complex process, which was why Murphy hadn't done it himself, requiring extensive time on Earth.

"Damn! Does this cursed covenant need so many conditions to activate?!" Blackheart's patience was wearing thin, as he went through one tedious step after another. If not for his ambition and the Earth Demon's last breath guiding him, Blackheart wouldn't have endured these tasks.

Had the Earth Demon been fully operational, Blackheart wouldn't trust him to complete the tasks, suspecting potential betrayal. Blackheart, unused to such endeavors, was merely venting his frustrations.

After an indeterminate period, Blackheart finally completed the preliminary tasks. The Saint Savaticon Covenant began to glow, filling Blackheart with excitement.

At the same time, Clark, watching Saint Savaticon's location, noticed a mystical energy surge, instantly invigorating him.

"Robert! Something's happening! There's a surge of supernatural energy!" Clark alerted Robert, flying towards Saint Savaticon.

Soon, Clark and Robert were hovering over Saint Savaticon, observing the ground below with keen interest. After a moment, Robert spoke, "So, there's a subspace here? It didn't manifest earlier, which is why we couldn't see it. But we can't seem to enter this subspace either!"

Robert and Clark were familiar with subspaces, given their experience with the Savage Island, modified by Jor-El. However, this subspace was more mysterious, akin to a mythical subspace, possibly similar to Paradise Island, which Robert hadn't seen.

"It's likely similar to Paradise Island, which remained hidden until a certain condition was met. We'll need to find a way to access this subspace," Robert speculated, studying the area for clues.
