Chapter 194: -Really?-
"Awwww, he's just so cute and hot at the same time."
"I'm so jealous, my boyfriend can't even compare to him."
"Oh please, you don't need to flatter me. I'll make sure to keep him from your eyesight."
In the bustling but orderly movement of sophomore girls as they made their way to their awaiting rides — a much more classic and pretty group of girls could be seen, walking unhurriedly while they conversed and giggled between themselves.
Amongst them, a certain Mexican girl with promising charm that would surpass her mother remained quiet, only flashing a smile and little giggle as the other girls conversed. Either talking about their hot, cute boyfriends or cool older brothers that attend the most elite school in the country.
Being unable to relate, she could only play along.
Though the other girls had long since seen through this facade, they purposely brought up such conversations to make her feel off.
Her only purpose in this circle of girls was to give value to the purpose of it as the prettiest girl in the school.
Otherwise, Jenny wouldn't act like the leader because of her boyfriend, who she didn't seem to get enough of.
'Always flaunting.'
Smiling at the group, Talia thought in irritation, but there was nothing she could do.
In a school meant for girls alone, boys were like a prized treasure. Those with handsome boyfriends flaunted images.
With today being the first day of resumption, Talia felt more irritated than she usually would because it was all talk of how they spent their holidays going on trips with their boyfriends or flaunting pictures.
"You guys look so good together."
"I know, I know."
A series of giggles followed after.
However, while Talia was lost in thought about how horrible her holiday had been compared to her peers, the group of girls exchanged skeptic, knowing glances before Jenny chose to chip in.
"Talia, you haven't told us anything about your holiday since you arrived. Or didn't you have fun?" Jenny said before another of the girls chipped in.
"Oh Jenny, you didn't need to say it out loud. We all know of Talia's high requirements in guys. There's no way someone would have caught her attention, talk less of getting into a relationship with him. Or… isn't that right, Talia?"
Pulled out of her thoughts by Jessica's hidden jest, Talia appeared momentarily stunned and was about to reply when…
VROOM!!!!!!! VROOOOM!!! VROOOOOMMM!!!!!!
…The loud sound of a revving engine silenced the whole atmosphere to a freeze.
Shocked, eyes drifted towards the entrance/exit, landing on a sleek black, brand-new-looking Lamborghini as it slowly pulled past the gates, then to a stop, joining the straight line of waiting cars.
"Wow." The school security officer that had just confirmed Max's pick-up password appeared dazed upon realizing the model of Lamborghini.
Just as breaths of anticipation filled the air, Max casually popped out his feet from the vehicle and stepped outside.
Barely a few metres away, within the group of girls, Talia, upon realizing how oddly familiar the car was, had begun to draw a short gasp along every girl present.
Even the usually dismissive, cold, feminist teachers were no exception.
But were women that into cars to draw such a reaction?
Of course not.
Perfectly toned arms, chiseled jaws, and striking facial features to hold his short mullet haircut. Max's aura momentarily left the girls' and ladies' legs weak.
Within the crowd, Talia felt a sudden sense of horror grip her heart as Max's eyes, unaffected by the commotion he caused, searched through the crowd of beauties.
"Who is he?"
"He's… so hot."
"My goodness."
Listening to the girls' compliments around her, with an urge to cover her face.
"Talia!"
Max called out as their eyes met, even raising one of his hands that had been tucked into his pockets to signal at her.
"Huh?"
The girls around Talia revealed a stunned look, unable to process the name they all heard.
As a heavy blush crept upward from her neck till it completely made her face flushed like a tomato, Talia didn't dare stay any longer and quickly nodded at the girls who couldn't react.
"Bye guys."
Waving her hand as quick as she could, Talia turned and ran in the fastest way she could towards the black limbo while everyone else watched.
Seeing Talia run towards and the silence of the crowd, Max could almost not hold back the threatening wide grin that fought to reveal itself on his face.
Clicking the button for the second door to open, Max coolly glanced at the surroundings before stepping into the car.
"Please, go go go go."
Upon reaching his Limbo, Talia quickly took off her backpack, popping inside and burying her face between her laps before the door could completely close.
Hearing her plead, Max ignited the engine, stepped on the accelerator while screeching a 160° turn towards the exit.
VROOOOO!!.
As the car accelerated past the gates, everyone seemed to have been released from the strange jujutsu.
"Talia, that bitch." Jenny cursed from the bottom of her heart, gritting her teeth as the scene played again in her head.
…
Having driven far enough, Max lowered his speed and Talia slowly raised up her head — only to cover her face once more with her palms.
Not saying a word, Max kept quiet while he drove in silence until—
"... Really?" Talia said.
