Suddenly Reincarnated Into R-19 Novel

Chapter 10: Chapter 10

"Henny, what are you doing? I'm in pain!" I pulled her out of my room. We descended the stairs, and there stood Lord Lukas.

"My lady, it seems you have a visitor." I smirked. Why not find a way to make Duke Felix and Lukas fight each other?

"Peneloppe, you're here!" He embraced Peneloppe, her eyes widening in surprise. The glare she shot at me was fierce.

"Henny, how did you know Lukas was here? Are you two conspiring together?"

"No, my lady... Did you not know that Lord Lukas frequently visits you? Why are you surprised?" I replied coldly.

I couldn't help but smile as I watched Lukas hug her and kiss her neck.

"I'll miss you, Henny," he said, and I noticed Peneloppe stiffen at his words.

"Get away from me, Lukas! I'm marrying Felix!" she exclaimed, which only made my grin widen as a sudden plan formed in my mind.

"Don't worry, my lady; I will ensure that no one finds out about this. It all depends on whether there are spies in your mansion." I saw Peneloppe's shock at my statement.

"You know I've served you for a long time; I won't allow your reputation to be tarnished—"

"You liar, Henny! Why are you acting like this?" Did I really need to answer that question? Tsk!

"What did he do to you, Peneloppe?" he asked coldly while glaring at me. This was exactly what I wanted!

"He threatened my life!" I grinned as she took the bait. Lukas stepped closer to me and wrapped his hands around my neck.

"How dare you?" His voice was icy as he lifted me off the ground, making it hard for me to breathe.

"You dare threaten my Peneloppe." I smirked and spat at him. He released me and glared fiercely.

"Why? Are you disgusted?" I asked while clutching my neck and laughing in front of them.

"Do you think you can escape the truth that you're having an affair? Well, why not? Everyone has desires; it's normal. But the thing is, you must accept the consequences." I laughed again maniacally at the thought of what would unfold.

"What if I told the Duke? How much do you think he would pay for this information?"

"No, please! Henny, I'll do anything; just don't tell him about this," he pleaded desperately.

"Alright, I'm easy to negotiate with. I won't say anything about it, but can you afford what I'm going to ask for?" Yes! I needed money... After all, money is power here.

"What if we kill Peneloppe—" I cut him off.

"Kill me? Even if you do that, the Duke will still find out about this. And worse, he might call off the wedding with Peneloppe. But if I'm alive, I can cover for her." I grinned at them both.

"And besides, I know you've slept with Lukas because you wanted to, right?" Her eyes widened in shock.

"Peneloppe, learn to be content with one... Don't juggle between two." Her situation was different from mine; she chose this path while mine was a nightmare from the past.

"But under one condition: you must come with me to ensure that you won't tell the Duke."

"I have no problem with that, my lady." Lukas still looked at me with disdain, but I ignored his glare and walked away back to my room.

I glanced again at my wrist. Only one life left for me. I wouldn't allow myself not to take revenge on this opportunity.

I got up from the bed and approached the table where a dagger lay. I threw it at the wall but missed. Picking it up again for a second attempt also failed. On the third try, it hit its mark.

If not now, maybe tomorrow—but what if there's no tomorrow? Then it's tomorrow again." I lay back on my bed because tomorrow I'd accompany Peneloppe. I needed to be brave to protect myself; if being greedy is necessary to achieve what I want, then so be it—I wouldn't care about anyone else. With a sigh, I stood up and returned to my work.

Duke Felix's Perspective

"No! Please don't die, Henny." As I cradled her lifeless body in my arms, I laid her down on the bed and called for a healer and physician. Yet none of them could save Henny.

"This is my fault! If only I'd restrained myself for your sake... If only this hadn't happened to you; it's all my fault."

I caressed her cheek. No! You can't leave me! Immediately standing up from my seat, I ordered the knights to bring me the Witch.

She was the only one who could help bring Henny back to me. After five long days of waiting, they finally found her.

"Good evening, Excellency. How may I assist you?"

"Bring Henny back to life. Please revive my beloved." She approached Henny while I watched closely.

She smiled as she turned towards me.

"I believe your wife is alive but will only return once you've forgotten everything about her." My brow furrowed at her words.

"Can you see her wrist?" She pointed out Henny's wrist where there was a number three inscribed on it. Why hadn't I noticed that before?

"This indicates how many lives she has left. She has three chances to change her past." Her revelation shocked me.

"Do you want to see your wife again?" I nodded eagerly; happiness flooded through me at the thought of seeing Henny once more.

"Don't rush your decision, Excellency; your wife may have changed significantly; be cautious around her."

"I don't care if she's changed. What matters is seeing her and being with her for the rest of my life—"

"But it won't be easy; I'm sensing your late wife's anger towards you. I'm sorry but you'll need to keep your distance."

"You must show her that you've forgotten about her because if she learns that you still remember her, you'll never see her again."

Since that moment when the witch told me this, I've refrained from approaching Henny because if she finds out that I remember her... It might haunt me forever. During our encounters, I even pretended to block Lukas's carriage just so I'd catch a glimpse of her.

I did everything possible to ignore her; I'd only glance at her when in truth all I wanted was to embrace Henny tightly.

Until one day, I woke up back in time again. Why so fast?

It's another time loop. Did she die again? She has only one life left; if she takes it again, maybe I'll never see Henny again. Losing her from my life is unbearable.
