Chapter 993: Defusing the Crisis
The success rate of close-range surprise attacks has always been high, not to mention Luo Zheng was concerned that Shijing Chun was a master, so he went all out at the start. He didn't expect the attacks on the Shenque acupoint and the Qi Hai Acupoint to work so well, rendering Shijing Chun completely immobile. The subsequent attack on the Jianjing acupoint seemed somewhat redundant, but Luo Zheng still breathed a sigh of relief, since after the Jianjing acupoint was targeted, Shijing Chun was completely incapacitated.
"No—? What did you do to me?" Shijing Chun exclaimed in horror as he looked at Luo Zheng, his face full of disbelief, accompanied by endless panic and resentment.
"I didn't expect you to answer questions, because this is not the right setting. In another place, someone will ask you the same questions. Of course, you may still choose to remain silent." Luo Zheng continued coldly, his gaze wary on Shijing Chun as he carefully took the detonator from Shijing Chun's hand. His eyes fell on the pulse detonator, and he continued coldly, "Without the detonator, you can't actively detonate the explosives here."
"Bastard, you're too cunning. I didn't expect to be controlled even like this. But you still can't kill me. As soon as I'm dead, the pulse detonator will still set off the bombs here." Shijing Chun shouted somewhat hysterically, losing the composure he had earlier, with eyes glaring at Luo Zheng like a wounded hungry wolf.
"Is that so? Without the detonator, you can't actively attack. Although our signal jammer can't interfere with the signal of your pulse detonator, your body is out of control and can't move. You can't kill yourself. As long as we take you out of the martial arts hall, a kilometer away, the signal won't reach here. Even if you're killed, it doesn't matter. I should thank you for telling me the signal reception distance." Luo Zheng looked at Shijing Chun with a cold smile, as if knowing he had the upper hand, fully relieved because a defenseless Shijing Chun was no longer a concern.
"The Shijing family lost to you, and now it seems not unjustified at all." Shijing Chun said pale-faced, his eyes in turmoil with panic and a mix of despair and helplessness, but mostly anger, wishing nothing more than to tear Luo Zheng to pieces and scatter his bones.
"You lost." Luo Zheng said coldly, grabbing some rope from the side to securely bind Shijing Teng, just in case. He cautiously glanced out the window, rushed up, and drew the curtains to block the view. His sharp eyes fell back on Shijing Chun, who appeared pale and as if he had completely given up resisting, which made Luo Zheng pause in surprise.
Suddenly, an idea hit Luo Zheng, and he asked with shock, "You have a sniper set up outside, don't you? The pulse detonator can't be removed unless it's forcefully destroyed or your arm is severed, but doing so might trigger the bomb. Once I take you out, your men will shoot you, and once you're dead, the bomb detonates. Am I right?" His gaze fixed on Shijing Chun like a blade, not missing any detail, his whole body emanating an icy cold aura.
Shijing Chun closed his eyes in despair and didn't answer Luo Zheng's question, but his action said it all. Luo Zheng felt secretly relieved that he hadn't let victory cloud his judgment and taken Shijing Chun straight outside, which would have been disastrous. He glanced around and found no signal transmitter or jammer.
Luo Zheng quickly dashed to the bed and drew all the curtains before carrying Shijing Chun downstairs. Shijing Chun, completely bound, with nails still in his acupoints rendering him immobile yet alive, felt both infinitely desperate and enraged. "I still underestimated you. Even a tenth of a second of opportunity couldn't escape you. What did you do to my body? How did you control me completely?"
"It's complicated to explain. I prefer my enemies to die with regrets and doubts." Luo Zheng sneered, carrying Shijing Chun to the lobby entrance and throwing him in the corner to avoid being seen from outside, while signaling a major general.
The major general hesitated, but strode forward confidently. The guards, shocked, rushed forward to defend, but as the major general reached the entrance, Luo Zheng dragged him in slightly and showed him the tightly bound Shijing Chun. The major general was instantly excited, his eyes eventually landing on the pulse detonator on Shijing Chun's arm, dismissing it with a sneer, "Get someone to take this bastard away as far as possible, preferably to the sea or a no-signal place, then notify me."
Apparently, the major general knew how to deal with pulse detonators as well. As the guards prepared to act, Luo Zheng quickly said, "Wait, he can't go out."
"Oh? Why?" The major general asked, surprised, looking at Luo Zheng.
"He has accomplices covering the area around, and as soon as he shows himself, he'll be sniped. The signal range of this pulse detonator is about two kilometers." Luo Zheng quickly said, deliberately exaggerating the distance to prevent accidents, his eyes falling back on Shijing Chun, noticing a flash of astonishment in Shijing Chun's eyes, indicating he wasn't being truthful. It could be more than two kilometers, Luo Zheng thought, feeling secretly relieved.
"What do you plan to do?" The major general asked, his face growing serious.
"Destroy the signal transmitter inside. Also, arrange for an armored vehicle to come to the entrance to transport this bastard." Luo Zheng quickly replied, his eyes cautiously scanning the outside, while speaking into his earpiece, "Can you hear me?"
The earpiece produced static, with poor signal. Luo Zheng guessed that the signal at the entrance was also blocked by the martial arts hall's signal jammer. Resigning to the fact he couldn't contact Lan Xing, he saw the major general send a guard outside to coordinate and arrange the necessary steps, then looked at Luo Zheng with a gratified smile, saying, "Well done! I've heard of your reputation, and now seeing you in action, you indeed stand out. How did you do it?"
"That's a secret." Luo Zheng chuckled and handed the captured detonator to the major general.
The major general inspected it briefly, surprised, and asked, "This bastard had a detonator? This thing is incredibly sensitive. Pressing it would be troublesome. He must have had it, right? How did you take it from him?"
Luo Zheng gave a slight smile without answering, and the major general realized something and laughed wryly, "That's a secret too, isn't it?"
"I never said so." Luo Zheng laughed.
"You sly one, no wonder your enemies suffer under your tactics. You're not one to take a loss. If only we had more people like you in our country, we old folks could rest easy. Could you come to visit me some time?" The major general said, feeling a bit emotional.
"Another time, I'm exhausted. Just want to sleep." Luo Zheng replied with a smile, politely declining.
"Alright, next time for sure, remember." The major general didn't mind and answered with a laugh.
