Chapter 2283: The Capital's New Elite

The Emperor was a man in his sixties. His gaze swept over Peter Brown and the others, and a smile appeared on his face.

"You all are the final victors of this Battle of Throne, receive your ennoblement..."

No surprises here, the five who finally obtained a colorful sphere were all ennobled as Centurions.

After the ennoblement, the Emperor looked at Peter Brown, then at the others, saying, "When the Foreign Tribes from the north invaded, I have already assembled an army of One hundred thousand; you will each have a thousand subordinates. I hope you fight for the country and achieve even greater merits!"

"Thank you, Your Majesty!"

Everyone gave a gesture of respect.

"Now, report to the Military three days later."

Having said that, the Emperor left briskly.

However, with Peter Brown's eyesight, he could tell that this Emperor was probably holding himself together with some kind of medicine and was indeed extremely frail inside.

This old guy probably isn't going to last much longer!

Seeing this, Peter Brown thought of many things. This invasion by the foreign tribes was probably due to some rumors they heard, knowing that the Emperor was failing, and thus they invaded.

Of course, with Peter Brown's medical skills, curing this Emperor wasn't difficult, but he had no such intention. The Emperor's survival meant nothing to him; he was here just to comprehend the power of rules.

The other four clasped their fists towards Peter Brown, still holding a sense of awe towards him. They knew that even if the four of them joined forces, they might not be Peter Brown's match.

As Peter Brown glanced over those who finally secured a position, he could see that although there were so many chairs, many were unoccupied.

For instance, the Centurions' seats could originally accommodate a hundred people, but now only a little over forty were seated, as many had died in battle.

Riding on a warhorse, Peter Brown had just arrived at the Windsor Family's territory when the Windsor Family members surrounded him once again.

Excitement!

Thrill!

Unbelief!

Various emotions intertwined. Today, for the Windsor Family members, it truly felt like a dream. This child, who wasn't even recognized by the Windsor Family, had now achieved such astonishing accomplishments.

Stone Brown was excited, exclaiming, "Good, good, good!"

He didn't even know what to say; Peter Brown was someone from his branch, so naturally, he also felt the glory.

Very soon, Peter Brown and the others returned to the Windsor Family.

Just as they arrived, fireworks erupted, and male and female servants of the Windsor Family lined up into two rows to welcome their arrival.

Peter Brown smiled when he saw Melody Carter and Emily Williams.

For these two women, Peter Brown indeed recognized them as his family, and rare familial affection was evident on their faces. Melody Carter rushed to him, holding him tightly and cried.

To her, Peter Brown was now her Heaven. If anything happened to him, she didn't know what would result from it.

Emily Williams also began to cry, holding onto her brother and not letting go.

Peter Brown smiled, supported the two women, saying, "Don't worry, I'm fine."

"Don't you risk your life?" Melody Carter asked.

Peter Brown smiled and said, "We are a noble family, going to the battlefield is inevitable. Rest assured, there's no one who can kill me."

Stone Brown then said, "Alright, everyone, let's go inside. This is good news for our Windsor Family. From now on, let no one say that the Windsor Family is without people!"

After entering the Five Mansions, naturally, a family banquet was held. Everyone was excited, and the rekindled interest in the Windsor Family was a joyous occasion for every member.

After the meal, Peter Brown was summoned to the Conference Hall by the family elders.

When Peter Brown sat down, Mattie Brown looked at the elders and said, "According to our Windsor Family rules, once someone becomes above a Centurion, they automatically join the Elder Group. Now that Peter Brown has achieved the rank of Centurion, and this is a direct appointment from Your Majesty, from now on, he is a member of our Windsor Family's Elder Group. Does anyone oppose?"

The elders looked at Peter Brown, but there was no opposition.

"Very well, from now on, Peter Brown will enjoy the benefits of being an elder!"

Having concluded this, Mattie Brown looked at Peter Brown and said, "In the past, our Windsor Family did indeed fall short, especially with the matter of letting your branch go. We hope you don't hold onto this. From now on, your family will enjoy the best treatment from our Windsor Family. Even if something were to happen to you on the battlefield, your mother and sister will surely be well taken care of by our Windsor Family!"

Peter Brown glanced at Mattie Brown, then at the elders, smiled slightly, and said, "If that's the case, I have no objections."

Mattie Brown let out a sigh of relief and said, "Noble families have their noble dilemmas. It's good you can understand."

In truth, Peter Brown had seen clearly for a long time; in such large families, there was little familial affection, more so value. Without value, no one would offer you benefits. Now that he had value, benefits naturally followed.

"Elders, I also have a request."

The family elders were naturally also elders, so Peter Brown simply addressed them as such.

"Go ahead."

Mattie Brown smiled and said.

"According to some family rules, as long as someone achieves the rank of Centurion and the family has a successor, the family with a Centurion can move out of the Windsor Family to establish another family. Of course, it still belongs to Windsor Family holdings. So, I plan to move out of Kingston House and establish my own family."

Mattie Brown and the other elders exchanged looks, and in truth, they agreed with this matter. After all, the Windsor Family had a successor, and they didn't want to pass the noble title to Peter Brown. As long as he represented the Windsor Family, it would be a win-win situation.

To put it honestly, Peter Brown's value to the Windsor Family was almost complete. After helping the Windsor Family this time, he would naturally go to the battlefield, and who knows what the situation would be like? Peter Brown had also killed some children of military families, offending quite a few. After moving out, the Windsor Family could alleviate some of the pressure from these military families.

It was just that everyone didn't quite understand why Peter Brown would choose to move out at such a time, which was disadvantageous to him.

Looking at Peter Brown, Mattie Brown said, "Although doing this benefits our Windsor Family, reducing pressure, I still want to say that remaining at Kingston Estate means the Windsor Family can provide you shelter from the storm. There's no need for this!"

Peter Brown smiled and replied, "I fear nothing!"
