Standing Next To You

Chapter 613: For Her

A massive glass garden dome stood quietly in the heart of the property. Inside, blooming flower beds spread in graceful arcs of color—roses, tulips, hydrangeas, and peonies, each arranged with care.

A tall, elegant tree stood to one side, its shade cast over a soft carpet of grass. In the center of the garden was a man-made lake, glistening in the golden light, with a giant waterfall reaching the high ceiling of the glass dome, flowing gently over smooth stones.

Bei Sangyun stopped in her tracks. Her breath caught in her throat.

This was no ordinary garden.

It was a perfect replica of the spot in Flower Park—the place where they had shared special memories together. The layout, the tree, the waterfall—it was all exactly the same.

It was as if she had been transported back in time—to the very day Fei Chuan had first brought her there.

She remembered how they'd laid on the grass, how his ears had turned red when she teased him, how he shared his honest and sincere feelings.

Looking at this place now brought all those sweet memories rushing back.

"This…" Bei Sangyun turned to Fei Chuan, stunned, her voice catching in her throat.

"Do you like it?" Fei Chuan asked with a gentle smile. His eyes shone with anticipation, as if her answer meant the world to him.

Bei Sangyun's heart was thumping wildly. Her wide eyes curved into crescent moons as she smiled back at him. "I love it. Everything. It's perfect."

Fei Chuan's smile grew even wider. "I'm glad you do."

Bei Sangyun wasn't naïve. This place—this mansion, the villa- every corner, every detail—had clearly been designed with her in mind. But since Fei Chuan didn't mention it directly, she decided to play along and not press the topic.

Still, knowing that he had gone this far just for her made her heart ache in the sweetest way. Warmth bloomed in her chest, soft and lingering.

The garden wasn't the only beautiful part of the villa grounds. As Bei Sangyun caught sight of a small cart parked near the path, an idea lit up in her mind. She turned to Fei Chuan and asked if there were any bikes available.

Soon enough, the two of them were riding bicycles through the vast expanse of land. Fields stretched endlessly on both sides—rice, corn, watermelons, and countless other crops swaying under the breeze. They passed a small patch of forest, where wild plants and fragrant herbs grew freely. Between two distant mountains, a narrow river ran quietly, reminding Bei Sangyun of the River Village from her childhood.

They played games while biking, laughing and racing each other. At times, they slowed down just to enjoy the scenery—the golden leaves drifting down from the roadside trees, the way sunlight pierced through the branches, casting shimmering rays onto the path. The air was crisp and clean. The wind tangled playfully in their hair.

The crisp laughter of two adults rang out—they were like children, playing to their hearts' content.

Bei Sangyun tilted her head back, gazing up at the open sky. She closed her eyes for a moment, breathing in the moment deeply.

This place… was truly lovely. She never thought that after experiencing two lifetimes, she would feel like a child again—free and brimming with life.

....

When they arrived at the villa, the hired chefs had just finished preparing the meal. A feast was already laid out on the table, warm and inviting. They washed their hands and sat down to eat. Bei Sangyun, famished after biking and playing all afternoon, emptied her plate three times.

Seeing her hearty appetite, Fei Chuan's eyes lit up with amusement, and he ended up eating more than usual as well.

After the meal, the two of them headed down to the beach. Since the property was private, there was no one else around—just the sound of waves and the endless horizon.

Bei Sangyun ran barefoot across the white sand, the cool grains tickling her feet. As the water kissed her toes, she felt the chill of the sea, but it couldn't chase away the warmth blooming in her chest. She turned to Fei Chuan, who was watching her from a distance with a gentle smile.

"Come here! It's not too cold!" she called out, waving at him.

The setting sun behind her cast an orange glow across the beach, gilding her silhouette in gold.

Fei Chuan's heart swelled with joy and contentment. He wanted to capture this moment—every expression, every detail of her—forever. He ran to her, wrapped his arms around her waist, and lifted her into the air. His happiness overflowed as he spun her around.

Bei Sangyun let out a delighted squeal, her laughter ringing through the air.

The beach echoed with their laughter and joy. As the sun dipped beneath the horizon, they sat side by side on the soft white sand, their hands clasped together. The sky was awash with hues of orange and pink, the ocean reflecting every shade of the fading light.

.....

Bei Sangyun finished showering. As she blow-dried her hair, she hummed a soft tune. Of all the trips she had taken, this one had been the happiest. Spending the entire day with Fei Chuan—playing around like children, watching the sunset on the beach, and simply sitting side by side with their hands clasped—had been nothing short of serene and magical.

How she wished this day would never end.

Once her hair was dry, she stepped out of the bathroom. As she approached the dressing table, she noticed a small note waiting for her.

[There are dresses in the walk-in closet.]

Bei Sangyun instantly recognized the familiar handwriting. A warm smile spread across her face as she carefully set the note aside and headed to the closet.

The moment she opened the walk-in, she was momentarily stunned. The room was filled to the brim with elegant dresses, shoes, and bags lined neatly on the shelves. The glass jewelry cabinet sparkled with accessories—earrings, bracelets, and necklaces, each more dazzling than the last.

She stepped inside slowly, her fingertips brushing across the fabrics. As she examined the dresses, just as she suspected, every single one was in her exact size. All of them were limited-edition pieces from luxury designers.
