Star wars Rebels: Unwilling

Chapter 7: Chapter Seven

I didn't get it, at all.

I held the stick in my hand, the force slowly trickling into it with my guidance. I knew this was possible, it was working right now, but it wasn't... Sustainable, I guess, yeah, that was the correct word.

If I stopped guiding the Force, it wouldn't stay inside the stick, slowly dissipating into the surroundings again.

The stick exploded into splinters, again, the small parts stopping before they could reach me, floating in the air.

"What are you doing?"

Ezra asked me, tilting his head slightly in interest from where he was learning how to write, because education was important, or that's what I used as an excuse.

"Trying to make the stick stronger than it actually is."

I shrugged, getting a raised eyebrow in return from him.

"But it's a stick..."

I gave him an unimpressed look. Really? Was it a stick this whole time? Wow!

"Focus on studying."

He groaned, and went back to writing, looking disgruntled. I rolled my eyes, kids, seriously...

I reached to the side, grabbed another stick, and went back to training. This would take a while, I knew, but I had cultivated patience by taking care of Ezra for all this time.

I would be fine.

___

The force was bullshit, the training was bullshit, and fuck this.

I grumbled, playing with a Vibro knife and spinning it in my hand.

A month of training and I couldn't get it down at all. Stupid force reinforcement...

I grumbled, swinging my leg off the side of the edge I was sitting on, my eyes scanning the ground below where there were nothing but civilians.

I sighed, grabbing the blade by the hilt, and sighing in annoyance.

Pushing myself off the edge, I dropped down, slowing myself down with the force and landing on the ground silently.

No luck at all for the week...

The force pulsed around me in warning and I leaned my body back, my hand coming back to press flat on the ground.

The distinct sound of a blaster bolt hitting the ground reached my ears, as I kicked my legs up, pushing off with my hand and jumping back, my legs skidding on the ground.

I at where the burn was and looked in the opposite direction, spotting someone on top of a high building.

I tilted my body to the side, another bolt missing me by an inch.

This was new. A bounty hunter? Maybe. I didn't know I had a bounty on my head.

I ignored the scattering civilians, my eyes narrowing behind my mask.

A blaster would be very useful right about now, but all of them were too inaccurate to be effective at that range.

I sighed as I started walking forward on the now-empty street.

Look at me, a twelve-year-old doing stupid things, like walking up to a sniper.

I broke into a sprint, avoiding another bolt that impacted the ground behind me. Nearing the building in front of me, I pressed my foot on the wall and pushed myself up, grasping the edge of the roof.

Pulling myself up, I looked back at where the sniper was, spotting that he was still there, fortunately for me.

I ran forward, jumping from rooftop to rooftop, getting closer and closer. The rifle he had was rather accurate, I don't think I'll sell that one.

As I got closer and closer, the man stopped shooting and stood up to get a better angle since I was almost at the base of the building he was shooting me from.

I jumped up, grabbed the windowsill, and swung myself to the side to avoid a bolt that would have hit me in the head.

Pulling myself onto the roof, I ducked to the side, avoiding the hilt of the blaster. Reaching up, I grabbed the long barrel, pulling it back.

My hand lashed out, hitting the bounty hunter in the stomach, getting him to grunt. Wrapping my leg around his, I forcefully bent his knee, getting his head on my eye level.

I grabbed one of the Vibro knives on my waist, and with a swift thrust, the Vibro blade passed through his neck, exiting from the other side.

I pulled the knife back, allowing the bounty hunter to fall to the ground, lifeless, with me still holding the Blaser in hand.

Raising it, I looked it over with interest, it did look like a sniper rifle. Putting it on my back awkwardly with the sling, because the whole rifle was as tall as me.

Looking down at the dead body, I crouched down and rummaged through his clothes, tossing a few gadgets on the ground, grenades, more Vibro knives, useful for later, Blaster pistols, and finally, a bounty pin.

I pressed the button on it, and a hologram of me appeared above the projector.

Well, good to know, I had to worry about more things now.

Sighing, I reached to pull off the hood, noting that the dude was a Rodian. He was wearing some armor I could have smelted down and sold, or soled normally in the black market, though, I doubt it would be worth much.

Putting the bounty pin in my pocket, I grabbed the Vibro knives, putting them in a pouch on my waist, the grenades going in a separate one just in case.

Cleaning off the knife I used to kill the Rodian on his clothes, I put it in the holster and kicked the dead off the edge. The storm troopers would deal with it.

I looked down at the blaster pistols and sighed, grabbing them. I didn't know how accurate they were but still, they were worth some credits, at least.

Now that I had a sniper Blaster though, I could do what I wanted for the longest time in my past life, 360 no scope someone.

I chuckled to myself, I couldn't even use my humor with anyone, because who would understand call of duty references? Or dark souls references... or Memes?

Nobody, that's who.
