Strongest Necromancer System

Chapter 590: The Inescapable Predator

The fight between Gina and Zod had taken longer than it should have because Gina was trying hard not to kill Zod, but in the end, she finally managed to take him down.

'Everything's fine. Zod used a rune to boost his power to SSS-Rank, and I had to step in since Jaraht wasn't strong enough, but it's all done now. Are you going to be back soon?'

Jason felt proud that Gina could now handle SSS-Rank so easily, and he said that he was almost done.

"I just have to take care of one more thing, so you can go back to bed first. I'll be there soon, I promise."

Jason heard Gina yawn the moment he mentioned the bed, and he chuckled as he realised that Gina must be really tired. The both of them haven't had a proper night's rest in a good bed for a long time now, so they always tried to make the most of it whenever they could use an actual bed.

'You promise you won't take long? I'll be lonely without you.'

Gina whispered this eagerly and Jason felt his lips curving into a smile involuntarily. Jason had to release a calming breath to try to relax before he finally answered.

"I'll be back before you even know it."

Gina smiled.

'Alright, babe. I'll see you soon.'

Gina closed the mental connection, and Jason's grin remained for a few more seconds before he finally turned towards the castle with a more serious expression. Jason waved his hand towards his subordinates with a mental command, and they all fell into the shadows and began to move forward quickly. Jason looked around to make sure there was no one watching before he pulled his hood over his head and began walking forward at a calm pace.

[The world of Fria.]

[One Dimensional Leap Away from Yortsed.]

Boom! Boom! Boom!

The echoes of massive footsteps travelled across the frozen landscape of Fria. The ground shook, and intense tremors caused great avalanches and sinkholes across the world. Fria had once been a beautiful world filled with large green lands and beautiful flowing rivers. It had been the sort of world where any family would love to go for their holidays, and there were large resorts and beautiful inns that served as resting spots for anyone who came to visit this world! It had literally been a vacation wonderland! But that was no longer the case.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Growwwl~!

Why is it said that a hunter should never turn his back on a predator that he has injured? Hunters in the wild were known to be very conservative, and many hunters would never kill an animal unless they wanted to eat it. But there were times when a hunter would clash with another predator in the wild. The hunter and predator would fight, and more often than not, the hunter would come out on top due to the fact that they were smarter than the predator! But even after injuring the predator and making sure that it could not go on the attack, the hunter would still kill it! And the reason for this was simple. All predators were vindictive creatures, and the moment they mark you as their prey, they will stop at nothing to ensure you are dead!

Deep tremors travelled across the land of Fria as a massive creature trekked forward. Everywhere the creature approached was immediately assaulted by an intense, undeniable chill that covered the world in ice, and it wasn't long before the entire world of Fria had been transformed into a frozen winterland. The green landscape and beautiful scenery that once populated this world had now been reduced to a frozen wilderness filled with the silence of death. The rivers had frozen over, and the sky had darkened with the black clouds of a storm! The inns that once had various laughing families and couples who came to enjoy this world had all been frozen solid, and they were now filled with families that were immortalized as frozen silver statues!

Growwwl~!

The Beast of the Apocalypse let out a deep, rumbling growl and a puff of cold air flowed out from its mouth. The creature was hunched over and it walked with a slow, deliberate pace as it moved through the world! But anyone who saw the sharp narrow eyes hidden behind the beast's long hair would know that this was a creature on a mission! The Beast was a predator that had marked its prey, and the Beast was on its way to claim what was rightfully his!

As the beast walked, it followed a thread of mana that led it forward. The mana glowed with a dull blue light that shone like a homing signal to the beast's senses, and the beast didn't even spare a glance for the amount of destruction it was causing to the world around it! Its eyes were completely fixed on the thread of mana, and the only thought on its mind now was to reach the end of this thread! It didn't matter how far its prey ran or how desperately its prey tried to escape; there was nothing that would stop the beast from reaching him!

The beast continued its deathly trek forward, and it wasn't long before the beast finally reached the edge of a large ocean that had frozen over and stretched as far as the eye could see. The blue thread travelled over the ocean and finally stopped almost a mile away from where the beast was standing. The beast let out one final growl before it began to trek over the thick ice, and it raised its hand as it approached the region where the thread had vanished! The Beast stopped at its final position before unleashing a massive pulse of mana that immediately tore open the fabric of reality and formed a large Dimensional Tear! The Dimensional Tear opened into a Dimensional Circle, and the Beast wasted no time as it slowly stepped through the Tear and into another world.

….

[The World of Yortsed.]

[A Few Seconds Earlier]

Jason made his way through the busy streets and loud corners of Yortsed with his head bowed. The hood over his head prevented anyone from seeing his face, and since he was suppressing his mana, he didn't seem out of place at all on the busy magical market. There were many different types of magical tools on sale. From magical swords to magical robes, and there was even one seller who sold good luck charms for people who were into gambling. Jason thought about getting one of those, but he decided that he would come back after he was done with his mission. The castle loomed large and imposing up ahead, and Jason easily jumped off the market floor and towards one of the tall building roofs to get a better look at it. Jason had already sent his shadows ahead to survey the castle and find out exactly where the prince was staying, and Jason was more than content with just relaxing until his subordinates came back with any news.

BA-DUMP!

But all of a sudden, Jason felt something shift in the air! It was an instantaneous thing, like the sudden drop in pressure during a rain storm or the intense surge in heat from standing too close to a large flame! Jason's heart actually skipped a beat, and Jason put his hand up to his chest in shock as he wondered what the hell just happened! For that single moment, Jason was completely confused about what could have caused that reaction in him, but it wasn't long before Jason's confusion turned to pure dread!
