Chapter 37 - This is Tougher Than Dai-Shocker!
“Qianqian, do you really believe what he said? He might just be making up things to deceive us,” Zheng Fang Xing expressed his doubts regarding Qing Mu’s claims.
Lin Qianqian shook her head gently in response, “I don’t think so. If he were truly a dangerous person, he wouldn’t have returned to the school so casually. The fact that he’s here suggests that he has nothing to hide, and maybe we should consider trusting him.”
“If what Qing Mu said is true, then we have a major issue on our hands. You know just how influential Eternal Technology Inc. is. Without solid evidence, even the higher-ups might hesitate to take action against them. Moreover, this could trigger a series of significant repercussions, and by then, it might…” Zhang De Yuan’s words were left unfinished.
But all of them understood what he meant.
Dragon Country might be facing a major upheaval.
“Captains, this isn’t something we should be worrying about. Our responsibility is to report the information we’ve gathered, and how to handle this matter is for the higher-ups to decide. We should focus on our assigned tasks,” Lin Qianqian said, despite her sometimes stubborn nature.
Although Lin Qianqian could be headstrong, she had learned a lot from her father, and in some respects, she had a deeper understanding than Zheng Fang Xing and Zhang De Yuan.
They left the school and returned to Yancheng Defense Base, reporting the information they had obtained from Qing Mu to Lin Zhendong.
Lin Zhendong was no less shocked than Lin Qianqian and her team. However, the cunning Lin Zhendong chose not to make a fuss. There was currently no concrete evidence to prove that Eternal Technology Inc. had committed these acts. The immediate priority was to investigate and gather solid evidence, confirming whether or not Eternal Technology Inc. was indeed involved in such activities. Without concrete proof, he couldn’t take any action, regardless of how badly he wanted to eradicate the threat posed by Eternal Technology Inc.
Lin Qianqian also informed Lin Zhendong about Qing Mu’s interest in obtaining information on the Underworld organization. Lin Zhendong was puzzled by Qing Mu’s interest in the Underworld organization. After some consideration, he signaled to Lin Qianqian that she could share some information about the organization with Qing Mu, as long as it served as a bargaining chip for potential future assistance from Qing Mu.
Lin Zhendong knew firsthand how powerful Qing Mu was, and he hoped to bring him into the ranks of the Yancheng Defense Base, making him a valuable asset.
……
Early the next morning, Qing Mu was awakened by an incoming call from an unknown number. Annoyed, he answered the phone, “Hello? Who’s this?”
“Qing Mu, it’s me, Lin Qianqian. I apologize for calling so early,” she said.
“Oh, it’s you. What’s up?”
“You wanted information about the Underworld organization, right? I’ve obtained permission from higher-ups to share some information with you. If you’re interested, we can meet at the benches by the school lake at 4:30 PM this afternoon. It’s a quiet spot where we can talk.”
“Wow, you guys move fast. Alright, I’ll be there.”
Qing Mu ended the call and got ready for the day. Afterward, he headed to school.
In the afternoon, after school, Qing Mu turned down Li Ling’er’s invitation to have dinner together and went to the school lake to meet with Li Qianqian as planned.
For Qing Mu, finding information about the Underworld organization was his last hope of locating Qin Yu.
As he arrived at the bench by the lake, he saw Lin Qianqian already waiting there, holding a brown paper file folder.
Qing Mu approached her and commented, “You’re here early. Don’t you have classes?”
“My value isn’t in attending school; it’s in being a Kamen Rider and protecting humanity from monstrous threats,” Lin Qianqian replied with enthusiasm, her eyes shining with determination.
This showed her genuine passion for her role as a Kamen Rider and her dedication to safeguarding ordinary people.
Qing Mu sat down beside Lin Qianqian, and the two of them looked like a couple sitting together on a romantic date, enjoying the scenic view of the lake, with the breeze rustling the leaves of the willow trees along the shore.
“I’m here for the information,” Qing Mu said.
“It’s all here. Take a look. If you have any questions or need clarification, feel free to ask me,” Lin Qianqian replied, handing the brown paper file folder to Qing Mu.
Qing Mu opened the folder and began examining the documents. According to the information provided, the Underworld organization had become active three years ago, with a global presence and a formidable reach. Its founders were known as Hades and Nether King, but their true identities remained unknown.
In just three years, the Underworld organization had committed numerous shocking acts. These included massacring a village in the Black Soil Country, wiping out an entire family of a baron in the Gentleman’s Country, and making an entire fishing village in a coastal city of Dragon Country disappear overnight.
Qing Mu processed the disturbing accounts of Underworld’s activities, realizing that these were just the tip of the iceberg. To avoid causing public panic, governments worldwide had kept such terrifying incidents under wraps, concealing them from the general population.
If this organization were to exist in the world of Kamen Riders, its leaders, Nether King and Hades, would likely face a swift and overwhelming response from dozens of Riders. Underworld had proven itself to be a formidable dark organization, capable of rivaling Dai-Shocker.
However, the files Lin Qianqian provided primarily covered the past actions of Underworld. Information about the organization’s internal workings was scarce, if not entirely absent. Qing Mu found this aspect unsatisfactory.
Upon reviewing the files, Qing Mu placed them back into the folder and said, “It seems these documents don’t contain the information I was looking for.”
Lin Qianqian looked somewhat embarrassed and replied, “I understand what you’re looking for, but unfortunately, we have limited knowledge of the inner workings of the Underworld organization. They operate very discreetly, leaving no traces behind, and their members are all ruthless individuals. To date, we haven’t captured a single operative alive, so we have no access to internal information. However, there is one crucial piece of information I can share with you.”
“Critical information? What is it?” Qing Mu inquired eagerly.
Lin Qianqian continued solemnly, “Recently, it appears that the Underworld organization has experienced a major internal conflict. It seems Nether King and Hades clashed violently. The exact details are unknown to us. When our operatives arrived at the scene, it was a scene of devastation with numerous casualties. If you’re considering dealing with the Underworld organization, now might be the most opportune moment, as they could be at their weakest following this internal strife.”
