SSS Ranked Dragon King: My Innate Ability is Unbelievable.

Chapter 114: Meeting the Caravan.

"Young miss, please try to bear with us. We can't move faster lest we put ourselves in danger." The Old man looked helpless against the young woman's complaints, after all, he was nothing but an adventurer, she was his junior in age but, that was were the seniority ended.

In Lion heart Kingdom, no commoner usually dared go up against a noble no matter how unruly and disrespectful they seemed and the old adventurer was a perfect example of that.

A blue ethereal bird suddenly flew down from above and perched on Esmeralda's shoulders before whispering something into her ears.

" ... Someone's coming from right behind us." Esmeralda's words left the old adventurer surprised.

Another adventurer suddenly approached from the back at the same time. " Captain, it looks like someone's behind us." The adventurers words made the old man realize that the young misses words were true.

" Hmph! To think I even discovered them before you all. Useless! Your all useless!" Esmeralda slammed shut the carriage window.

She was arrogant and disrespectful but even the captain couldn't help but acknowledge her skills.

After all, she was able to detect the presence of others before the scout of their group was able to, even if the time intervals were close to one another, it still went to show that this young miss wasn't all for show.

" We won't make a move yet. First we must see if they're friend or foe, for all we know, it might just be some merchant caravan who decided to use this route." The other 6 adventures nodded.

Su Pings caravan soon caught up with Esmeralda's escort group. The adventures tired probing the carts with there gazes.

" Undead?" The captain was wary from the site. " Looks like the group belong to a necromancer." The captain muttered beneath his breath when he saw Rugard sitting on the coachman seat of the leading cart. His face was half covered from the nose bridge downwards by a cloth mask, leaving only his eyes and hair visible.

He was still a wanted fugitive so he and Su Ping were obviously in the same both, meaning they couldn't reveal their real identity to others.

The only reason he was more brazen back then in that town was because news of his wanted status hadn't spread that far from the capital yet, but this group Infront of him was a different story, Rugard wasn't sure whether they were aware of his fugitive status which meant he had to be careful either way.

" Is something the matter gentlemen." Rugard had to bring the caravan to a stop when the adventurers blocked off the path.

" Please forgive our rudeness but if it's ok with you, we'd like to search your carts. Our employer is somewhat allergic to stranger's. I hope you won't mind." The captain of the adventures gestured towards the carriage with his gaze before tossing something towards Rugard.

" We understand that our actions seem rude so we're willing to compensate you accordingly." said the Old man with an apologetic smile.

Rugard was silent, he opened his palm and stared at the mid grade mana stone in his hand, he then glanced at the carriage as well as the horses the adventurers were on.

He faintly sensed some magical power around the horses feet as well as the carriages wheels. It didn't take Rugard long to discern that they must've casted a spell to erase their tracks before returning his gaze back to the adventurers.

In that moment the atmosphere became rather tense. The adventures gazes were pinned on the undead around the carriage as well as Rugard. The old man seemed to be ready to strike at any moment, his eyes pinned on the necromancer before him.

If his guess was wrong and the figure before him turned out to be someone sent to assassinate the young miss, then he would do whatever he could to kill the other party, so long as a necromancer is killed, their summoned undead should vanish without a trace, this was a fact the old man was clearly aware of.

" I'm sorry sir but this stone might be wasted on us." Rugard got off his seat and gestured for the adventurers to follow, which 3 of them did, while the captain and 3 others remained in place.

" As you can see, it's just me and my brothers family." Rugard led the adventurers to the cart Melinda and the kids were.

" Mommy who are they?"

" Are they uncle's friends?"

" His cloth looks shinny."

" Is that a sword."

The kids eyes were filled with curiosity when they saw the adventurers but Melinda hugged them close, not letting them approach them. The adventures relaxed a little when they saw how energetic Mel and Sal were.

" And who's that?" One of the adventures gestured with his gaze, towards a figure dressed in a dark cloak his head covered with a straw hat.

" That's my brother..." Rugard said, his tone sounding conflicted at this point. " Forgive him but his appearance isn't exactly sightly...you see, when it comes to necromancy, not everything goes exactly as planned."

" Oh...I see." The adventurer said, he quickly scrutinized Su Ping with his gaze but found nothing alarming, the latter's magical aura was that of a level 2, though he couldn't tell the tier. The adventurers senses relaxed when he realized that the man next to him was the only level 3 amongst this caravan, meaning that even if he could summon an undead of equal strength, with their numbers, they would still be able to overpower them.

" Forgive me, I didn't know." The adventurer apologized, he saw the cloaked figure nod lightly. The adventurers followed Rugard to check the other carts but all they found were food materials, items and the like, something commonly found amongst merchants.

" All clear captain." The adventurer said when the three of them returned to the old adventurers side. He then relayed all the info they gathered to the captain. After hearing all they had to say, the old man finally relaxed a bit.
