Suddenly Reincarnated Into R-19 Novel

Chapter 8: Chapter 8

"What's wrong, Henny?" Penelope asked, her voice laced with concern as I felt the panic rising within me. My mind raced with anxiety about what was to come.

I struggled to speak, my heart pounding so loudly that it drowned out everything else.

"Henny? Is something bothering you? You look pale," she continued, unaware of the dark deeds Lord Lukas had committed against the maids here—deeds that had involved nearly every maid, including the original Henny. Should I tell her about Lukas's madness?

"Lady Penelope, I have something important to tell you—" I began, but was startled when someone gripped my shoulders from behind.

"I'm quite interested to hear what you have to say, Henny," a menacing voice interrupted. It was Lord Lukas. I instinctively stepped back and bowed my head in submission.

"Sorry, Lady Penelope, I seem to have forgotten what I wanted to say. Please excuse me." Even as I spoke, I could feel Lukas's gaze piercing through me, sending shivers down my spine.

I hurried into the kitchen, unable to suppress the nausea that threatened to overwhelm me. The weight of despair made it feel as though everything I had eaten was rising back up.

I recalled earlier when Lukas had whistled at me and said something unsettling: "L-e-t-s m-e-e-t a-g-a-i-n H-e-n-n-y." The memory sent chills down my spine.

When I returned to the guest room, Lord Lukas was gone, but Penelope wrapped her arms around me tightly.

"I have good news for you, Henny! Lord Lukas told me he would stop visiting me, but on one condition: you will replace his exclusive maid. I remember you mentioned liking Lord Lukas; this is a great opportunity for you, isn't it?"

At those words, I felt my world collapse around me. Why? Why was this happening to me? What purpose did I serve in this story? Living in this world felt worse than hell itself.

When I opened my eyes again, Penelope's worried face greeted me.

"Are you okay, Henny? You look so pale," she said gently, holding my hand.

"I don't want to go with Lord Lukas," I confessed, noticing her expression shift at my words. Her face darkened slightly.

"But you told me before that you liked him," she countered. Perhaps that was the original Henny speaking then—not me.

"I don't feel that way anymore; maybe I was just infatuated with him," I lied. But when Penelope tightened her grip on my hand, her determination became palpable.

"Henny, please understand—I can't have Lord Lukas meddling in my life anymore, especially since I'm about to marry the man I love." Her words struck me like ice water poured over my head. She couldn't be serious!

"Please, Henny! Go with Lord Lukas! I need your help!"

"But—" My protest faltered as I saw tears welling in her eyes.

"Okay…" I relented as she hugged me tightly, her joy evident. In that moment, while Penelope prepared to leave without me—exactly as I had planned—I never anticipated that I would end up with that monster Lukas!

Lord Lukas was far more dangerous than Duke Felix. His thoughts were unpredictable; he was known among readers of Love Under the Rose as a two-faced bastard capable of manipulating everyone around him.

"Tomorrow morning, Lukas will come for you," Penelope said before leaving me alone with my swirling thoughts.

The Next Day...

I stood outside the mansion waiting for the carriage to arrive. Moments later, a carriage pulled up before me. As it came into view, there he was—Lord Lukas—with his revealing attire that showcased his perfect chest.

I quickly bowed my head in respect as he approached and lifted my chin with his hand.

"I'll make you pay, sweetheart." My eyes widened in shock as he licked my ear. Panic surged through me; all I wanted was to run away from him—but I had to fulfill Penelope's wishes.

With nowhere else to go and bound for life as Penelope's servant, I had no right to choose whom to serve unless she were dead.

"Get in," he commanded coldly. Trembling with fear yet unable to defy him, I climbed into the carriage.

As we began moving away from the mansion, I stared out the window at the passing scenery.

"How about spreading your legs for me?" he suggested casually. My grip on my skirt tightened in response.

"Hurry up! Don't keep me waiting!" His irritation only heightened my anxiety. No!

"I'm sorry, my lord; but I can't do that. I will serve you as best as possible but not in that way." Desperation filled my voice as I tried to remain calm; crying and begging wouldn't help here—I knew this man! He was a demon disguised as an angel before his victims.

"Tsk! Do you know why I'm taking you to my mansion? Because I'll make you my slave." He held my chin firmly as he spoke.

"I understand—but what if I refuse?" My voice trembled slightly as I met his lifeless gaze.

"I'll show you what you should do." Just then, our carriage came to an abrupt stop.

"What happened?" His annoyance seeped through his words.

"It seems Duke Felix's carriage is blocking our path." D-Duke Felix?

Before I could process this information further, the door of our carriage burst open violently. There stood Duke Felix himself, fury etched across his face.

He lunged forward and grabbed Lukas by the collar before delivering a powerful punch. "You dare impersonate me and take advantage of Penelope!" Felix's voice boomed with authority.

My heart raced as Felix's gaze landed on me next; his expression turned dark and menacing.

"Such insolence! You dare look into my eyes?" He demanded angrily. Instinctively, I bowed my head in submission.

"I'm sorry your Excellency!" As he stormed past me and approached Lukas—who remained seated on the ground with a smug grin—I couldn't shake off the feeling of dread looming over us all.

"Penelope is great," Lukas chuckled mockingly as if recalling some unspeakable memory—a thought that sent shivers down my spine.

Finally arriving at Felix's mansion, I followed behind Lukas and couldn't help but notice how provocatively dressed his maids were—skirts too short and their chests nearly spilling out of their tops. Their cheeks flushed bright red upon seeing Lord Lukas; they turned their gazes toward me with disdainful looks.

"My Lord," one maid began hesitantly, "may I ask where my room is?"

"Tsk! The maids will take care of you here; don't disturb me!" With that command issued dismissively over his shoulder, he entered his chamber while leaving me standing there awkwardly under their scrutinizing stares.

Their glares felt like daggers aimed at my heart until one maid approached and led me to the room where I'd be staying.

As we walked together through the halls of this mansion filled with immoral undertones and hidden agendas, it became painfully clear just how depraved Lord Lukas truly was.

"This is what you'll wear from now on," she said cheerfully while handing me a scandalous outfit that left little to the imagination.

"No… please! I have comfortable clothes here!" My protests fell on deaf ears as she insisted on dressing me in this revealing uniform instead of letting me keep what little dignity remained intact after all this chaos began unfolding around us.

We started working together shortly after—but nothing could prepare me for how hellish life would become within these walls filled with wickedness and vice surrounding every corner!

"Clean this!" One maid kicked at my stomach harshly while barking orders at me like a dog. She wasn't satisfied until she slapped my face hard enough for tears to well up in response.

"Listen carefully! Don't act tough here like you're someone important!" Though pain coursed through every inch of my body from their relentless beatings—I kept quiet and returned quickly back to work despite feeling utterly broken inside from their cruelty towards me!

Yet still… it felt better than what Duke Felix had put me through before!

As night fell upon us while wandering through gardens filled with fragrant blooms—a faint sound caught my attention… crying? A man's voice?

Turning around revealed an angelic face before me: golden hair framing striking blue eyes—someone familiar yet distant at once…

I reached into my pocket for a handkerchief before offering it silently; surprised when he accepted it gratefully without hesitation!

"Thank you," he murmured softly while nodding appreciatively back at me…

"Master Rafael," another maid interjected urgently nearby. "You need to return inside immediately; Lord Lukas is looking for you."

My heart skipped a beat upon hearing that name: Rafael?
